Think this will be a tough one after the efforts v the MFL. We may see Mark Bennett according to the Warriors blog. Better let ASBO know !

Re: Rabo, Round 13: Glasgow Warriors v Benetton Treviso
It will certainly be a tough one for Toonie. Treviso are a very tough nut to crack and could easily mug us. However there will be battered and bruised bodies that need to be rested. Possibly Kellock, Jackson, Pyrgos, Wilson, Grant all with an eye to the 6N.

Maitland needs game time, ditto Wee Dunky. Seymour can feel unlucky not to have played and should be in. Fozzie also needs a chance to play himself into contention for 6N. Bennett and Paris well we need to play them otherwise what was the point of signing them? I think the bench will totally depend on whose sick note has run out. Hopefuly Barclay, Cooseater and Cusack wil be nearing fitness. Ditto Welsh.

John Welsh is fir again - brilliant ! We have a mighty front row - that may be required against some pretty street wise customers from Treviso - apologies to the late great Bill MacLaren there

My understanding was that Sick Note Lamont is due a game or two now that he can walk the length of himself without impersonating Samuel L Jackson in 'Unbreakable'. Hope to hell he's on the wing instead of Paris Hilton.

Ramont was due to play for Dundee before Christmas but the match was rescheduled. I'd expect him to get a few games in the permiership before getting back into the team. Dunbar is back fit so I'd like to see him get some game time.
Toonie can't play a softc*ck 23 this week. It'll be a hard game.

I tend to agree with young Scot Abroad, this is no time to be resting players - I'd particularly like to see prospective international players properly battle hardened and I think Treviso will offer a stern test. Am however expecting the Messiah to start at 13 - Mr fES will soon be eating his scornful pite!!

Re: Rabo, Round 13: Glasgow Warriors v Benetton Treviso
Haha I'm afraid I've been slightly out of the loop over Christmas due to not being in Glasgow so I'm sorry to say that I'm not GC's source. Although I can reveal that Pat MacArthur has had a new contract, another young warrior signed up for the long term.
Treviso are a tough prospect this year and I don't expect Toonie to take them too lightly. However the team does need some rotation to keep the boys fresh so expect at the very least to see Seymour, Weir, Dunbar/Bennett and probably Reid and Hall come into contention for starting berths. So ASBO might just get his wish after all!

OP update - strong team and a good bench.
Lots of respect to Treviso.
Bennett presumably helping with a natural disaster somewhere in South America or on Krypton.
Shame that they went with Murchie instead of him or Whoops Ramont.

Treviso team:
15 Luke McLean
14 Ludovico Nitoglia
13 Christian Loamanu
12 Alberto Sgarbi
11 Andrea Pratichetti
10 Kristopher Burton
9 Edoardo Gori
8 Robert Barbieri
7 Alessandro Zanni
6 Manoa Vosawai
5 Corniel Van Zyl
4 Francesco Minto
3 Lorenzo Cittadini

17 Matteo Muccignat
18 Alberto De Marchi
19 Antonio Pavanello
20 Dean Budd
21 Simone Favaro
22 Tobias Botes
23 Alberto Di Bernardo
That's a very strong lineup they are sending over, very big pack (6-2 split bench too), Strauss and Harley will have their hands full dealing with the physicality of the Treviso's backrow.

Re: Rabo, Round 13: Glasgow Warriors v Benetton Treviso
Zanni isn't a fetcher so I don't see an issue with Harley at 7. He could well end up starting at 7 in Twickenham given injuries to Rennie, Barclay and Fusaro.
Bennett must really be awesome in training. Still not even so much as a sniff of the bench. Legend.
Glasgow will win this one by 10 points I reckon, although it'll be interesting to see how Jackson goes with the kicking duties. I can't see him starting for Scotland at 10 without proving himself as a kicker.

I'd heard that this was the Christmas he discovered that Santa didn't exist, that he ran away from home as a result and still hasn't been found.
Someone ought to check the tent in the Bennett family back yard.

Glad Dunbar is back in the mix although he'll be lucky to touch the ball with the donkey on his inside, he has hands like feet.
Jackson can't be any worse with the boot than Horne has been in recent games. Might be good to build some confidence.

Rotated for Heiniken Cup I'd presume. Not sure he was fully fit going into the 1872 so it'll give him a bit of a rest. Can't really complain that Seymour is back in the team, deserves his gametime given his performances this season.

Just rewatching the second 1872 Cup game and I really hope that the Warriors can hold on to DTH - he really is a fantastic player, the way he made the nearly try for Hogg was simply outstanding

Re: Rabo, Round 13: Glasgow Warriors v Benetton Treviso
Agreed on DTH. He's deceptively strong and a very balanced runner. He destroyed Lee Jones in the first 1872 match and made a bit of a mess of Fife in the second. He's a far more complete player than Visser. Both excellent attacking players with great try scoring instincts, but DTH can tackle, pass and kick the ball sufficiently well to be an international centre, and that's why I think he's the better player.
I can only assume that DTH has been taking lessons from Mark Bennett.

Ulster to beat the Scarlets tonight. Glasgow to get a hard fought 4 pointer.
Rob Kearney to touch down the 4th try on 62 minutes before being hauled off, pushing Leinster past Glasgow into 4th on points diff.
You heard it here 1st.

As an Edinburgh fan I could live with it come 1872 time!! It would also give a Scots qualified player the position, like Seymour.
Still, Glasgow are my second team, so I hope you can keep him.

The "pen" as it is called on Twitter has been hard at work and I'm sure Nathan Bombrys has been hard at work trying to keep DTH. Biggest problem is the sharks circling from France... Biiiiig money.

I can imagine, UiG, and who could blame DTH if he accepted that type of offer - interesting piece about Jim Hamilton talking about his impending move to France that I read recently - basically he has no formal education, so a final couple of years of large lay cheque in France could give him and his family financial security for a long time to come. Not saying this willbe the same, but it is understandable

Glasgow 20-0 up (2 tries) about3 minutes till half time.
Treviso playing with 14 men, early red card
