v2 London drinks picks the Lions party (38)
Ok, we're sat in Marylebone in the fine establishment that is the Thornbury Castle, and conflab has turned to Lions selection.
Props (6): Healy, Jenkins (if avail, Vunipola if not), Corbs (if fit, Grant if not), Jones, Cole, Brockett (if fit, Budgie if not)
Hookers (3): Hibbard, Best, TN Youngs
Locks (5): Evans, AW Jones, Launchbury, Gray (if fit, Hines if avail, else Parling), POC (if fit, Tuohy = token)
Flankers (5): Tipuric, Rennie (if fit, Warburton if not), SOB, Robshaw, Brown
No8s (2): Easter (controversial in my book), Beattie
Scrummies (3): (we know Phillips will go but none of us are happy about it) BJ Youngs, Laidlaw, Care
Flyhalves (3): Sexton, The Borg, Biggar (provided somebody slaps the Biggy out of him)
Centres (4): Twelvetoes (now lost in the Forest), [the Messiah (just for fES)], Roberts, Davies, BOD with Paddy Wallace's head bandage (if fit, and if not suspended, Tuilagi if not)
Back three (7): Halfpenny, Maitland, North, Brown, Kearney, Gilroy, Bowe (if fit, MacVisser if not)
ENG: 12
IRE: 5
SCO: 6
WAL: 11
TOK: 4
Drink may have been taken in the making of this film, and please bear in mind that this is who WE would take, not Gatland picking players to play Gatland-ball

If I'd have known Huggy would have pushed you so far off kilter I'd have got the train up there from Bristol this afternoon instead of going home! Isn't Kiwi there to talk some sense into you? (No, let me guess, he voted for Budgie too! )

Honest, this is a bit of a laff on the back of a fine evening.
Brockett (Tim), plays for Ealing and we couldn't come up with anyone better for 3rd choice t/h.

There's more chance of an Ealing player making the plane than the English outnumbering the Welsh!
Unless of course Gatland comes down with a nasty case of Woodwarditis.

Very jealous of your meet.
Brockett looks like he's embarrassed about his man boobs in that photo...

Glas, kiwi was there with a steady hand on the tiller, with some selections.
I got voted down on a couple of players.....
A grand evening, and we all laughed a lot at the various comments.
I've said before that our London 606 drinks meet ups work because we have different nationalities turn up. We all get an appreciation of what different people feel about certain players.
Healthy stuff imo.

Delighted the Messiah made it into the squad on my account, although with him there I see no reason to take BOD......

There was errm quite a lot of debate regarding the 3rd hooker. Youngs vs Ford vs Hartley vs Rees. And all have their flaws

Well with Youngs his only flaws are he can not throw in or scrummage

Should we not wait until May to be able to tear apart Gatland's utterly useless B&I Lions selection? And Risky, where do your trains come into in London so we can make it easier for you?

And he struggles in the tight...
Was Owens not considered? I'd personally go for Hartley and Lindsay over Youngs.

Ah, blues - it was one of those 'you had to be there nights'. Hilarious stuff.
Ken Owens was indeed discussed if memory serves. Selections were by vote.
