India did get 10 runs per over in the last 5.........chasing 130 for a championship win.....10 runs short.....owing to all the sttuters.
neverthless runs on the board.......and it's Eng's game to lose now

So India end up with 129- 205 runs below the par score. Should be a smooth chase for England . 90-2 in 15 overs, and leave it to the middle order to finish it off.

This. People don't bowl yorkers for one simple reason: they don't work anymore, batsmen have got too good at hitting yorkers away for runs, nowadays you have to be much more clever than that.liverbnz wrote:Sky showed an a piece this morning which showed that length balls and the short stuff was hit for less runs than the 'Yorker' full length balls which were going at a S/R of 150+.Olly wrote:Still don't understand why we don't bowl yorkers

Bops ends up as far and away our best bowler in this innings. Let him open, it's his day to shine.

A lot of those aren't proper yorkers though, they are slightly short of a yorker.

Get the feeling it's a good total with Indias attack and tough conditions.
India ahead here. 120+ looked good.
Bowlers were taken apart a little at the end.

Par score is 149, and that's with an extra guy allowed outside the inner ring

Re: Champions Trophy - England and Wales 2013
A score of 129 isn't much in a T-20. Besides that, such a total would suit the approach of the England top order all that much. The likes of Morgan and Buttler would need to get in a couple of very good overs. The rain seems to have enough of the damage and has beaten a retreat. But the outfield would keep the ball wet and that would make life very uncomfortable for the 2 Indian spinners.
All in all, England's game to lose, 100 %.

What happens with a tie? Super over or shared trophy?

England chasing vs Australia in the T20 final was one of the most nerve wracking chases I remember.

Horribly nervous by Cook. Poking at one, bottom-edging another, and now edged to first slip. 3/1, 5 dots in a row. Eeeeek. Need a boundary to break the shackles, and remind India they have a low total.

Re: Champions Trophy - England and Wales 2013
poor poor start from eng. what I feared. can't score fast enough, lost wickets and chasing a t20 total without the t20 type players. doesn't look good. The crowd will be delighted their team win this.

Trott can calm even the most nervous of Englishmen down. Two boundaries included in an 11 run over all from the bat of Trott. 17/1 after 3 overs.

7 coming from the 4th over. No boundaries, no need. Just steady, firm progress. 24/1.

Real test of young Root here then.
Always said Morgan/Buttler need to come off, looking more likely that they will

Trott calming nothing. Gone too early. Eng have a hell of a job getting out of this.
India certainly are a great batting bowling and fielding unit now. No shame if you lose to the best.

30/2 after 6. Singles, twos and the odd boundary are all that England require.

Top-edge from Root. Oh gawd, 40/3. Thank goodness we picked the Bres, his extra batting may prove useful.

It's over. shame but as I feared England bucked under the pressure. The crowd against them certainly can't help and they've buckled mentally.

There's a lot of spin out there for Ashwin. Not easy out there at all - 41/3 after 8. 89 from 72 required.

Sexy reverse sweep from Bell to release some of the pressure. Then a stumping appeal.....I think he's safe. But he's given out?!
How? Awful decision.
46/4 - England teetering.

Just finished watching the rugby JWC final where England were on the end of terrible decisions; have switched over to see Bell given stumped when in his crease! At least officiating is consistently Anglophobic today!
