Re: Pacquiao v Canelo
Surely Canelo is too big? Manny is at his best sub-140... Never smelt 150lbs... Its not even realistic. Manny comes in on fight night 148 - maximum, Canelo comes in 170-ish..

Re: Pacquiao v Canelo
I thought de la Hoya was too big, ok turned out he was shot. Pacman might be too fast and carries power as we know..., would be interesting.

Manny would have the fight at catch weight at 141.

Canelo vis brutal stoppage. Canelo FAR too big and skilled for someone like Pacquiao. Face first only works for so long.

Bloody, the Oscar fight was at welter, I think. Plus Manny actually came in heavier fight night. Not happening with Canelo

True AZ as he is untested, I was just stating that I think he is technically better than Pacquiao.

Pacquiao has all the shots. Im yet to see Canelo's range, so I dont know where the "technical" comparison arises.

Re: Pacquiao v Canelo
I just don't think Pacquiao is a technically gifted boxer. He has speed and power. No real jab, defence non existent, poor boxing ability. He just jumps in and out relying on speed, power and chin. If he fights a boxer he gets shown up. JMM beat him in 3 of the 4 fights (in my eyes) and I also had the Bradley fight close. Canelo seems to have a good jab, solid power, speed etc. He is only 22 as well. Yes he is untested but he has the attributes to be technically gifted.

manny is shot, he hasn't shown anything like his old form since the tail end of 2010 when he beat margartio.

Re: Pacquiao v Canelo
If Pacquiao were to win this it would only be on points. Pacquiao hasn't scored a stoppage win since Cotto and that was what 4 years ago? Hard to imagine him stopping the naturally bigger Canelo.
If I had to chose, I'd go for Canelo by late stoppage.

Anyone with decent eye sight saw that manny won that fight easily by 9/10 rounds

Re: Pacquiao v Canelo
I'd make Canelo favourite at this point in both their careers but Manny still has the tools to cause trouble with speed and power.
Manny's camp didn't like fighting again against 154'ers after the Marg fight and Canelo wouldn't be a walking punch bag like him and would use his considerable size difference to bully him effectively.
I don't think Canelo would stop him but would win a close but clear UD.

Re: Pacquiao v Canelo
Would be a good fight for however long it lasted but would be bit unfair as the size advantage would be huge.
Feel Pac would get quite badly beaten as they would basically just go at each other.
Very different to the way Mayweather will fight him and Pac is not defensively strong enough against a much bigger heavy puncher.
Canelo stoppage any time from round five.
