The 2013/14 SPFL Thread
First topic message reminder :
Don't know how many fans of Scottish Football are on here but thought I'd create a thread to keep it updated throughout the Season to keep anyone interested in the loop.
With rebranding of our game this is a thread to post or ask about certain teams results from the Scottish Premiership, Championship or League 1 & 2
I'm really looking forward to this season, with Play-Offs introduced between the Premiership and the Championship it really opens up competition at both the bottom of the Premiership and from mid table upward in thr Championship.
News that 7 of the 12 Premiership clubs have already posted higher season book sales than last season is encouraging, 3 clubs remain at the same level and only 2 have reported a deficit, one of those clubs is Dundee Utd who are at similar levels of an average top flight season, their season tickets spiked last year due to the return of the Tayside Derby
I think its safe to say Celtic will win the Premiership but I think the race for 2nd could be very interesting, I expect 3/4 clubs to be genuine contenders for that, the relegation battle will also be very interesting this year, Hearts thanks to Adminstration will start on -15 so they're favourites for the drop, especially considering how depleted their squad is but with the Relegation Play-Off spot introduced this season 2nd 3rd and possibly 4th bottom teams wont be entirely safe and Hearts despite being depleted still have a very decent core 13/14 players who if they stay fit could climb the league.
Similarly the Championship will be intriguing this year, Dundee have to be favourites, they've made some good signings, Morton lost their best player from last season in Tidser but with the Play-Offs now introduced they'll feel a top 4 finish is the least they'll aim for, Falkirk have a really talented group of boys but having sold Lyle Taylor to Sheffield Utd for £250k they'll need a goalscorer if they want to be contenders, I really like Livingstone, great little club, lovely stadium, excellent playing surface too, have brought through some very decent players in recent seasons, got some cracking boys there at the moment, finally Alloa for me will be worth the watching, Paul Hartley went there 2 years ago and they won the 3rd Division, last season they won the 2nd Division Play-Offs...Hartley has built a solid team that likes playing attack minded direct football, it'd be a major shock if Hartley leads Alloa to the Premiership but I'd not be overly shocked to see him lead his team to the Play-Offs.

Re: The 2013/14 SPFL Thread
Week 7 Preview
With all 6 fixtures last weekend ending in Away wins there is every chance this weekend could see all home teams taking full points, I doubt it though, some very interesting games going on this weekend.
Aberdeen vs ICT could be a cracker, I'd say this is game if the day, an Aberdeen win takes them to within 3 points of top spot and a draw at least will be enough to keep Inverness top after their impressive start to the season, I really like what Terry Butcher is building at ICT, very creative, I think Aberdeen have a real steel about them though as well as a bit of talent and a new found belief, I think this is a score draw 2-2
Celtic vs St Johnstone could be interesting, St Johnstone have won the opening fixture between these two teams in the last two years, Celtic last season were notoriously poor after a Champions League game and struggled last time out aftwr Europe at Tannadice, St Johnstone after a good start to the season have struggled for form, a trip to Celtic Park is probably best for them right now as it takes the expectation away from them, Celtic were excellent if a little wasteful in Milan and I feel Anthony Stokes is a man desperate to prove he is the best striker at the club, I can see a comfortable Celtic win tomorrow 3-0
Hibernian vs St Mirren - Hibernian got a huge win last weekend, they've slowly started getting their act togethet after a poor start, interestingly though their wins so far have came away from home were the pressure isn't as high, St Mirreb have been utterly hopeless this season though, they've been poor all year and only won 1 game this calander year, with Paul Heffernan and James Collins looking like they've struck up a good understanding and the Buddies looking desperately short I can't see past Hibs tomorrow 2-0
Partick Thistle vs Kilmarnock - Thistle have got plenty of plaudits so far this season for the way they've played, they've picked up some impressive results to go with those performances, interestingly though they've only picked up 2 points from the 9 available at home, they seem better suited to playing away from home and catching teams on the break, Kilmarnock are my tip to go down this season, I feel they just dont have enough in the locker but they do have some decent players and in Kris Boyd they have someone who'll score goals at any given moment, I can see Kilmarnock picking up their first win of the season tomorrow, think it'll be a tight affair but 1-2 Killie for me
Ross County vs Hearts - County were excellent last year but have struggled with 2nd season syndrome this season, they've lost 4 of their first 6 games and only have 4 points, Hearts started -15 points behind but have clawed back 3 points on County already after only 6 games, that looked more impressive two games ago before Hearts lost last 2 games against the best two clubs in the Country, I can see this being a real cup tie like battle, I think Hearts could just sneak this, after two defeats on the bounce they'll not want to go on a big losing run so its 0-1 to Hearts for me
Dundee Utd vs Motherwell - Motherwell have been best of the rest in Scotland for the last 3 years, McCall has been brilliant for Motherwell, they've lost a lot of players though and many predicted they wouldn't be as good, McCall has recruited well though, he replaced like for like and while they may not be at thw same level as the guys that left they're going about their business nice and quietly, they've won 4 of their first 6 games, Dundee Utd have been very steady too after a slow start and they scored 4 goals in two of their last 3 league games, they have some of the best young talent in thw Country and while I cant see them sustaining a European challenge or making the top 6 this season I do think they've got enough to give it a gopd challenge and I fully expect them to rise to the challenge of percieved big games lime this fixture, im going for 2-1 Utd on Sunday

