Terrible first round that they both deserved to lose.

Unless Banks walks into something silly he should finish this soon.

Banks seemed to just let him re group there, Mitchell was a bit all over the place for the 1st half of that round until Banks just eased off.

Honestly what is banks playing at, he hasn't done anything since the third where he was close to finishing it

My god why isn't Banks throwing anything? He can't miss with his right hand but just isn't throwing it this round or the last.

I like the Irony of Wlad complaining of a lack of action.

I don't think I will ever watch a Banks fight again, he is infuriating.

very boring fight and banks is just not even throwing anything and mitchell is throwing barely anything as well.

Banks just looks so disinterested, even when he is walking back to his corner he just looks like he doesn't care.

I thought the first Banks Mitchell fight ended so matter-of-factly that there was no need for a rematch

Re: malinaggi v Broner & Banks v Mitchell thread
Banks could win this if he just opted to lead because Mitchell hasnt much of a chin. Instead he is looking for a the picture perfect shot but is giving the fight away in doing so. Cant understand how someone who is a trainer can be so slack. Not much by way of ring smarts out there.

Re: malinaggi v Broner & Banks v Mitchell thread
How can Banks be a trainer and be this tactically inept? He is much better at boxing on the inside than Mitchell and wobbles him with everything he lands but has spent most of the fight doing sweet F all from distance.

Id be disappointed if this was a sparring session, nevermind a fight. Banks is one step up from Oliver McCall against Lewis.

Re: malinaggi v Broner & Banks v Mitchell thread
I've never seen a fighter lose a fight he is so easily capable of winning, no urgency at all from Banks knowing he must have been losing. Absolutely baffling.

well that was a wash out. mitchell looked incapable of hurting banks.

Shocking endorsement for Banks as a trainer. Would you hire that guy?

He didn't look like he gave a toss that he'd just lost either, would a win have put him in line to fight one of the brothers and a conflict of interest for him?

Well if he makes more training them than he does fighting, I suppose there's an something in that

Literally fuming at Banks, what a fix and I hope he gets his purse taken off of him, disgraceful. He had it won, 100% then have up
Paulie-Broner up now, think Paulie will survive untill the second half of the fight then Broner will force the stoppage

Re: malinaggi v Broner & Banks v Mitchell thread
He was highly ranked by the WBC behind Stiverne, a win might have got him madatory position after Stiverne. Vitali is so old now that Banks could have simply waited for him to retire in the next 12 - 18 months. Good news for Haye/Fury if that comes off as it could well be made a number 1 eliminator.
Even if Banks didnt intend on fighting either Klitschko, he should at least have been thinking about his reputation as a trainer. Nobody is going to want his services after that. I wonder what he actually does for Wlad? Probably just holds the pads and carries the equipment. Wlad is so far ahead of the rest and well drilled now that I could train him without it having any effect.

Paulie is tough as they come so shouldn't get blown out easy and could take a lead on the cards given how lazy Broner can be in the early rounds, that might make it interesting but I can't see him going all 12.

Broners just trying to bully Paulie
He takes so many more punches then Floyd did, he's a stationary target and his body is open

paulie all the way. if he can stay away from broner's power punch and keep up the tempo, he should get it.

I've got it 3-1 to Paulie, Broner not doing an awful lot and is missing himself

6th again for Broner, he's softening him up now, looks a touch tired himself though.

Brokers taking control now, but hasn't looked good
Easy to hit and if it was someone harder hitting than malignaggi, he would have been in real trouble

I can't see Paulie has anything to turn this around now other than just throwing even more than he has been, scored the last 4 for Broner and I can't see him losing any more unless he's just plain out worked.

He's been a lot less impressive than khan and Hatton and they fought a less shopworn version than Broners facing

On this showing Broner might struggle at 147 with the names in and around there. He has been a pretty monstrous SFW and LW that has generally outsized his opponents significantly. When thats taken away, I wonder will he cope.

Big finish to the 11th for Broner, that round was up for grabs until the last 30 seconds and he just done enough, could be important as he gave up some cheap ones early.

Re: malinaggi v Broner & Banks v Mitchell thread
Broner has this win easily, but I'm less than impressed
Paulie has struggled with every A level fighter he's been in with and has been stopped edited, Broner has been the least impressive of all of them
He's nothing like Floyd, he gets got way too much and doenst move his feet or head anywhere close to what Floyd does, he relies on power and speed instead of skill

Re: malinaggi v Broner & Banks v Mitchell thread
He struggled tonight when his power wasn't a massive difference maker like it was when he was a beast at Super Featherweight and Lightweight, it'll leave him vulnerable to be outworked against better fighters than Paulie. I'd like to see him back down at Light Welterweight presuming he can still make it as he'll carry more power there and there's great fights for him as well. Complete tool though Broner.
