Such a nice day to throw the ball around against a team we should be looking for 5 points from and still Madigan doesnt start
Good team though (Reddan injured?).
McFadden looks to be out for the season and Fitzgerald is once again "just unable to take that last step to return to play". Seems always to be the case with Fitz's injuries.
Kick off is 17:00 GMT today. Broadcast on TG4

Wait do you have a link/any info about Madigan snapping at MOC? Missed this totally.

Re: Leinster Vs Treviso
Madigan was sooo good last year. And the year before. I think he was about 90% with goal kicking, making breaks, one of Europes top try scores, and making passes that literally made the crowd gasp in appreciation. His career has been set back at least a year by this new coach. Such a shame.

To be fair he didnt show that kind of form at the start of the year. And Gopperth came in and did very well. However you would have to question MOCs selection at ten in the run up to the Toulon game.

Sorry wasnt on earlier- just heard through 2 friends who know madigan. He apparently wasn't happy with MOC bringing him on too late against toulon and let him know about it angrily- was dropped completely last week for that reason

Yeah, sorry to be on about this- but that shouldn't have been a card for me. Kearney is attacking the ball, which means he is putting himself in that situation. Card is overly harsh.

I did and that was a case of the player attacking the ball in the air and putting another player at risk, which is totally fair within the laws. Despite the outcome being a serious injury.
In both cases the Leinster player attacks the ball and jumps into a situation where somebody may well be hurt, be it themselves or another player, but are protected because they are in the air.

Re: Leinster Vs Treviso
Just watched the Kirchner and Loamanu collision, that was absolutely nasty, made the Payne Goode collision looks like a soft one.
I don't think Esposito deserved a yellow for his challenge but at least that wasn't a red.
These kind of collisions happen in every game and it needs adressing.

Re: Leinster Vs Treviso
Just looking at the run-in. Ulster still have Munster and Leinster to deal with. Glasgow have Treviso(awah) and Zebre, plus that lesser Scots side - at home. They should get at least 13/14 pts (could be 15) from their 3 remaining games. They may even top the League by the end of it. And who could argue against that? But, I reckon they will have a home SF v Ulster.
O's may yet spoil the Ulster apple-cart. They have Dragons away. Zebre away. And Connacht at home.
Id love to see Connacht fock em up.

I think Treviso might give Glasgow some trouble over there. Seems ludicrous after today's results but if Zebre put some pressure on them and they need a result then who knows

Re: Leinster Vs Treviso
I also think Treviso could yet change the whole dynamic Stand. Despite what happened tonight, they are a force at home.
But. I don't think this Glasgow side will lose a game on the run-in. They have beaten all the best. They just need to beat what's left and get that home SF. They deserve this shot. They really do.
If I wasn't a Leinster fan...

Re: Leinster Vs Treviso
lads, what's the craic with Fitzgerald? He played versus Munster didn't he? Then hasn't been seen since, didn't make the Toulon, Ospreys or Treviso squads? Thought his ab muscle injury had cleared

Re: Leinster Vs Treviso
Good result for Leinster. 9 tries! And 2 yellows cards so 14 men for 20 minutes. This team really starts to fire when the ground firms up.
2 of the worst impact sounds I've ever heard during that game. The berquizt and bod clatter I could hear at the other side of the ground. And the Zane impact was eerie.

Does anyone have any news on loamanu? Been trying to find updates online but nothing. That was one of the worst collisions I have ever seen.

Re: Leinster Vs Treviso
Treviso's display on Friday was pathetic, they were totally disinterested and looked as if they wished they were still in Italy. Will serve them right if Zebre catch up with them and get the one Italian spot in Heino Mk 2 next year.
All in all, didn't help the argument that an Italian team should have a guaranteed slot in Heino Mk 2.
That said, Leinster were pretty ruthless and looks like a home SF v Ulster or Glasgow.
Also good to see Iomanau is ok, but jeez the number of injury disruptions - a lot for what looked like very minor things - was awful. The first half took almost 60 minutes (admittedly a good chunk due to the Iomanau injury) and surely if a player is able to leave the pitch to be treated then he should be told just that. And as for play being held up so a player can put his contact lenses back in.....
And is it only me, but at every break in play a whole host of coaches, water carriers etc seem to flood on to the pitch - like Gaelic in the bad old days when "mentors" would descend on the pitch like ants in every break in play. Keep them all off unless they're called on by the ref!
