Wrestlemania 29 (will contain spoilers)
First topic message reminder :
The night WWE bottled it?
Most memorable moment of the night was Mark Henry winning a match by literally squashing somebody.
All good matches, no amazing moments.
Personal highlights:
Daniel Bryan getting the arena into 'YES' chants.
Mark Henry literally squashing Ryback.
CM Punk doing the whole Undertaker routine.
Brock Lesnar's beast moments, he looks genuinely terrifying, shouldn't speak though...
Michael Cole exclaiming after Cena hit the Rock Bottom; "That's the Rock's move!" Thank you Michael.
But the biggest question has to be what was special? Everything went almost totally as predicted, Big Show was the only heel turn of the night when there was potential for a few, The Shield had a good showing but might fade if they're not seen as an actual threat, surely once they get through the first line of defence, they should be a danger to all the matches again? Swagger-Del Rio was a match that needed a shock, but failed to deliver, Ziggler didn't win the tag titles, but didn't even tease, never mind achieve, a cash in. Rock-Cena was an okay match, but the ending flopped, the live crowd were vocally against it and the whole thing stank. WWE can't turn a blind eye to the hatred towards Cena anymore. If he doesn't want to turn heel because of his charity work, then WWE have to move him from the main event scene because he's become stale, he can't keep pretending to be face, he gets booed when he's in his home town for Christ's sake! It's embarrassing to keep up the charade any longer.

Re: Wrestlemania 29 (will contain spoilers)
I thought from a Psychology point of view John Cena was excellent, I don't understand why he played up to the possibility of turning heel but he got me hooked on the feud, this for me was the most enticing match on the card because I felt we'd get a heel turn, we didn't and Cena got the clean win (which in hindsight was the best decision for the company) but while I was disappointed it was a clean win I appreciate the fact that Cena got me, he had me seriously thinking he'd turn heel, that's job done, when you get a Wrestling fan to invest time and emotion into you then you've done your job correctly, that fact that the outcome wasn't as I'd hoped is neither here nor there, Cena didn't turn heel to swerve the crowd, he didn't turn heel because its not in his nature, he might get ultra competitive and aggressive and that's what I'm talking about, its that psychology that leads us to believe he'll turn, its that possibility that will keep us hooked, keep us booing him and keep us hoping that next time will be the time he turns.
I'm John Cena's biggest critic when he does things poorly but credit where and when its due, he played his part superbly, had people believe he could turn and when it was all said and done had the last laugh with 'his' fans

I completely agree with Kay Fabe on this, I wasn't at all interested in Cena v Rock 2 from the off yet the little subtle hints he was making made me interested, it was his work that had me hooked, it was him that was making me more excited about their match than I was for Punk/Taker or HHH/Lesnar.

And I think Cena knew he had everyone fooled. Hence his comment on Raw: "how about a little heel turn?" Which I think was absolutely brilliant!
I have always been a fan of Cena. Admittedly even I get frustrated and bored sometimes with a few of his feuds and the Super Cena thing, but Im far from a hater. When he wants to bring it he does. I love when he went to do the Peoples Elbow, and as The Rock jumped up he grabbed onto the ropes with a smile as if to say he has learned from last time. I really enjoyed the match. People moan about the constant finishers at the end but it certainly had us all hooked. We were constantly like "Cena is definitely winning", "No Rocky has won it 100%!" "its Cenas" "its Rock" etc so it did its job.

Re: Wrestlemania 29 (will contain spoilers)
Overall I really enjoyed Wrestlemania, however the ending was sickening with Cena / Rock shaking hands. I have to disagree about Cena's performance, I found him irritating and I think he is terrible at anything aside from playing the "aren't I a great guy?" role and I think that is fake. The match was a little dull and it was obvious who was going to win, I cetainly was not on the edge of my seat.
This was the only disappointment of the night for me. I thought the others matches were very good with Punk's performance topping the lot. Taker / Punk was the match of the night for me. He is the best. End of.
I was hoping for a Dolph cash in but maybe that would have been too obvious..............
Brock / HHH was cracking and brutal - just what I wanted, Brock is fantastic and its just a joy to have him around again.
Finally, very happy that The Shield won, they deserve it and I thought they put in a great performance. Equally great that Dean Ambrose picked up the pin

Re: Wrestlemania 29 (will contain spoilers)
I liked the story telling during the match, before it devolved into a finisher-fest, I just felt the ending didn't make sense. We'd spent the entire feud being told that Cena and Rock didn't like each other, then Cena and Rocky were both incredibly cocky in the match itself mocking the other, so why did they hug and handshake at the end?

It just didn't make sense.....I found the whole ending incredibly patronising.
Re: Wrestlemania 29 (will contain spoilers)
I sat and watched wrestlemania on Monday evening with a couple of mates, and I sat there and I was bored. It was all so predictable but it wasn't even just that, I didnt think the matches were that great. Swagger and Del Rio match was a smackdown standard match at best and the Lesnar/HHH match was very slow at times.
Rock/Cena match the only match I was intrigued by and that was only a slight chance at best something was going to happen.
Its all well and good to have predictable logical booking but imo the matches didnt seem to be up to standard.
Oh and I agree with most of what ent has said,

I thought "smark" was Geordie for "smoke", as in:
"Whay aye man, Ahm just gannin' art fer a smark, like".
