New Caps for Ireland
With the selected team I see we have a guaranteed new cap at 10, and potentially two more on the bench:
Ireland: R Kearney; F McFadden, B O'Driscoll, L Marshall, K Earls, AN O'Ther, C Murray; C Healy, R Best, M Ross; M McCarthy, D Ryan; P O'Mahony, S O'Brien, J Heaslip
Replacements: S Cronin, D Kilcoyne, AN O'Ther; D O'Callaghan, I Henderson, E Reddan; AN O'Ther, L Fitzgerald
Are they related?

On a slightly more serious note, just look at all the new caps for Ireland in the last year
Gilroy
Zebo
Marshall
Jackson
Henderson
Kilcoyne
Bent
Strauss
Add to that some possibles in Madigan and Archer and you have loads of guys getting in on the act

Peter O'Mahony and Declan Fitzpatrick must be in there as well?

All carefuly and thoughtfully assembled by injury and panic. Who does he think he is fooling? Possibly a vast minority.

Dont even start me off. It will be rectified soon. When yerman joins ROG on the sidelines.
Remember him at 6? Devastating. I mean O Mahony at 6 FFS. He wouldnt get a sniff in any of the other 6-N squads. Let alone start.

Haha true story man bit of a cop out but at least it has happened I guess, can't credit Kidney but it will stand to us, and yeah POM and Fitzpatrick would be included in that too

Kidders has to shift players around to accomodate his fellow munster men.Gibson wrote:LeinsterFan4life wrote:Nice to see SOB continuously wasted as a 7.

And give political positions to as many token Ulstuurmon as poss. Great move. Buys him some temporary political voting cred on his way out the door. He's one Cute political Hoor all right.
If the IRFU leave him in position for the RWC, Im buying an Amsterdam lady of loose morals, large amounts of laced pino-colada and a nasty Sun photographer. Dont know what Deccie likes, but I'll be well happy anyway.

Doesnt help mo chara. He's still there.
Love Donnacha Ryan though. He has been robbed of more caps. Far better player than DOC ever was. And may I say, more effective than a possibly fit POC now.
Born leader. Superb player. Losing does not suit him lets say. Reminds me of Johnno. A Lion in my opinion.
Not a 2nd-rate mucker like POM. He will disappear with a decent coach. As will Deccies love-child Earls. There is no other reason for both of them to be there. None.

Re: New Caps for Ireland
I just found out that Trimble slept with DK's daughter and never called her, thats why he couldn't get in the team at start of 6 nations.
Then when DK was prepared to forgive him, and recalled him to last training camp, he was caught making eyes at DK's wife.
Only logical reason as far as I can see.

Kingshu,
to be honest for Trimbles own sake I think he is as well out of it until Kidneys tenure is over.
I can see this game being full of errors as 2 nervous teams try to show they're not as bad as they are being made out. Even if Andrew makes just one error or doesn't pull off something amazing due to not be used effectively, then he will just get slated and dropped again!
McFadden is no doubt in for his goal kicking back up.

Re: New Caps for Ireland
To be fair, McFadden is playing very well this season. He is a bit like Trimble in the way he plays and if I had to choose between the two I would probably go with McFadden.

Re: New Caps for Ireland
Andrew Trimble is a fine player. Very strong, great defender, exceptional tackler great under the high ball, makes good ground with ball in hand. However, he doesn't score enough tries in international matches, takes contact too often and does not create as many opportunities from offloads as he should.
First priority of a winger, be fast and score tries when in space.
That in my opinion is why he is in and out as much as he has been over the years.

And an astute reading of a good player (who could be better) it is too, Submarine. I really like Trimble but I just wish there was that extra slice of consistency that kept him in rather than having him in and out so much. I fear he'll go 'out' one day and never get back in.
In a sense he's like Fitzgerald. He's in and out/off and on so much that you can't blame him his possible over-eagerness when he does get a chance again. But over-eagerness is sometimes his greatest weakness when in Green. Relax - let the game come to him, and enter into it methodically, don't chase after it
