Morgan Stoddart injury
First post here so hi everyone.
I just wanted to comment on Morgan Stoddart's injury. The wife and I were wondering why the incident when he broke his leg was not replayed at all yesterday whilst Stoddart was being attended by the physio's. Well today I watched the game again and just after the incident the commentators said that the production team had decided not to show a replay of what happened so I with the magic of my Sky box I rewound to see what happened and it truly is horrific. For those who have not seen it his leg, well more like his shin bone just snaps in half. It's hard to see if the English players leg actually catches Stoddart but from the angle I watched it at, it just looks like his shin snapped in half. And then when he was laying on the floor you could see a huge bump on hos leg, obviously where his leg snapped.
I feel so sorry for him and hope he returns to play again some day.

Welcome to the board, damage
You could tell it was serious when they didnt show it again. He was playing really well (I thought he played well against the BaaBaas too).
Real shame and a big loss IMO.
How did you find us/ hear about us?

I saw it again earlier, as I was trying to see again what happened afterwards (that my take on it at the time was right and Walsh should have bee able to tell he needed medical help). Horrible injury.

Reminds me of poor old Geordan Murphy last time, they foolishly did replay that and it was vile.
Lets hope like Murphy, Stoddard recovers well and continues in a prosperous career

Re: Morgan Stoddart injury
So those who have seen the incident, did the English player make contact with Stoddart?

Re: Morgan Stoddart injury
Yep seen a pic of it online and it is a clean break across the lower part of the shin, looks horrific.
On twitter Gareth Maul who traveled with Wales as a spectator said Morgan is in good spirits this morning down at breakfast, which is good to hear.
Good on SKY for not replaying it but shame on Barnes and co for turning into how wonderful Danny Care is for stopping play and talking about Lewis Moodys injury all the time.
And since when is grounding of the ball and simultaneous elbow in touch given as benefit of the doubt to the defending team?
oh yep thats it when in Twickers!!! disgraceful.

Nope no contact just a hand on each shoulder and pulling him to ground, Stoddard had his leg at an angle whilst trying to push through with it and it give way.
A genuine accident.

From the angle i saw it as Armatige's leg went in to the back of Stods calf as he was tackling him. Fair tackle, accident.
Cant help but agree with the comment about how bad the Sky commentary is, was close to muting it yesterday.

I'm not 100% sure but it looked like Stoddart's studs caught during the tackle so their momentum took Armitage's legs into Stoddart's. No idea how much contact there was or if it was just after the break - either way, it was a horrible accident.
The SKY commentary was as bad as ever but while Care was just doing what I hope any player would do, I think it is right that it is recognised that he did. Not least as it sends out a good message to kids about sportsmanship.

I thought the break came before the tackle?

Re: Morgan Stoddart injury
True it does send out a good message to younger ones who are watching, good game thou i was pretty happy with a lot of what Wales did behind a weak front row and the complications of Stevo and Morgans injury.
Tries scored without Hooks creativity and Martyn Williams sharp thinking.

Re: Morgan Stoddart injury
Was it just me or did anyone else think just give the ball to North in the last ten mins?
Every time he got the ball he caused trouble and took a fair few defenders to bring him down.
Sam Warburton was fantastic and really started to lead by example as the game progressed

Nasty injury to someone who i would have had above Halfpenny on recent form in the Welsh selection order.
All the best to him and hope for a speedy recovery.
Was at the game and could hear him scream over the Refs earpiece set.

Re: Morgan Stoddart injury
what surprised me apparently both Jamie robertd and dylan Hartley were screaming to stop the game but wallsh only stopped it coz Care could see how bad it was.
Typical Walsh
As a Welshman much respect to Care for doing what all rugby players do put the players welfare first
Doubt that in soccer
