Doubt Hamilton will play after the way he went off. Scully should be back from USA duty.

So if Manu can start we may see Goneva revert to the wing. Otherwise it then gets interesting.

not sure why, but i think Mele might overstep the mark soon and get a citing and ban, he sometimes see's a bit feisty. I may be wrong but thats the impression i get in the first couple of games.

I too would like to see Purdy given a run out. He's a bit iffy under the high ball though going on what I've seen and that might make Cockers cautious. I hope Williams gets the bench spot or starts if Flood is available as Lamb is liable to give us all a heart attack sooner or later.

Just getting my beer in the ABC. Is it just me or is Newcastles game plan to kick it away at every opportunity? I expected more from future tigers academy players.

Manu was excellent in the first half.
Benny was consistently good.
Slater and Kitch worked well.
Thompstone and Niki Goneva were always a threat.

Manu created two of the trys in the 1st half. one through a power play smsshing a huge hole through about 5 players and the 2nd through a great handoff and offload.
Tigers were also very patchy in parts and allowed the Falcons to dictate pace but the result was never in doubt from about the 10th minute.

just watched the game, Manu had a great game and looked hungry. Bowdon had his best game in a leicester shirt (he mentioned he's never played with both Manu and Flood whislt at the tigers)

Nathan,
Bowden was dent in the second half, but in the first half he was in a flouncy strop the whole time. He looked largely disinterested in duties other than to shout at Flood and Goneva a lot, and signally failed to support flood when he broke.
Having watched the coverage now, I admit that a lot of this is not visible as he was "off camera".

Manu out for 2 months. Cramp my ar$e. We could be in some bother now. I don't fancy our chances against Montpellier without him, Montpellier slaughtered Clermont 43-3 at the weekend.

But the French T14 does more than most go with home advantage, Sam. But Montpellier were always the biggest threat anyway. It's Ulster who stand to gain the most now.

then on about 75 minutes he smashed Alex Tait into touch in the bottom corner between Clubhouse and GNC stand. When he got up he was clutching what I thought was his shoulder, but I guess it was the pec muscle.

Re: Leicester Tigers - 2013/14 Thread
We do not face Montpelier until December. I always expected those matches to be home wins.
The big one, for me, is the opener at Ravenhill. If we can get Matty Tait fit and up to speed (i assume Smith is out for too long) then a back line of:
Youngs, Flood, Thompstone, Allen, Goneva, Morris, Tait is a good one.

It'd be handy to have Manu up and running in training/LV during the IWs and to be fit, ready and available for the December HEC rounds.

Assuming that Manu is out, I wonder how much grunt we'd need
Jeff: 27/10 Wasps away
2/11 Quins home
23/11 Irish home (ideal comeback)
Guile rather than grunt needed imo. It's like being in a Leinster situation without the IRFU calling the shots for an HEC campaign.

Oh I knew that, LT.
Its no surprise that the Montpellier pack will be a totally (possibly impossibly) hard slog.
It's losing at Ravenhill that bothers me more. I was pencilling in 9 points against Ulster.

It's part of the evil PRL plan to make rugby union the new football, bankrupt everyone and bring down the the international game. I think Stalin and Hitler are in on it as well. I'm sure that's what some Rabo fans told me.

Looks like Manu won't require surgery which is good, he's likely to back for the double header against Montpellier in December.
http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Leicester-Tigers-Manu-Tuilagi-won-t-need-surgery/story-19848478-detail/story.html
Also Rob Hawkins is out until December, first op on his shoulder didn't go well and so he needs to go under the knife again.

Benjamin, Purdy and Catchpole with first half tries all converted by Lamb. Bentley has two pens for Glaws.
Positive display so far given half the backline have no AP games to date and considering Catchpole, Purdy and Price all played for Notts at the weekend.

38-16 win for the A team. Penalty try, Noone and Scott Steele add second half tries to the efforts of Purdy, Benjamin and Catchpole in the first half.
