The V2 Journal relaunch
Hi everybody and happy new year!
The v2 Journal is coming up to its first anniversary in a few weeks and we thought what better time to give the site a facelift (especially as we now understand the editing software!).
So we are delighted to announce that after extensive work over the Christmas holidays, that the site is now live again.
Thanks for all of the support over the last year - the site has been a great success and with just over 200 articles published over the year, we hope to have an even better 2013.
And remember, its a community site - that means if you want an article published, please let the v2 team know. We are always looking for articles and writers on all kinds of topics, so please get in touch.
So a big thank you to everyone for your support and please let me know what you think of the new design.

Home page looking the best it has since launch - good work guys
My only suggestion would be that I think it would be easier on the eye if the list of articles was to the left and the images/ BBC Sport feed to the right. I'm no expert on website design though so that's just a thought.
I do think that the sub-pages (at least the one for cricket) need quite a bit of work, but I understand that it takes time and the front page must be the priority.
From a cricket point of view I think we've done OK, but that we need a couple more writers, and more regular interviews (the Adam Hollioake one was really interesting), to make us a site that people would go back to. I hope to get the podcast started in a few weeks of time, which might be easier to promote on Twitter and will link in well with the forum.

What's the point of the V2 site? Why split articles between here and there?
Asked purely from ignorance.

Re: The V2 Journal relaunch
whilst trying to generate original content, which in turn would lead to people joining this site, we came up against the objection of people not talking to us or giving us access to material due to us being merely a forum.
So we decided to start a online magazine which would give us more credibility with sports stars and clubs.

On a side note, it also allows us a place to post all of our podcasts.
Thats right, for those who dont know, we run three regular podcasts.

Hope to start the cricket podcast in the next couple of weeks. I know that Shanky is up for being on it regularly, and then if other members come on occasionally (or more often if they want) we'll be fine. There's usually enough going on in cricket to make a good show without really needing cricketers to come on, although if it was possible to get any on that would, of course, be great.

So what are the three podcasts about? Also, how do you actually make a podcast? Seems like a cool thing to know how to do.

Re: The V2 Journal relaunch
Well that would be a special day for them - no chance of progression though. If I was them I'd want the lowest-ranked team possible, get into the 5th round, then the next lowest-ranked team, get into the QFs, then it's one game til Wembley!

Re: The V2 Journal relaunch
We'd probably go out though to one of the other lowest ranked clubs (Luton), so I think I'd cash in now happily on an away day at Chelsea, Utd or City. We got Chelsea in the 3rd round a few years back and that was a great day out so wouldn't mind going back again.