I do apologise Doc, I like United a lot and like how Jackie has them playing but with such a young squad I think it'll be too tall an order for United this season, also with Goodwillie only signed until January then they could be a bit short up top, they've got the ability im just not sure they'll be as consistant as Aberdeen, ICT, Motherwell or Hibs

Re: The 2013/14 SPFL Thread
Just kidding, I agree our position in the top 6 is by no means guaranteed, that said I'm pleased with the squad we have, and it has a feeling of the early Levin days about it, I'm pleased that our defence seems more settled than last season, Robertson seems to have been a great signing in this respect, looked good when I saw him and my missus brother (the oracle of all things United) is raving about him.
Ironically, despite our recent results, I'm still concerned about where our goals will come from, there's a lot of chat about Ciftci (wiki'd it) after his first league goal against county, and we know Goodie has done it in the past, but fact is atm Armstrong is the top scorer in the league, and if that remains the case we could start to struggle.
Slightly offended you've got us down as less consistent than Hibs though.

Re: The 2013/14 SPFL Thread
I think Hibs should finish top 4 to be honest, although with a better more attack minded manager they should be comfortably challenging for second with the sqyad they have.
I really like Ciftci, the last timr I mentioned him to you he went and banged in a couple of goals, I think he'll be good for 12-15 goals this season, goals do seem to be a problem but making chances aren't, Giodwillie has played well but just hasn't had his shooting boots on, I think if you weren't making chances it'd be time to worry but the fact United are making chances allows me to think scoring goals will not be a major problem.
Ryan Gauld could be a big star, the boys got talent

Re: The 2013/14 SPFL Thread
Some tastey ties in the last 8 of the League Cup, don't see why all 8 clubs wouldn't fancy their chances.
Hibernian vs Hearts
Inverness C.T vs Dundee Utd
Morton vs St Johnstone
Motherwell vs Aberdeen
For me with those ties I think Hibs are the favourites for the Cup followed by ICT & Aberdeen.
Dundee Utd have been banging in goals for fun, reports this morning suggest Real Madrid are interested in young Ryan Gauld

Re: The 2013/14 SPFL Thread
Week 8 Preview
Kilmarnock vs Celtic, after almost losing points last weekend when failing to kill of St Johnstone and then going out the League Cup at home to Morton I'm expecting a big reaction from Celtic, with the striker berth for the Barca game up for grabs I'm fully expecting Celtic to win this one comfortably, Kilmarnock have struggled for a win all season, I expect them to keep it tight until they ose a goal then be exposed when they eventually open up: Kilmarnock 0-3 Celtic
Hearts vs Dundee Utd, Hearts won a cup thriller on Wednesday night on pens after a 3-3 draw with Queen of the South, it could be the boost they needed after losing 3 league games on the bounce and the collapse at Ross County last week, Utd have been great value for money so far this season and have been scoring goals for fun...Goodwillie just bagged a Hat-Trick midweek too, I think this could be a good battle: Hearts 1-1 Dundee Utd
Inverness C.T vs Hibernian, game of the day for me, both teams are bang in form, Hibs have came on leaps and bounds and ICT got their first defeat of the season at Pittodrie last weekend, I can see goals in this game: ICT 3-1 Hibs
Motherwell vs Ross County, County got a win out of nowhere last weekend and its took the pressure off but Motherwell have went about their business fairly impressively this season, lost a lot of quality but have won 4 and drawn 1 of their first 7 games, these are the type of games McCall has won since joining the Steelmen: Motherwell 2-0 Ross County
St Johnstone vs Particl Thistle, the Saints started the season so well but have tailed off slightly as of late, they got a fine win away to Championship leaders Hamilton in the League Cup midweek and looked to be getting back to the level they were at previously, Thistle have been a breath of fresh air this season with their pacey counter attack system, they've struggled to kill teams off at home and are yet to win at Firhill but have won twice already in only 3 games on the road, they took a bit of a beating in midweek at Tannadice but they're definitely suited to playing away: St Johnstone 2-2 Partick Thistle
St Mirren vs Aberdeen, the Dons are in cracking form, only 3 points off the top and an emphatic win away to Falkirk in midweek they'll definitely fancy their chances against a Buddies side who look devoid of any real genuine belief, St Mirren have played a bit better recently but dont look like winning a game soon, that could change on Monday but its more than just luck they'll need, I can see a rejuvenated Aberdeen side going to St Mirren Park and taking the 3 points back up the road with them: St Mirren 0-2 Aberdeen

