Assassin's Creed Revelations
New trailer released yesterday and I am now reaching fever pitch level of excitements.
That isn't Desmond at the end so who is it?
I absolute cannot wait for this game. Creed is the best modern series by far.

I'm a massive fan of the AC series too.
I will DEFINITELY be buying this as soon as it comes out. Might even go out and pre-order it this weekend.

Re: Assassin's Creed Revelations
I'm preordering it from Game or HMV.
Got Brotherhood from HMV last year with the bonus material.
So.... what did you think of Brotherhood's ending?

Re: Assassin's Creed Revelations
Always felt they missed a trick with the AC games, why they didn't go down a mission route and style similar to Thief I'll never know. Instead what we got was a somewhat open environment action game with little of what it is to be a assassin about it. They barely scratched the surface on a great premise.

Have you played any of the creed games since 1 Dass?
Creed 2 and Brotherhood were sensational and totally got what being an assassin in renaissance italy would have been like.
Bull, do you play the multiplayer?

Yes played the 2nd game as well as the first still found both to be lacking depth in the whole assassin concept was flimsy covering to what could be condensed down to a mission based action game. Even the other missions that involved following were little more than a button pressing exercising down on auto pilot, the ideas were there about using the environment to blend in but what was implemented felt just a thin layer for the action part of the game.
I was just hoping for so much more in the stealth department in the game and in the intricities of the levels themselves for a game centered around assassination, when a game like this can be completed where stealth is not the number one consideration then its failed somewhere from my viewpoint.
Enjoyed the first two games but just felt they could have been so much more with the premise at hand.

Fair enough to have a different opinion mate.
Although I'd still recommend you to play brotherhood as the script for it is brilliant.

Did you ever play Thief II?.
Thats the type of gameplay I was looking for from AC or an evolved version of that.

Ubi have said assasisn creed 3 will have a 'clean slate' so Desmond will get killed I think. Kind of hope he does, would love to see an AC game in an Apocolypto style setting or in 13 Century Russian but you would have to go back in time for both of them.

I cannot wait for this game. The first one i had was brotherhood which i loved, so i borrowed AC2 off my mate which i reckon was even better. Is it worth getting hold of the first one on the cheap? would anyone recommend it?

Re: Assassin's Creed Revelations
For a casual fan of games I think the assassins creed series is superb and probably the best series around.
But I'm not a casual gamer, I've only played the second game but I think its an enjoyable game but there's something about it that I found annoying. The controls and the camera aren't as tight and precise as other open world games. The action sequences get on my nerves too, all you need to do is counter when the enemy strikes and its an instant kill. The plot isn't well explained and I felt like although I was enjoying the game I wasn't really appreciating the plot as much as I should have been.
I enjoyed exploring the various locations in its fantastic setting, that's my favourite part of it. It's good to go on when you want a sharp blast of fun on the odd occasion but I couldn't commit myself to it for a long time.
Overall I feel that if it just had a bit of a higher budget it would be a lot better. Perhaps the problems I felt with number 2 have been rectified in the third game and in future released.
Now I wait to be put to task over what I've said.

Re: Assassin's Creed Revelations
I happen to agree with most of what you've said though I don't think its a budget problem thats down to what the game lacks. I think its more to do with a lack of belief in their own ideas and as a result following them through with conviction.
It sprinkled other concepts around the action part of the game but when you come down to it its the the action part thats main predominate. I shouldn't be able to complete an assassin game using a counter attack mechanism.

Re: Assassin's Creed Revelations
love the creed games but gotta go with dass, the counter attack fighting got a bit old in 1 and 2. I'll be buying this asap though, hoping both Ezio and Desmond die because I don't like them as characters and I can't see a "happy" ending working. Reckon next game might actually be about working for Abstergo

Re: Assassin's Creed Revelations
Cant see Desmond going. Clean slate surely means no more etzio or Italy? Hoping so as, although the last 2 were awesome and I will be buying Revelations and playing it to death, I would like to see somewhere new next time (please not modern day though).
