Nah.
Not as good as '05.
At my feet is the ol' dog Ash.
Freddie the cat we got is still knockin' around.
Shane the other cat we got at the time was found dead under an English bush.

I blame your bird Hurley for killing Our Shane. He used to be nice 'n fat, but after hooking up with England he got all skinny and weird looking. I'm not sure who actually owns his current lips and i-bro's.
Agar 63. You're lucky we didn't bring our entire U19 side.

All gossip of Liz and Shane related to English bushes is strictly privet.

Ashton's going to be an absolute World beater.
Only 19 and a few weeks ago he was playing for a London suburban club.

Re: The rugby fans' Ashes thread
Impressive debut from Agar and it would have been great for him to get to three figures, even though he should have been given out stumped by the third umpire. That decision cost England about 120 runs!
It was a really good call by Lehmann to take all the pressure off him by having him come in at 11. He won't bat there again, and seems a bit of a compulsive hooker (it is a rugby thread after all), so if he's to repeat his heroics he'll need to curb that instinct.

The feature of the 2005 series was that someone stood up and took the game away from the Oz.
Now is the time for Bell & Bairstow to do that before the bowlers to come in and sweep them out of the game.

Plenty of ethical stuff for where we as amateur supporters and pro sportsmanship divides.
Imo Broad should've walked. No question.
Mind you an ethical pro rugby player shouldn't claim a try he knew he didn't.

Don't agree about Broad walking. The Umpires are professional and there is no consensus about when a batsman should walk - the spirit of the game is that the vast majority of batsmen don't walk. There is ample technology and opportunity to challenge Umpires' decisions so Broad was perfectly within his rights to stay until given out. Broad did nothing wrong but abide by the laws - as adjudicated by the Umpire.
Rugby is very different where players purposely try to gain advantage by "infringing" and hope the Ref doesn't pick up on it.

I would love all cricketers to walk. But they just don't - Cricket, like football , like tennis, like this sport is all about trying to con the officials these days.. Its part of the game..

Last time I looked the only active discussions on the Cricket board were Surrey, IPL and the regular fanzines by KP_Fan.

I'd love to see team challenges in RU.
But for me Broad took the edge off that win as a sporting contest for me as a sports fan.
