Predictions for weekend
Here's my predictions based on recent form (last 6 months), last w/e, home/away advantage, injuries etc
Scotland 28 Italy 11 - Scotland too strong at home, Beattie having a stunner, Italy still a little hungover. Thoughts Vincenzo? (our new Italian poster).
France 24 Wales 6 - Hell hath no fury as a wounded animal (quote from ancient Roman philosopher Mixtus Metaphorus).
Ireland 16 England 27 - Farrell has his day.
I'm not a betting man but what sort of odds would I get on an accumulator at a variance of 5 points each way I wonder?

Re: Predictions for weekend
I'm not going to play the predictions game, as I would only get my hopes up and, most likely, be horribly let down again. That said if matches produce as many good quality, exciting tries as they did last weekend I will be pleased.

Having considered these, I'm fairly confident except for the Paris game. France will probably bounce back and win well, but if the Wales of last year turn up, score early and get the crowd on the Gallic back, then a good Welsh win is very plausible. It's a tricky one but then if it wasn't there'd be a lot more millionaire gamblers.

Re: Predictions for weekend
Bluesman, I just cannot see any of those games being that one sided.
After last weekend I am sure that all of the games will be fairly high scoring, by modern standards at least, but I think they will all be close. Don't get me wrong, if we finish with a twenty three point lead over Italy I will be ecstatic I just cannot see it.

Scotland arent as bad as results might suggest, Wales are on a hiding to nothing shorn of confidence with an amatuer in charge and centres who cant pass, Ireland are at home otherwise that result would be reversed.

Re: Predictions for weekend
And you may be right but Italy are a different beast at home, they certainly won't be the same team away. I see them pipping Scotland or Scotland really thumping them.
France are more than capable of whipping the coachless no marks.
And Ireland have performed wonder results against England in Dublin before!

Re: Predictions for weekend
Tycroes,
I am fully aware that my team are not as bad as our recent results suggest, however I do believe that there are a number of things that currently hold us back, I do not think that these things will just disappear and allow us to play to our full potential on Saturday. As with Wales many of our problems are psychological, I do not think that they will go away that quickly.
I do not believe that Warburton has the injury the management have reported to the press. I think that he has been dropped, Warburton was/is very young to be named the captain of a team that has to cope with the expectations that the Welsh have, they may be a different beast without him. Also France still have their best centre on the wing and a flawed genius at outside half who has not had much international game time for a while (discounting last week)
Ireland England will possibly be the most attritional game of rugby I have ever seen, it will depend more on injuries than the actual teams but I would be surprised if there was more than two points in it.

Re: Predictions for weekend
This is what I love about the six nations, who can predict any of these games.
My only gut feeling is that France will win against Wales. Frances performance against Italy was very out of sorts when compared to their recent form, whereas Wales have been in a poor run of form for a while.
Scotland vs Italy. Im going to back Italy here, some of skills shown last week I have never seen from Italy before. Scotlands defence will struggle if they play as they did last week.
England vs Ireland. Both teams looking good, but I'm English so im going to be biased.
France 36 Wales 21
Scotland 18 Italy 23
Ireland 19 England 27
Lets hope they are all good games again!

Re: Predictions for weekend
From Wales POV I don't want a good game, I want both teams throwing everything at each other and making lots of mistakes, well I'd rather that than 2 nervous teams trying not to lose!!
A 1 point win is all we need, so 5 - 6 would be ideal!!

Scotland 22 Italy 15 Scotland should have enough at home.
France 32 Wales 9 Damage limitation order of the day for us.
Ireland 25 England 22 O'Brien is the difference between two evenly matched teams. O'Driscoll is brimful of confidence and it's in Dublin.

Re: Predictions for weekend
In their last 2 games England have scored 30+points per game.
So would like too see England do the same on Sunday against Ireland.
With the possibility of even scoring moore than that.

France 26-12 Wales
Ireland 21-14 England
I hope England have a stormer though, so Farrell is spanking his goals for my dream team. Dan Cole to crash over would be good too.

Stick to the Camomile tea Risky
If Scotland/Italy play like they did last week...
Scotland 15 - 36 Italy
If Scotland manage to work well at the break down and ship the ball through hands more, to the danger men with good support lines...
Scotland 27 - Italy 18
If Wales/France play like the did last week...
France 28 - Wales 27
If Wales play a full 80 instead of last 35mins and France crack it up a notch...
France 18 - Wales 15
If England/Ireland play like they did last week...
Ireland 23 - England 25
If Ireland manage to play full 80 and not fade away as England put pressure on...
Ireland 25 - England 15
But I see, Italy, France and England all winning this weekend.

Fair dues. For your information though, I'm ecstatic, and very nervous at the same time, as knowing us we could well be back to the bad old days on the 24th.
