Boxing podcast - questions needed
Hi all,
Next installment for the show is tomorrow night where we have 3 guests on.
I could do with some questions (please keep them mostly serious!) and we may use some of them.
So without further ado, I unveil our lineup for tomorrow night (subject to change - we might change the card with an unknown at the last minute and offer no refunds!)
Peter Fury
Gavin Rees
and....
Tyson Fury.

Re: Boxing podcast - questions needed
You've got to be kidding me. That's 3 weeks worth of podcast right there. Fury has to be asked about, kbros, price, his recent thawing towards price, ie wishing him luck against Thompson. Does he see a price fight or and a title shot in 2013. What fights don't get it on anymore? The rarity of trilogies? Is he really going to wait for the kbros to retire. How he would fair in other eras. Etc etc. Let him talk, probably no need for questions.
Rees, how was the experience, could a burn fight be made, how does he think burns would do against broner. What's left for him in boxing. Was he angry with the stoppage. Is broner a tool when the cameras are off. Was he ever in the picture for a khan fight.

HOLY FRICKING MOLY
I take it you're doing this over the phone not face to face??!
What does Rees think he could've done different/better?
Where does Rees see his career going from here? Will he try attack the 135 division?
To Fury, is he very conscious of PR/marketing and actively tries to play it to promote himself or is everything truly off the cuff?
Does he regret anything he's said/done?
Proudest career moment so far?
IF he were to tackle Price, what would he do/what would his key attributes be to beat him?

Ask Fury If he is happy to be bringing Boxing to the wider public on terrestrial TV...
If channel five are happy with the figures..... and If he thinks there is a future
for boxing on cable in this Country!!

Re: Boxing podcast - questions needed
You only need one question for this interview:
David Price said you were a bum what do you think of that?
Fury should go on for at least three hours.
Given he has made jibes at Maloney on twitter about his financial standing you could also ask Fury:
if he has any concerns about Frank Maloney having the ability to pay him £500k to fight Price.

Gavin Rees looked tiny compared to Broner in the weigh in, maybe ask him if the size difference hurt him?

Absolutely gutted to be missing out on this one because of the bloody flu! Fur posted some quite respectful things about Price on Twitter recently so it'd be great to hear how he really feels.

Just saw on SI that Fury has been announced as fighting Steve Cunningham in MSG New York. So questions about his opponent would be good

How do you expect to fare against a blown-up cruiser who's lost 3 on the trott, maybe??

Tyson: Any danger of giving the fans what they want rather than acting like a twitter troll only to turn down a fight most fight fans in britain want to see? You can act like a man all you want when it comes to Price but the public perception is that you're running from the fight.

Who out of your fellow contenders do you see as earning a chance at one pf the world belts?
What age do you want to get out of the sport? Is your aim to clear out the division then retire or go for the legacy by staying around to dominate?
How many fights before you fight for a world title?
At any weight, who elses fights do you enjoy watching?
Have you got any advice to those that fall by the way side from boxing?

Gotta hand it to Fury - he does give a good interview.
Really enjoyed that one; he and Peter came across very well in that one. Looking forward to listening to it back.

Bit of both probably. I'm not sure if it is all an act or if he actually has mental issues.

That was very good. Adam has a good voice for the media. Good to hear Peter Fury get air time.
Production is always the problem. The "On The Ropes" radio channels always seems to pick up a bit of criticism for the sound quality which is thin and echoey, interviews from a telephone box type criticism.
I personally believe in people throwing themselves into things even if they don't have every thing worked out. Being under pressure is the quickest way to learn.
Intro/ ending music and jingles would certainly be an improvement worth making.
Improving the sound of Internet radio/podcasts using telephone interviews seems to the holy grail but it is a yard stick for how profession the station/podcast is perceived.

Totally agree with Strongback. Great job by Adam.
Researched fighters background, interesting questions, relaxed presenting style. Almost Adam Smith-esqe, but without the hint of Michael Howard vampire.
You should try for Bunce's job on BoxNation. Buncey is a great guy in person, but his presenting has gone downhill every since he became Warren's puppet.
