Wouldn't be a bad undercard for Mayweather-Guerrero, get a bit of buzz going for May 5th 2014 as they are the 2 front it seems
While I think khan has a good style to beat Alexander I will have to go with Alexander as khan is too vulnerable

Not sure Devon has the one punch power to stop Khan, he's a bit a slickster and will struggle with Khan's speed and accuracy. Expect him to get deflated more as the fight goes on after a competitive first few rounds.

Is it official? Pre Diaz I would have said Khan. Hes tended to do better against purer boxers. Now hes loked so so vulnerable Im not sure. Alexander isnt a banger though so I lean towards Khan still. Possibly having to get off the deck to win though.

Apparently both camps announced it on Twitter last night. No official announcement as yet.

Still has plenty of pop on his punches at 147 to hurt Khan
Alexander isn't going to crumble either, only Matthysse has dropped him and he has never been hurt in other fights. Khan isn't a huge puncher at 140 so I doubt his power will be any better at 147, and he definately doesn't carry the same power Lucas does
Lesser, slower fighters have timed Khan and so I'm sure Alexander can, and it only takes a few shots for khan to go down

Amir reminds me of a staggered drunk walking from bar to bar looking for a fight... You just know he is going to get socked at some point

The Bradley fight highlighted Devon's psychological frailties to me, that's what I'm basing my 'deflating' comment on.

I think Alexander will be the favourite for this fight. Khan has looked very vulnerable in his last 4/5 fights.

Khan isn't Bradley, Khan gets hits so much whereas Bradley doenst and given Alexander will know of Khan's chin problems I doubt he'd get discouraged like the Bradley fight. He will know that all it takes is one punch in any given round whereas Bradley was undeafeated and while Devon did bottle it he was butted all night and did have 2 bad cuts over both eyes

Re: Alexander vs Khan Sep 14th Vegas
great fight, they have common opponents in maidana and kotenlik and i would say khan was more impressive of the two. i'd say khan is slight favourite, and alexander isn't a great finisher or a huge puncher so will suit khan.

Bad news for Kell Brook.........
Not sure Alexander has the power to stop Khan on his last perfromance.......
So I'll say Khan by decision

Too much is made of Alexander falling against Lucas and being discouraged against Bradley. That was at 140 and I reckon he was drained at the weight. I'll pick Alexander to outpoint Khan simply because he is the better classical boxer.

Cracking fight potentially. A year ago I'd gave fancied khan for this.. He looked able to take good boxers to the cleaners. But since Garcia, he really looks to have lost something. Hope it's just a 'getting used to new trainer' thing, but he doesnt look the same fighter. As it stands now, I'd lean to Alexander. Good match up regardless.

Great news for Brook if Khan wins. He gets a huge payday he hardly deserves.

I didn't think Khan was fighting till December. Nothing on the net about this.

I don't think this fight is happening in September. Ramadan doesn't finish until The second week of August.

Can't find anything about this fight. Those who say Khan will tko Alexander are delusional. I really can't see the step up in weight strengthening Khan's chin. Didn't he fight Diaz at 143lbs?

Re: Alexander vs Khan Sep 14th Vegas
According to the Team Alexander twitter they have said the fight will be on 7th December, I've not seen anything from Khan though. It could be posturing from Alexander's side. Isn't Brook still the mandatory for the IBF belt?
If it does go ahead I think it will be close and probably a points win for Khan, while he does have a glass chin I don't think Alexander has the power to stop him. Then again you never can tell with Khans chin though.

i thought khan getting married then ramadan would mean he would only have 6/7 weeks afterwards to train, more likely it takes place in november/december. Khan UD - great fight

Massive fight for Khan because of the golden carrot at the end of it.
Whoever wins this fight gets Mayweather next.

Remember having a cheeky tender on Alexander stopping the iron chinned urango. Lovely upper cut, easy money

Alexander had enough power to clean urangos clock, so I'm sure he has the power to send khan to queer street. Anyway this fight isn't happening in September.
Alexander by tko if it ever does happen. Khan has only shown signs of getting worse in his last couple of fights. Alexander seems back on track since the Bradley fight.

Re: Alexander vs Khan Sep 14th Vegas
Khan is the better "pure" boxer in terms of the ability to win via UD, his chin is questionable so Alexander may go for the stoppage. Fantastic fight and a real 50/50. Khan would have beaten this guy 9/10 2 years ago, but as stated, he's certainly lost something.

Re: Alexander vs Khan Sep 14th Vegas
Amir may or may not be getting better but he can still turn his career around. Alexander looked terrible against Kotelnik and Mathysse, arguably losing both fights, but he looks better at welter so moving up in weight might also work for Amir.
Having said all that, I still wouldn't like to predict an Amir Khan fight as anything can happen.

Smart/intelligent/selective/cherry (delete as applicable) from Khan's team.
Never been sold on Devon Alexander. He reminds me of Dawson or Cloud in that when the going gets tough, the tough go missing.
Very winnable fight for Khan but as mentioned before, he's currently at that stage in his career where one more slip up could be curtains and it may affect his performance.

Dave... it's also a very winnable fight for Alexander, he will outclass Khan.

Re: Alexander vs Khan Sep 14th Vegas
It's worrying that Khan doesn't seem the same when he gets tagged as he did, in say the Maidana fight. In that fight he used his legs, grabbed hold, did basically anything to not get hit. Against Garcia and Diaz he went looking for them.
Alexander showed great hand speed, and some spite in his punches against a stationary target in Purdy. Can he do that against Khan? Khan needs to go back and look at the Kotelnik fight, he was punch perfect that night and if he can use those tactics more often he would be very hard to beat.
