Looks very impressive for his age, great head movement, tricky the way he keeps his left low & jabs from low, like Froch, hard to see coming, & goes well to the body with good balance, seems to have all the right attributes
18 years old & now 7-0, how far can this kid go?
World Champion by 21 like Tyson says?
Should they rush him? even with the division like it is now, we've seen what can happen going to deep too early like Price, he was way lacking the ring experience to be taking on Thompson & it showed

a little soon to say, but he doesn't seem as gun hoe as tyson can be, and boxes of the backfoot as well as the front foot which is good to see. maybe its time to drop him in with a mcdermott type and see how he compares to an early tyson. that said if he wants to build slowly then he is young enough to do so, and if he has true ambitions of been a world champion, that may be the wiser route.

Didn't watch all the video but the bit I did Hughie threw a lot of leather and the guy took it. Maybe Hughie isn't as big a hitter as he first looked.

One amusing thing for me is that Tyson Fury has already said he will not fight him because he is family. There is therefore an admittedly outside possibility that we go another several years with the two top boxers refusing to fight each other for the same (ish) excuse.

Re: Footage of Hughie Fury's Fight from last night
Although its very early to make judgements, I'm getting really excited about him
Don't think he should be looking to try and break any records, but he is talented and is moving along very nicely
He debuted in the last week of march so just under 4 months, and has had 7 fights in 4 different countries. He's travelling well and doing it the right way and is not getting protected. The guy he fought last night, in his last 2 fights, went the distance with both Ustinov and dimitrenko who are very good fighters
He's still raw but you can see why he was such a good amateur. Good balance, quick snapping jab, good mover for a big guy and looks like a real thinker in the ring
Not as big as Tyson and not a huge puncher, but at 18 he's still growing and his power will develop as he matures

Yeah at 18 & doing all that training he's got a lot more power / size to come.
I'd like to see him clean up winning British, Commonwealth & Euro titles & scaling it up from there, think it's always better when a fighter takes the traditional route, instead of fighting for meaningless WBU titles or whatever like so many do these days
Definitely one to watch & comes across better outside the ring than his cousin

While agreed id like to see him go the traditional Lonsdale route, the British route will always be there for him in another couple more fights. I think they are moving him along perfectly by getting him on fight cards around the world. It'll keep the hype train away from him for a while. It's hard to believe he's 18, I wouldn't worry about his power yet, he's still only a boy, they seem to he concentrating on technique, which seems the right place to focus to me. Hopefully the kid has a bit of iron in his jaw.

How about Price against the younger Fury? That would be a fight I would watch. The division s really getting interesting now. In a year or to we could have both the Fury's, Haye, Price, Joshua all from Britain being world champion contenders and then boxers like Wilder from the U.S. And now we have Haye v Fury to look forward to at the moment.

Why put a 18 year old in with a guy who has one punch power like Price has
Boxing is about levels and Price couldn't handle the jump from domestic to fringe world level, so why make Hughie make an even bigger jump up in class than the one price took

Hughie looks a good prospect, and the clear determination to stay active is something I really like about him. Can only be good for his sharpness in the ring and would hope he's getting the quality of sparring between fights to copliment that activity.
He has a confidence and maturity in the ring that belies his age and indicates he's clearly the better potential fighter out of he and Tyson. Even Tyson himself was admitting this was the case on C5 a few weeks ago.

That is an impressive stoppage, his opponent also put Dimitrenko over as well not too long ago.
Considering he is very active and he is winning and winning in style, its pretty hard not to get excited by him.
Onwards and upwards!

Exactly. Other than Haye, who was really a cruiserwight there has been very little excitement in the division. The Klitschko brothers have been bad for the division. But I think now that either with or without the Klitschkos the division will start to look up with the new crop coming through.

How have the KK been bad for the division? Its not their fault no one can beat them! Wlad is an all time great!

Jack-rabbitpunch, this is a whole can of worms you don't want to open up. It is like making eye contact with the nutter on the bus; it never ends well!! I do agree with your sentiment, but putting Wlad as ATG is probably over stating it for me, personally.

World champ by 21............I guess Tyson Fury doesn't see himself having a Holmes-like career then........
Unless they both rule side by side..........Imagine that...........Geez and Boxing is struggling now..

Truss, a quote from me earlier in the thread. Tyson has already said he won't fight his cousin in the ring. His master plan is: -
1. Beat Haye to put him top of all contenders
2. Beat Vitali to take his title
3. Beat Wlad to become undisputed
4. Vacate one belt for Hughie to fight for
He stated this on CH 5 when he announced the fight with Haye was 99% complete. Well, part one of his master plan is in motion.

I still say Dumb and Dumber 2 is a little gem that surpasses the first one! Mind you, it would have been better if they had made it into a comedy.
