Dhawan should be available pretty soon. Disappointed to see Quinton de Kock failing in the 2 chances he got. Hopefully he'll get a few more opportunities.

Not sure T20 is necessarily De Kock's style.

I'm enjoying White's captaincy, which I think has been a cut above the rest so far, but he needs runs with the bat.

I was however disappointed with Mahmood's bowling to Perera. ON that pitch back of a length was the hardest to hit, but he looked for the blockhole and bowled length.

Also, why was Chawla at long-on in the closing stages? Poor captaincy by Gilly there...

Sporting pitches are making for much better and more interesting cricket overall though.

Mishra has been fantastic so far you have to say, and I've enjoyed Morris's bowling for CSK as well.

Mike, de Kock has scored over 1000 T-20 runs from 39 matches, 35 innings at a superb average of 35.46 and a brilliant strike rate of 139.44. His highest T-20 score is 126 not out. His first class record is superb, but his T-20 record is equally good. If anything, he hasn't done as well as expected in 50 over games. I hope SH would give him more game time and he'll come good.

KKR won the toss and are batting. They have replaced wicketkeeper opener Manvinder Bisla, but not with Brendon McCullum. Laxmi Ratan Shukla comes back in, and Debabrata Das will be keeping wickets. CSK are unchanged.

I stand corrected re De Kock. Having watched him first play for South Africa and now in the IPL I've thought his strokeplay seems a bit limited for T20, but obviously he's got by so far very well. Possibly he's been nervous and so afraid to play his more expansive strokes, or possibly he'll be found out by the step up in quality (the CL was awful).

Pitch looks slow and will only get slower. Good toss for KKR to win given their plethora of spin bowling options. New ball probably the best time for batting, surprised not to see any spin yet. I suspect yorkers won't be the way to go at the death, back of a length slower balls will be tougher to get away.

he made his IPL ton with Rajasthan, by opening.

Think it has to be the case of being a touch too nervous with de Kock. Its not just in the CLT 20 that he did well, he did very well in the South African domestic T-20 tournament as well. Can't really say he is found out, he never got a decent time out in the middle, 10 balls for 2 runs so far. I hope its just starting trouble, and he'll come to his own in the near future. He and Chris Morris are the 2 players I had set to watch out for, Morris has been good so far though his opportunities with the bat have been rather limited. Among the Indian emerging players, I wanted to look out for Siddharth Kaul and Sandeep Sharma, as well as Sanju Samson. But they aren't getting much game time as yet.

CSK have gone about this is the wrong way. Should have gone after the new ball a bit more. Ashwin was an interesting call, but I'd have gone with one of the more established hitters, maybe a Morkel or a Bravo, who may struggle to time it as it gets slower.

They may still get there, but they've made it tougher than it should have been.

Narine's final over may prove to be the key. Hussey and Jadeja rightly have decided they need to make the other overs count. Great blow by Jadeja.

CSK made it tough for themselves to chas such a paltry score.
In the otehr game Rajasthan crashed to 117....

what a low scoring IPL this one is where 160 seems BIG like 200 used to be a in previous IPLs

Very happy to see Ravindra Jadeja do it again for CSK. He really is earning the respect, much deserved this season.
In the other game, RR failed to post a substantive total, but this time there was no royal messing from the Royal Challengers, Gayle took charge of the innings with a restrained and mighty effective innings, and despite no-shows from Virat and AB, they went through without much trouble. Gayle showing he can also play in such a different tempo, just 49 not out of 44 balls!.

MI v DD was the first game of the done and its just got done.
What a result for Delhi. They absolutely thrashed MI in a run chase of 161. 50s from Sachin Tendulkar(54) and Rohit IPL Sharma(73) saw MI score 161 -4 in their 20 overs.
Mahela Jayawardene promoted himself up the order to open, and the move worked wonders for DD, the skipper blasting 59 of 43, and Virender Sehwag also had one of those days and he smashed an unbeaten 95 of just 57, and the chase was done and dusted in just 17 overs.
I have always felt that Mahela is at his T-20 best while opening. DD had brought in Roelof van der Merwe and Venugopal Rao and the changes worked.

Sehwag and Delhi are back with a bang.
Mumbai are being sunk by the forced greatness of Tendulkar upon them.....whose 50 odd at run a ball after 5 failures...wasn't good enough.

Pontoing and Bhajji are also liabilities...and MI will sink if they carry all 3 on reputation of old days

Luke Wright went beserk at the end of the inning for Pune

from the time I saw him hitting 5 SIXES in a yuvraj over....and that he can bowl at 130kph seam up has alwys made him my favourite for shorter form.

made 34 off 8 deliveries...and within a few inches of clearing for a SIX when he was caugth

what an innning....IPL throws up amazing display of talent

It was sensational batting from Luke Wright, and Finch, who is captaining in place of Angelo, Yuvraj, Uthappa all chipped in, and PW has a huge score. 185. But KXIP are giving a spirited chase, Mandeep Singh and David Miller both have completed their 50s, and KXIP need 40 of 20. Easy if you are CSK, but lets see how KXIP will do.

Good comeback from Dinda there, just 5 of the last 4 balls. KXIP need 16 of the last over. Miller on strike on 65, Mandeep is on 76. 2 set batsmen, 16 runs. Luke Wright it is with the last over, his efforts with the bat during the death overs were quite special, what has he got with the ball?

So Wright was quite brilliant with the bat for his side, but he got it wrong with the ball!.

I have always felt that South Africa haven't given Miller a fair chance in the T-20I side despite showing lots of promise, hopefully he'll be able to make a stronger case for the national side through some good showing in the IPL.

And brilliant from young Mandeep Singh, he's only 20, but has already shown an ability to take up responsibility, captained Punjab for many games during the domestic season when Harbhajan was with the national team, and he has played with greater responsibility than any other KXIP batsmen in this IPL so far.

KXIP were 5-2 and 58-3, but they've managed a 7 wicket win in the end, terrific partnership that between Mandeep and Miller.

CSK v RR today. RR won the toss and are batting. Kevon Cooper and Rahul Shukla back for them, CSK brings in Jason Holder, in place of the injured Albie Morkel.

Watson's running away with it. 54 of just 29 at the moment, and RR are 71-0 after 7.
Ashwin strikes, Rahane gone. 71-1.

185-4. Huge ask for CSK. RR haven't lost many matches after putting up 160 +. A test of CSK's batting depth and power.

The CSK chase has been going on well, Hussey and Raina putting together a 90 run partnership in quick time, but now James Faulkner has taken out Suresh Raina. Is that the opening for RR? CCSK need 72 of 42. Dhoni joining Hussey.
