Wow, bonus for my side, just noticed Inter Milan have signed Mateo Kovacic from Dinamo Zagreb for €11m. I only signed him for the equivilant of about €3m. Just need David Villa to move to the Premier League today to make my day.

Nah you're well clear of relegation and me!

I've got a good cup team though. Until I come up against the juggernaut that is Gregers' team this week.

I was thinking if I changed my name to a French one, it'd be Rennes and Stimpy.

Are name changes allowed in the close season? I'm thinking CF and El Dios might want new names and the rest of us might fancy it.

Worth me changing Deportivo My Sharona to Colonel Getafe?!

Just testing the water, but how would people feel if we moved the tactics and voting deadline from midnight to 4pm?

We are discussing who will do what from a runner perspective and doing this would enable us to be able to post up tactics and calculate results much earlier (i.e. on the day, rather than two or three days later)

I'd say no point changing it, people still get their tactics in late and they don't get posted until Saturday anyway. The way it is now, if I had a really busy day at work on a Friday i'd still be able to get tactics in on time, but if it changes to the new times I wouldn't.

Couldn't you send your tactics on a Thursday in that scenario? I often send my tactics early in the week anyway.
If injuries and lawyers are reliably posted on Monday night it's three and a half days to write up a set of tactics.

Okay. I can collect tactics, but after 5pm on Friday and I am off and not going to be around to post them up until Monday morning.

Also Treb's would be down to collect votes and calculate the results. However, he is around Monday evening, but not Tuesday or Wednesday.

Unless we have a volunteer from the Top League to collect tactics and votes for the 2nd League.

Idea for the Cup next season.

Spanish Group: Deportivo la Chorizo, Deportivo My Sharona, Spanish Bank

Italian Group: Under Brescia, Atalanta Falcons, Murder on Zidane's Floor

English Group: Moleicester City, FC SWAG, No Respek FC

German Group: Bratwurst Mannschaft, Pass the Deutschie, VFL Fassbender

Everyone plays twice out of three weeks, winners of each group into the semi finals.

Week 1-3: Group games (everyone plays 2 weeks out of the 3)
Week 4: Semi Finals
Week 5: Final

Shorter Cup season by a week and only 4 possible ties instead of 6. Thoughts?

And perhaps you could do like Cherries suggested and have second and third level knockouts, so everyone has an interest upto the semi-finals.

i.e. all the 1st place teams in the Cup Semi-finals; all the 2nd place teams in a Bowl Semi finals; all the third place teams in a Spoon semi final.

with £10m and £6m to the Cup runners up, whilst the Bowl and Spoon winners could also get a small amount, say £3m