I'll be really surprised if Billy McKay hasn't got a few clubs after him in January, since the start of last season he has scored 31 league goals in 41 league games, overall total is 36 goals in 54 games

Re: The 2013/14 SPFL Thread
The problem with our squad is it's pointlessly expensive. We are paying over £7 million on wages to players who at teams struggle to beat players the standard of me and you. (Not as much as an exaggeration as it sounds)
£14 million loss posted to get out of Division 3, it's disgraceful, I am expecting administration two sooner rather than later.

Its an astronomical figure for that level, I can see why they'd need what they considered better standard of players just because they have a stadium to fill and they'd also possibly want to have a top flight team on the pitch incase they drew Celtic in one if the cups.
Its not a good enough reason to gamble with the clubs finances though.

Re: The 2013/14 SPFL Thread
Week 9 Predictions
Celtic vs Motherwell, the Well have been excellent once again this season, despite losing a lot of important players Stuart McCall has once again worked winders and built a good squad, cant see them finishing outside of the top 4 again this season, Celtic have been quite clinical in the league this season, I think although Motherwell aren't a big name like Hearts Hibs or Aberdeen their performances against Celtic last season wont have gone unnoticed, both teams won 2 lost 2 in their games last season. I think this will be a game Lennon will have the Bhoys fired up for. Celtic 3-1 Motherwell
Dundee Utd vs Kilmarnock - until last weeks goalless draw at Tyncastle Utd had bagged 17 goals in 5 previous games, very free scoring side although McNamara claims they're not clinical enough, Kilmarnock have looked poor a lot this season but have looked like they're turning a corner as of late, probably should have won at Firhill 2 weeks ago and scored 2 good goals against Celtic last week, in Kris Boyd they'll always get goals but I'm not sure they'll keep them out, Dundee Utd 2-0 Kilmarnock
Hearts vs St Mirren - Possibly the game of the day, after 8 games Hearts have cut the minus 15 deficit to just 9 points over St Mirren, a win either way could pull Hearts to winthin 6 points of the Buddies or could see them land 12 points behind them, St Mirren's League form has been woeful since the start of 2013 and they've only won 2 points all season, they looked a lot better against Aberdeen on Monday but ended up lucky not losing that game, hard to see a win coming for either at this moment, Hearts 0-0 St Mirren
Ross County vs Aberdeen - County have made a lot of changes this season, they'll be safe as there will be at least 3 clubs worse than them last season but while they'll win a fair share I dont think they'll be as effective as last season, Aberdeen have been very resolute and show a hunger and a desire and a belief that was missing, I think Niall McGinn looks as if he's back to his best too which has to give the Dons a boost, Ross County 1-2 Aberdeen
St Johnstone vs Inverness C.T - St Johnstone started the season like the finished the last one but have been very average since late August, ICT have been magnificent this season, Butcher has a number of match winners and the football they play has been excellent, Doran, Foran and McKay should just be a bit too much for the Saints, St Johnstone 0-2 ICT
Partick Thistle vs Hibernian, Thistle have played some excellent stuff this season and picked up a lot of points away from home, for one reason or another they've just not been able to win at home, 3 draws and a loss in 4 games, Hibs have got their act together recently but as last week proved they're a long long way to go before they can truly challenge for 2nd place, I think we'll get another draw at Firhill this week, going for a score draw 2-2

