Frampton v Martinez Empty Frampton v Martinez

Post by alanqlm Fri Feb 08, 2013 11:19 am

Hey guys, first time back in a brave while.

Heading to the Odyssey on Saturday night for this after the other half decided she would be rather pleasant and got me tickets.

Surprised to see there ain't been much chat about it on here. Guessing Reeborn has disappeared too. Anybody have any details on the weigh in tomorrow as I'll be in Belfast and wouldn't mind paying a visit.

No idea mate. Welcome back.

Should be a cracker, I'll be tuning in.

What have you done to get random tickets off the other half?!

I can barely get me dinner after work!!!

Frampton is 6. Kiko is there to be beaten. Not physically strong enough whilst Carl is a beast at the weight. Should be a one sided beat down.

Still in the earlier stages of the relationship Mobile, the novelty aint wore off yet, just under a year.

Though seem to have done alright, likes sport especially Football and Boxing so might keep hold of her.

I reckon Frampton in 8 myself, looking forward to Selby v Lindsay aswel should be a cracker.

Haha fair enough. Sounds like a keeper mate.

The only sport my misses watches goes as far as the Sunday league team for the queen vic in Albert square!

I'm going for mid stoppage myself, too big and frankly too good for what will be a game Martinez early on.

Selby vs Lindsey is my pick for fight of the night.

Off to dream of work tomorrow, have a good one.

Think this will be a great fight. Martinez has the power to trouble anyone at the weight. Frampton is by far the more polished boxer, with what looks like a serious engine. The atmosphere will be electric. Another good test for Frampton, I hope he gets his whiskers tested and comes through with flying colours.
Frampton Ko in 6.

It'll be a good fight for four rounds and then Frampton will take over. Kiko isn't as good as people make out, he comes forward in straight lines, and if you don't get caught up in a war early he offers you lots of chances to hit his face.

Frampton inside 6 by KO or TKO.

Hopefully he steps up properly after this mediocre level fight.

You can clearly see Frampton has one the mind games in this one even before the weigh in. Seen a lot of stuff from him saying Martinez has been forced to fight him, and it looks like it has gotten to him.

For anyone who hasn't seen the weigh in, after Martinez weighed in he decided to go after Frampton giving the slit throat gesture causing Shane McGuigan to step in. Mid Round stoppage for me this one.

Easy night for Frampton............Chavez-Rosario all over again.....

He is so much in the image of Mcguigan it's like watching the same fighter....

Like Mcguigan a compact quality counterpuncher like Nelson or sanchez will do for him.........

However lucky for him they are few and far between...

Frampton better than Quigg for me....and too much for Marty.

If Fitz can put that much pressure on him, then Murray destroys him as too does Macklin. Easy fights for both of them.

Early on in the fight I'd have said he had a lot of ring rust to shake off, but because of that Fitzgerald has gained confidence and now thinks he can win.

Poor performance thus far from Lee. he's had a layoff, but should be doing a lot better than this.

Fitz can't win. Regardless of what he believes. There is only one winner and i see a few more well timed body shots...

Macklin vs Lee would be a tidy little fight. Macklin can be hit quite easiy by Lee's straight shots, but would hit Lee a lot himself.

First time i've seen Lee box. He seems to like to control things and not like pressure. Macklin and Murray are in a different class to Fitz when it come to applying pressure.

There's a massive difference in walking forward with guts and being effective on the front foot.

Lee wouldn't stand a chance against either (on this performance, the only performance i've watched)

This is just a poor performance down to ring rust, possibly the new training regime and the fact the pressure is on him for his very first fight in his home town. The Lee who fought Chavez would have outboxed this guy with ease, and I think we'll see a much better performance from Lee in his next fight.

When interviewed, does anyone in the world blink as much as Kell Brook?

"I'm devastated Alexander has pulled out"

Then tell your face, you look as though you've just left a botox party (except for the blinking).

Good fight, selby had a good second round

Send his strength and power advantage and tried to get into a war as lindsy is just too small or doesn't hit hard enough to beat Selby if they trade

Lindsey did alot of good work there and hit selby with some quality punches but isn't have phase Selby whereas Selby was really ripping him with this wheat body shots and Selby isn't the type to start fading as the fight goes on
