Until we move it's cost the wife £50-60 a week in petrol to go to work and take the kids to school

Wow that's a lot! I do 150 miles a week to work and back plus weekend trips home to Sheffield so about 220 miles a week. Probably costs me £35 a week.

Have you found somewhere yet?

We have seen a few , and have someone coming to view ours on saturday so things are moving forward

My mum moves the weekend after next. It's going to be very strange. She/we have been there since January '86 and that house is what I mean when I say I'm going home, that's my destination. I wonder how many times I'll automatically drive there after she's moved?! Just hope I realise before I park my car on the drive!

I did that when i first moved of my Mums , i would pull up outside and then have to get back in the car and hope she hadn't seen me .

I would then get home and there would be a message on the answering machine saying " Did you forget again ?"

I think I'm going to have to forewarn her purchasers. It's going to happen, I can guarantee it! At least her new house is only 5 minutes from there.

I'm looking forward to moving now , new start and all that .

Idiot solicitor's missed something on the Contract and had to courier it to Perth, then Canberra (where vendor's 2 brothers live) and get the 2 sisters to sign it again as well. That's happened twice now. Otherwise, all is good.

Waiting for the owners to get back to me with a final date. I had proposed March 8 but it will probably get pushed out a couple of weeks now. I'll have to follow up the solicitors again on Monday... they're dragging the chain a bit.

Had a few people in today measuring up for new carpets, painting. Feel as though I should stay here a bit longer now.

We had a girl look round our house yesterday and she has put in an offer , but its to low so we have rejected it and told her to come back with a better offer

Lady downstairs with MS did the same. This big-mouth real estate lady tried to rush her in to selling with a low offer - but I told my neighbour not to fall for it. She told the agent "you'll have to do much, much better than that!"

she offered £10,000 below the asking price .............cheeky beach

I reckon this woman here was offered at least $50,000 under. We get fliers in the letterbox - proves that the price I estimated was almost right on the mark for a unit one floor up. The agent has told her all kinds of excuses but unfortunately the woman has signed up for 3 months.

We had one of those companys who buy houses offer us £ 5,000 less then the asking price , they just rang up and said " We see your selling your house we will offer you so an so "
