The Official "Ipswich Town win the 2014/15 Championship" thread
I'm confident for the new season for Ipswich. Starting to make some good signings on the cheap i.e Jay Tabb, Daryl Murphy and Cole Skuse. Ipswich have a very good spine in the team now. Just need a couple of wingers and another GK to sign and we will do well this season. Tough start against Reading and QPR as the first two away games of the season though.

I actually think Ipswich will do well next season.
Dark horses for play offs.
McCarthy did well to get you away from the drop.
Now time to push on.

I agree, they also have a fairly big budget (Well they did 2 seasons ago, not sure if its still the case!)
They have just been missing the right manager for a few years, McCarthy is the one i think.

Our budget is rubbish. We have signed a lot of free agents but they are all good championship players.

Joel Grant isn't a championship standard player I don't think he's ever played in the Championship...
He was on the books at Crewe a few seasons ago and struggled looking out of his depth coming up against League One players. He's got a lot of pace and a couple of tricks so maybe as an impact sub he could change one or two games next season it's quite laughable to see he's joined a side like Ipswich. Maybe Crewe didn't get the best out of him, but he's hardly been prolific in League Two the last couple of seasons....

10 signings made before the season starts.
David Mcgoldrick, Cole Skuse, Jay Tabb, Paul Anderson, Christophe Berra, Dean Gerken, Freddy Veseli, Ryan Tunnicliffe, Daryl Murphy and Jack Doherty.
Unbeaten in pre-season. Bring on Reading next week!

Good 3-1 victory yesterday against middlesbrough, the crowd was quality through out the whole match. Great goals from David McGoldrick as well!

Butterfield started and Kamara came off the bench. I think boro were let down by having no support for Jutkiewicz. Butterfield was not as attacking as he should have been, especially as Leadbitter and Whitehead were in central midfield with him.

Another win today against Yeovil, who are a decent side. Great goal by Cresswell and very close to the playoffs now.

Some pubs don't allow away fans nick so if you want to go to the best pubs you will need to cover your brighton shirt if you wear one. The two away pubs are near the station. In town, the cricketers and golden lion are nice pubs and a 10 minute walk to Portman road, they're Witherspoon pubs so they are cheapNickisBHAFC wrote:Im coming up for the game against you lot on the 28th.

I never wear football shirts to games really, unless its boiling hot! I only wear football shirts when im playing the sport!
Does the weatherspoon pub allow away fans? usually get a tasty burger and a pint there for a very reasonable price.
Cheers for the heads up though mate

They can be quite strict with away fans nick but if you keep to yourself, you should be fine. I can't go unfortunately as I am back at uni then but I think it should be a good match hopefully. Tickets are expensive as well

Yeah lucky i managed to get an under 20's ticket but even that was £23, a full adult price was £32
Ahhh well nothing can beat Palace's £30 ticket for visiting a disgusting stadium, in a very classless place.
Ipswich 2-1 Brighton, my prediction mate.

Mick's 1 year anniversary today, what a manager he has been in that time. Hopefully a win in front of the sky cameras against Barnsley will be the icing on the cake
