50 for Joe Root, 50 of 43. Fine hand from the young man!.

37/0 in the PP? I could get used to that, better not though. Brilliant by England so far, 275 has to be the minimum aim now. Trott gone now though, perfect platform for Morgan!

Jonathan Trott's gone for 76, of Herath's last ball, LBW.

Well batted Trott
He also ran superbly well, to run and push Root to make those runs up!

Fifty for Root He didn't muck about did he ?
And ...Trott gone...but he has done his job , admirably ...
Ideal situation for Morgan (at the risk of hexing him )

Trott out LBW - looked a bit leg-sideish on first viewing, but tend to agree with Mysti (!) probably a good time to get out for him anyway. Now Morgan, Buttler et al need to earn their stripes a bit - they were poor last time.

Another reason I am confident of England defending whatever total they set...reckon their fielding will be way better.

I find ignoring Duty can be the best policy at times msp...
Malinga goes for 12 off an over - just my point, you can be as good as you like, but at the death you will go for a few when the batsmen are well set.

Five overs left and an outside chance of 300 ...reckon they'll settle for about 290.
Which ought to be plenty.

Outside chance of 300 as well seeing how Sri Lanka's morale is rapidly dropping.

Re: Champions Trophy - England and Wales 2013
Root gone, excellent knock. Not just his footwork, but the way he builds his innings, plays the percentage shots and runs so well - a great example to youngsters as has been said.
Ideal time for Buttler - England want him in the last 5 where he can just whack without thinking. If he comes off - 300+ time, if he doesn't then 285-290 which should still be enough.
OH dear, Morgan out next ball - Buttler needs to do something now.

Slinger kicks Morgan out with a beauty.
Oh it wasn't. The lucky git.
And England looking a bit of trouble, wickets tumbling and well short of the 300 sky guys keep saying they need.
Sky seem to have SL as big favs.

Poor decision from Bowden. Sometimes he likes to make a "decisive" call ...and like this one , gets it wrong.

Rubbish decision by Bowden. Then again, the chucker did scream right in his face so I don't blame him for being intimidated. SL seem to have a habit of over-appealing.

That was truly awful umpiring from Billy Bowden. Absolute sh1t.
Morgan has shuffled outside off, Malinga slings it away, not even threatening the stumps. Utter crap

Oh England. Falling apat again.
Another shambles.
So butler fails again and they won't make 280.
SL will be laughing. Way to ruin a good innings and make a team that weren't so good get an easy target.

Our big hitters are little more than big disappointments. Fill the team with proper cricketers, they seem to be far more effective apart from the odd 1 in 10 occasion...Wasted a great platform yet again.
