Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
The fourth game has been confirmed as a pirate themed one, more revealed on the 4th march so far there is a poster/picture of the character, no idea of the name but here's hoping he is not as stable and boring as Conner and the game is not as bad as 3.
thought could imagine maybe something like fighting Blackbeard and the flying Dutchman ship making an appearance.

Though there has been good potential in pirate games, so I'll hold my breath

Re: Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
i would say its to early for a new AC game basically becoming COD.
would prefer one in present day and hoping for an actually decent ending this time though Pirates seem cool though hope the guy is not anything like stable and boring Connor or related to him name wise laugh out loud.

Well you're entitled to an opinion, even if it is the wrong one.
The aforementioned COD series takes that by a mile. 2 was the last good one.
Present day would be pretty terrible unless guns no longer exist.

why are you face palming?
in the AC universe it would be present day , to us it would be the future
could still do with history of the ones before etc

Because you didn't make that obvious in the slightest Bull. The original statement makes no sense

Re: Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
I received Assassins Creed III as a Christmas gift after casually mentioning that the concept looked interesting when an advert came on the tv (I'm a bit of a history nerd), after never playing the earlier games. Must say I've been pretty underwhelmed so far, seems repetitive and the close combat fighting poor unless I'm doing something significantly wrong. Only got about 4 levels in before I moved onto another game.
Pirates seem an interesting concept but the second level on III was based on a ship and it didn't particularly inspire. Unless seriously recommended by another gamer I think I will give this series a miss in the future.

Don't listen they are essentially all the same. Repetitive

Re: Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
I've played all of them and really enjoyed 2, Brotherhood and Revelations. Went into Game today and had a look at 3 and thought meh. It looks all the same. Each game has offered something different to the last but 3 just doesn't appeal to me. Hope 4 does something to make me consider buying it.

To be fair Bull you've repeated about your hatred of connor in 3 of your posts alone, we get it you dont like him your entitled to that but no need to keep repeating your self haha.....I jest
I appear to be in the minority as I actually didn't mind 3, I thought the gameplay (although sometimes a bit glitchy) was far smoother than previous ACs, and although the character wasn't as great as Ezio, I was hooked in the story all the same

Re: Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
3 was not that good if I was scoring out of ten it would be a 4, I felt no wrench completing it, some games I will drag out for a bit cause I've enjoyed them.
The best bit for me was the naval combat , once you get going on those missions I had a pretty good time.
The rest of it, the horseriding was pretty terrible, the stealth elements were almost nonexistent, the crafting / trading elements were pointless. Combat pretty easy.
Just read that back maybe not a 4!

Re: Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
I enjoyed 3, just not as much as the others.
I don't think the setting helped it, neither city felt as alive as Rome or the place in 2.III I've forgot the name of. The enemies were pretty useless and repetitive, given everyone used guns. And it was too short.
I enjoyed the naval missions which surely take on a bigger role in a pirate setting. I think there were plenty of good ideas in 3, execution just wasn't up to par.
I'd like to see the homestead replaced with a pirate island

Re: Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
Which game do you mean by 2.III? might be able to guess the city
i enjoyed 3, but i think the Naval missons was the best part though did like the animals being more involved, there where glitches etc and the homested was just no needed should of done it like in Brotherhood with the whole city kinda thing, they enemies sucked heck the Haythem battle needed a better conclusion then it had and well the ending..

Aye they felt more alive than either of the two in 3. The wilds were just poorly done imo.

"Assassins Creed: Rising Phoenix" has also been leaked.
could be the name of the movie in development or a Vita or maybe another game laugh out loud or a animated film.

Got this yesterday, visually it's fantastic. Gameplay is as good as ever, love taken on other pirates and sinking their ships
