Clarke Carlise retires
Another one bites the dust
Real shame though, Clarke has been spoken highly about by a lot of players. He is one of the nicest guys in the game and he has done a lot of work of the pitch and is the PFA Chairman. I understand he is going to stay in the game in some capacity. I wonder if Northampton had beaten Bradford on Saturday he would of stayed?
All the best to him though.

He will more than likely carry on as the PFA chairman.

Lets see if he gets the balls to stand up for himself more. He was one of many I thought didnt handle the Reginald D Hunter stuff at all well

The only reason I ever gave a crap about him was because he went on countdown.

Playoff final aside Clarke was stellar this season in the claret and white. He won the vast majority of his aerial battles. He was always in the right place at the right time even when starting flat against a faster player. He was a great captain whilst Langmead was out injured and in the end the injury to Joe Widdowson was a huge blow as it really effected Jake Robinson's form because those two had amazing chemistry down the left wing.
Wish all the best to Clarke. The playoff final was nowhere near a fair reflection on the season he's had.

Surprised people are giving him a bit of stick.
Tbf when i was a young lad he nearly had me in tears, he fouled Leon Knight right at the end in a league one (then Division 2) game however no penalty was given.

Not giving him stick, but I cant say I care. Seems a nice bloke but if he wants to leave any impression in his latest role he needs to get some balls

Re: Clarke Carlise retires
You mistake stick for genuinely not caring. When a footballer is known more for being on countdown than his football, that tends to happen.

I'd say his best body of work was Question Time myself.
