Leinster v Treviso
The Leinster squad trained in UCD on Monday afternoon as they started their on-field preparations for Saturday night's RaboDirect PRO12 clash against Benetton Treviso in the RDS (KO: 5pm)...
There are no major fresh injury concerns for the province arising from Friday night’s 26-11 victory over the Cardiff Blues in a game which saw Eoin O’Malley, who was a late addition to the panel in place of the injured Fionn Carr, make his 50th appearance for the province when he appeared as a second half replacement.
Springbok prop Heinke van der Merwe was another late withdrawal after being rested to recover fully from a knock to the leg, but management are confident that both he and winger Carr will be available ahead of Friday’s midday team announcement.
Isa Nacewa missed the victory in Wales at the weekend with a recurrence of an arm injury sustained in January and is unlikely to be involved this weekend.
Ian Madigan, who completed a 100% successful kicking tally of 16 points on Friday, is in line to make his 21st appearance of the season – and his 70th in Leinster colours – if he features this weekend. Meanwhile, Ireland international Rhys Ruddock is one cap away from reaching the half century appearance milestone.
The management expect the return of a number of players who have had limited game time after their involvement with the Ireland Six Nations squad in recent weeks.

Nor the Dragons one on the 1st of March.LeinsterFan4life wrote:This game isn't on tv either!!!!
At least this one is in Leinster, on a Saturday, with tickets available.
No one from anywhere in Leinster could fail to make or get home from a 5 o clock ko on a Saturday.

Terrace tickets 15 north and south stand 20. Grandstand 30.
40 will get you halfway line in the grandstand.
I'm pretty sure most people will pay that to go to a game that's not on telly.

Still buckets of 20 euro tickets left. There are 15 euro terrace ones too, but you have to know a season ticket holder to buy them.
Some Munster fan probably told you they were all 40 blips.

No I seen them on ticketmaster. It was seats near the halfway line. Crazy prices for 2nd/3rd string Leinster team vs Treviso 'A'. Most of the Italian team is made up of Treviso players. LeinsterFan4life wrote:I would go to this only for the tickets are 40 euro!! No one will pay that.
Who buys halfway line tickets when they are short of a few bob?
What you are saying then is." I'm not going unless I can get seats on the halfway line"
Majority of the tickets are half that price.
If you want to talk prices no one will pay. The Anglsea stand seats down near the goal line are also 40 bills. Those seats never sell out unless it is a full house (obviously)
They should reduce them for all games.
The prices are on Leinster's website. They don't change, unless there are special offers (unlikely with the game not on telly)
Over half the seats in the stadium are in the North or South stands they are priced at 30 bucks (10 for kids) for HC games and Interpros. 20 bucks for the rest of the games. I happen to think that is decent value to see the best side in Europe over the past 4 seasons.
As regards 2nd/3rd string team, we will have everyone bar the players in the starting 15 for Ireland and injured players (only 3) so more like a 1st/2nd string team.

Thats all fair enough Jen. Its just thats where I want to sit because its the sheltered part and its rained like every day this week.
40 euro is too much imo thats all. If they all sell then fair enough.

You could always have a look at any Leinster fans who want to see their season ticket for this game. Think you get them at a discount. I've sold mine for any games i couldn't make this year, it's a great idea.

Looks weak, this team would get destroyed by a Treviso full strength team, but as it will be their 2nd string it will be ok i guess.

The pack is particularly weak, where are van der Merwe, Browne, McLaughlin? Cullen and Bent on the bench, this is weak in my books.

VDM is off to Stade Francais, so O'Connell will be expected to step up to 3rd choice LH. What better game to put him in.VinceWLB wrote:Jenifer McLadyboy wrote:Wow! Marshall is a belter, keep your eye on him. He can step back to 6 or 8 as well if needed
Browne is injured.
The back row are super talented. Murphy has had a breakthrough season. Ryan is just back from injury and doing well. (Jennings on the bench) And Ruddock is in his best position at 6.
Our scrum ATE Cardiff's last week with similar players.

This looks better to me than this week pack (maybe i don't really rate Hagan and Toner...), also don't forget Cardiff had Filise at tighthead who is beyond terrible and they have been going backward at scrumtime to just about anyone.
Btw i find it weird that two times in a row Leinster aren't on tv.

Toner is light years ahead of Tom Denton.
Cronin is light years ahead of Tom Sexton
They are the only changes in personel
I don't get Hagan ahead of Bent myself but I'm sure there is a reason.

Its harsh on Macken that EOM walks straight into the team. By all reports Macken had a good game last week. Its a good game to for EOM though. Lets hope he gets back to last years form very quick.

Could that have anything to do with Kidney wanting to see what fitzy is like at 15 now that Zebo is out? It doesn't make sense at all from a leinster pov as Kearney jr has played there for most of his games.Golden wrote:Surprised Kearney Jnr isnt at full back with fitz on the wing.

Interesting that he is out of contract this summer. He is being linked to Connacht. It actually wouldnt be a bad idea for him to leave for 1-2 years. Then come back and replace Jenno.

O'Malley was decent. He's off now, Carr Mcfadden to centre.
Fitzgerald is playing well, making a few very good breaks (he set up Cronins first).
The scrum is not going very well, we're not being shoved around but giving away a lot of penalties.
The bench is pretty much empty at this stage.

Perhaps I am on drugs today.
Jeez Jen if you think that leinster team is more 1st/2nd string then I want whatever cupcakes you are baking...
You seem to have an obsession with baking. Are you trying to tell us something?

Well done, Dubs. Posting 5 points using largely your second string is always a good result. And with Glasgow's 8 tries against the Dragons, you needed all 5 points.

Looks like Madigan ran the show last night, as Mick was saying.
Which game were you at Deccie? Please don't say Scarlets. Please say Ravenhill or the RDS.
As for Dom Ryan, he is going nowhere. He's Jenno's successor and he is back and very hungry. He has lost so much time. Just want him to get a good run now and prove his capability as a 7. He has the best one in the country showing him the ropes. And its not SOB.
