4.Nonito Donaire
5) wladimir klitchsko

Come on Gordy. Tell us how they are all Sky hype jobs!!
I think Manny is lucky to maintain a place coming off two loses, but no real arguement with the list.

Agreed Mann is lucky to be in there. Haven't heard anything about Bradley's next opponent. If he is not careful he will be boxings next avoided man. What fights are out there for him?

Don't know how Broner can be near Froch, his resume isn't anywhere near as impressive - but other than that its not a bad list.
See Gordy? Froch has been treated quite harshly with this list, is he a hype job?

Would have JMM ahead of Wlad, maybe just a straight swap. And, after this weekend, maybe straight swap Donaire and Martinez too. Looks good otherwise though.

On that list Bradley.
I see Ring TV have Broner at 5......
(Sorry being a spazza. Didn't see Bradley was on there. While Broner is a 2 weight champion, i feel to be p4p you need at least 1 name on your list. Broner IMO doesn't.)

Just looked at the ring rankings, as good as Broner is, he does not deserve to be ahead of Donaire.

I know I shall be slammed for this, but what on earth has Wlad done to surpass any of the names on that list other than Broner, nevermind Marquez?

I agree. Does one not have to beat someone to be p4p? His record, and Haye as a victory gets him in top 10 in a devoid list of achievers (from 4-10) at the moment. This is given the fact that former p4p'ers are old, getting beat and retiring.
Broner has huge potential but so did Ortiz and Khan a few years back. Is there a real lack of p4p quality at the moment?

Froch shouldn't be on the list and Marquez is far too low given the manner of victory of the former #2.
With Froch clearly Sky have put him there to add some British interest.

Spot on! But seeing as this list is from Sky just be thankful he is not number 1!

Froch's run of fights has been fantastic, he's well worthy of being in the top ten.

Re: Sky's pound for pound list from 12/12/12
I can't have Broner too high in the top 10 list just yet, 9 or 10 for me.
The guy may turn into a great and is clearly in possession of a generous helping of talent but right now it's more potential than actual achievement meriting a higher spot.
Also, his absolute determination to be exactly like Floyd does annoy me. I hope he finds some original material soon.

Robert Guerrero is far more deserving to be on the list than Froch.
Guerrero came up two weight classes and beat two proper welterweights - the latter being a 2xwelterweight champion.

Aydin was an undefeated welterweight, and whilst he wasn't FMJ - coming up from LW and fighting an undefeated boxer deserves praise.seanmichaels wrote:Gerry SA wrote:Robert Guerrero is far more deserving to be on the list than Froch.

Berto isn't exactly a bum. You don't win two welterweight titles if you are a nobody.
Berto is a better scalp than Bute that's for sure.

Why dont people stop being so fooled by Froch and use sense? How can he be in the top ten when he lost to Kessler?? That should mean Kessler would be ahead of him for starters but that wont stop Sky from trying to fool people that Froch is a great fighter.

Ward thinks froch is a great fighter and he's a boxer so he's an expert. Does that not mean he's a great boxer?
On a more serious note not quite top ten but if he avenges the Kessler loss he will be knocking on the door.
Ward and donaire to rule the roost in the next few years. Though I don't find wards fights pleasing on the eye I can't see anyone around or upcoming that can get close to him

Re: Sky's pound for pound list from 12/12/12
Perfectly reasonable list and perfectly reasonable to have Froch on it. People love to jump in and say 'so and so shouldn't be on that list' but then struggle to name a viable replacement.
The only other possible fighters you could replace him with are:
Guererro (who, for me, needs another big win before you can put him top 10)
Mares (who is good but is probably 2nd fiddle to Donnaire in the way Froch is to Ward - only he hasn't got the same level of competition)
Vitali (on the principle of longevity - but he hasn't fought any one good in a while and he's on his way out)
Gamboa (ultra talented but has yet to face the best - would over take Froch as soon as he wins one or two big fights - but not yet)
At a push: Viloria or Rigondeaux (still to really prove himself)
Then you're down to: Alvarez, Dawson, Garcia, Cotto
For me Froch is the pick of that bunch in terms of an amalgamation of talent/perceived talent, record, achievement, opponents, and longevity. And, if he isn't top of that 'fringe' list, he's not bottom by any means.
As I said - it's absolutely reasonable to have him challenging for 9-10th place the way things stand currently.

According to victor's assesment of your trustworthiness I shall presume I am adressing a cultured, well reasoned chinaman.

Haha, fair does, VickyG is a little sensitive to a bit of ribbing, but I'll take that one on the chin!
