Morgan Stoddart Retires from Rugby
Can't see an article on here about this so here it is.
SCARLETS full-back Morgan Stoddart has been forced to retire after failing to recover sufficiently from the double leg fracture he sustained playing for Wales against England in 2011.
That injury kept Stoddart out for the whole of last season and, although he made a try-scoring return to the Scarlets side against the Dragons in October, he has had to call time on his career at just 28 years old.
Stoddart, who also played on the wing, made 85 appearances for the Scarlets and won eight caps for Wales.
"It is with real sadness that I have to announce my retirement from rugby and it has been a difficult few months as I come to terms with the fact that I was not going to return to full fitness," said Stoddart.
"I have been very fortunate to play for the Scarlets and Wales and have enjoyed every game in my professional career working alongside some brilliant fellow professionals.
"I worked as hard as possible in the year I was off to get back on the pitch and that can be a difficult period for any injured player mentally, as well as physically, but I was determined to get back to playing.
"But ever since I've been back on the field I've had significant pain in the leg throughout and that has not improved. Following a series of medical tests and consultations, detailed scans and strength tests, I've been advised that I cannot continue."

Is this confirmed? I had heardx rumours he wasn't responding to rehab and regressed massively after a comeback.
What a shame!!!

Shame for him. Another top class player who has had to retire in their prime.

Terrible news. Really really rated Stoddart and thought he could have been a real asset for Wales. Injury came at a bad time.
Best of luck to him for the future.
