The Gloves - The Boxing Board Pub Thread
First topic message reminder :
I, as well as countless other people have had enough of threads descending into utter drivel.
If you want to go wildly off topic and discuss things, then please do so in here.
Today alone has seen threads descend into conversations about Blazing Saddles, hot women, the Royal family, how to cook duck and now darts.
Is this really how we are going to attract new members?
If you want to talk about these or other similarly non boxing related matters, do so here and not on threads people have taken the time to write.
The Gloves is now open for business, now who is buying the first round?

Stupid Topic
Ladies and Gents,
A quick stupid one before i go on my break. With the continuing rise of the Pacman through the weights, how do you think he would fair against Chagaev or Povetikn? I know the weight classes are obviously amazingly different, but we the speed and ridiculous power Pacman holds, how do you think he would do against a 5ft11 - 6f1 slow plodding heavyweight?
Cheers

Re: The Gloves - The Boxing Board Pub Thread
Badly. His power is average at welter and wouldn't carry above 154, so he wouldn't put a dent in them. Also, he's not the hardest to hit so a few digs from even a limited heavy would have him in trouble (so you would think given he's been ko'd by flyweights before. If he walked through a 230lb opponent I might start investing in some of Ariza's special drinks myself).

Manny's power is not ridiculous above WW and even at WW he hasn't shown anything like one-punch knockout power.
Not sure if posted as a wind up, but regardless how limited Chagaev and co are, they would literally stop Manny in his tracks IMO

The fight would be held with a 152.2 catchweight, so definitely pacman wins both.

Tyson Fury's Wedding Brawl
After Tyson Fury's wedding caused a huge brawl, the best man ended up in court.
In front of the judge, he was trying to explain how it all happened.
Fury's Best Man: "Well, it was like this, your honour, it is the custom for the best man to have the first dance with the bride, which I was doing, nice and close like. Tyson then came over and kicked the poor bride, his own misses like, in the foo foo as hard as he could."
Judge: "Gosh, that must have been painful."
Fury's Best Man "Hurt? You are not kidding, he broke three of me flipping fingers."
Regards
Steffan

Funny story, Steffan, but you'll understand that I'm going to put this in the pub thread.
As per usual, I'll leave it here for five minutes or so in order to give everybody a chance to see where it's gone.

Fun to watch Pacquiao get knocked out within a minute? The first half decent shot that lands on him by either would finish him off

No mate its not a wind up post, more of a thinking match to be fair. Just wondered what the general perception would be. I know his power above WW isnt the best, but he has only fought Granite chin Margarito and to be fair he did put Mosley down for only his 2nd time in his career, so that power isnt TOO bad.

He's no Langford or Fitzsimmons in the punching stakes though is he, he'd have next to no chance against Froch or Ward let alone a heavyweight

This is true mate, however, i only chose Chagaev or Povetkin because of the massive speed difference. Pacman may not get caught as much against them as he would Froch or Ward

i actually rate povetkin, think he will provide wlad with his toughest challenge when he eventually faces him. as for pac man, it would be like a man hitting a child, probably down after first punch. even the poor heavyweight punch with some awsome power.

HAHA. May take a leaf out of your book and start buying out contracts even if they have 21 months left at £50 a month. Wont get bonus though, but my sub sales will rocket therefore resulting in promotion. You never know hey.

Aww you missed me really. re me being absent, we just lost two folk in our office so been up to my eyeballs at work, currently on holiday in Spain but found a bar with free wi-fi to post here and been getting my house sorted for the arrival of my baby. As for Haye I believe I posted the day after the fight that he was pee poor and there is no need for ME to do any soul searching as I wasn't the one who phoned it in. Keep smiling chaps!