Re: The 2013/14 SPFL Thread
Week 10 Preview
Hibs vs Celtic: Game of the day for me, Hibs have won 3 of their last 4 games and climbed the table, Celtic have started the league campagin in blistering form, I don't think Hibs are doing as well as their form may suggest, they're still very negative and don't play to the strengths of the players they've got available in my opinion, Stokes and Commons have been outstanding this season as has Efe Ambrose, Virgil Van Dijk and Scott Brown, I feel Celticc will prove to be too strong and expect them to win comfortably - Hibs 1-3 Celtic
Aberdeen vs Dundee Utd: Big game at Pittodrie, two clubs hopinf to build on a solid foundation with young vibrant managers, Utd have scored a lot of goals this season in all competitions, hit four goals 3 times already, Aberdeen are more solid now with the ability to hurt teams too, they've had a very steady start to the season, I think both teams will fancy their chances of taking the 3 points but feel Home advantage may just swing this - Aberdeen 2-1 Dundee Utd
Kilmarnock vs Ross County: both clubs have had a slow start to the season although County are easily the more stable of the two, Kilmarnock haven't won yet this season but I think in the last 3/4 games they have shown a better belief, I think it'll be tenth time lucky this week - Kilmarnock 1-0 Ross County
Motherwell vs Hearts: Hearts are in dire straights at the moment, after a promising start they haven't won since week 3, losing two late goals and the 3 points to Ross County really knocked them back then losing the 6 pointer on Week 9 to St Mirren was a bitter blow, they need a win badly but its hard to see were one will come from, Motherwell have continued their excellent form ubder Stuart McCall despite losing their best players, no secret formulas, fast tricky wingers who get the ball in the box for a big striker, Old school football but very effective - Motherwell 2-0 Hearts
St Mirren vs St Johnstone: St Mirren after a horrendous start have picked up 4 points in their last 2 games despite many thinking they'd lose both, shown real character too, St Johnstone have been patchy, started well then faded but seem to have found a bit of form again, I feel both will be happy not to lose this game - St Mirren 1-1 St Johnstone
Inverness C.T vs Partick Thistle: This game has all the ingredients to be a cracker, both clubs like to pass the ball and attack, Thistle are more comfortable counter attacking away from home, think this is the one game that will guarantee goals, ICT have been amazing this season, they'll be hoping to put week 9s capitulation behind them, I fancy ICT but only because of Billy McKay - Inverness C.T 3 -1 Partick Thistle

I don't get down to Tannadice often, but boy can I pick 'em
Amazing performance from the lads today, I won't be getting carried away based on one game against St Mirren, but everything just clicked today, Ciftci, GMS, Gauld (though he could have had more), Paton, Rankin, all fantastic today, as were the subs, Erskine took his goal well, and what can you say, great to see Jimmy back, he didn't look out of place, though there probably wasn't many easier times for him to make his return.
A win over ICT on Tuesday, then on to batter the Bhoys next weekend.
Jimmy Gomis f*****g hates Dundee, na na na na!

Delighted for United Dr, thats 4 times in only 13 games this season that United have hit 4 goals in a game, really entertaining stuff, not to blow my own trumpet but I did say a couple of months ago that Ciftci is meant to be a pretty decent player, been really impressed with him, Jackie is doing a grand job, think next weeks game at Celtic Park could be a cracker, rooting for United against ICT in the Cup, a Dundee Utd vs Aberdeen/Hibs final could be excellent.

Good news he was hopeless and far too defensive

Probably best for all concerned, question is who can get a tune out of Hibs?Kay Fabe wrote:Hibs sack Pat Fenlon

Since Mowbray only Collins and Yogi have managed it for short periods, I honestly don't know what the answer is for them right now.

Re: The 2013/14 SPFL Thread
Well chuffed with the result today, didn't catch any of the game as I was at work, but sounds like United were unlucky not to double their advantage before Mulgrew's goal
Were you at the game Kayfabe? What did you make of it?
Big game next week against Motherwell, will be tough but a win could keep us in a decent position in the top half, with a few easier (emphasis on the ier) games coming up in Partick (h), Hearts (h), Killie (a), County (h) and St Mirren (a), without wishing to get boisterous there's tentatively a few winnable games in there, a loss though could set us back as I expect Aberdeen & St Johnstone will win their games and with Hibs right behind us, who knows what a new manager could do to them (recent history suggests Sweet FA but you have to be wary).
And in case I don't get a chance, good luck to Celtic in Amsterdam this week, is Brown back? maybe send him out to sample the local 'culture' beforehand, might chill him out a bit :P

Re: The 2013/14 SPFL Thread
Sorry mate, was with the good lady all weekend never had a chance to get online, yeah I was at the game, the first half was excellent, Celtic started the stronger of the two, looked bright and Stokes was a stand out but after the first 25 minutes Utd really came into the game, tremendous goal, the vision and skill from Ciftci to get the ball to Armstrong and the ability the boy showed to take it on his chest and round Forster was just sublime all round, Dundee Utd were good for the win and can count themselves unlucky, not because of the time of the equaliser but with how little Celtic created.
I've been majorly impressed with Utd this season, they were very attack minded, usually when teams are leading 1-0 at Celtic Park its a back to the walls performance but they attack in numbers, Armstrong was the standout player for me.
Initially I thought Utd might struggle to make the top 6 this season because they have such a young squad but the rate they're progressing I'd say they could easily be challenging for the top 4 and looking for a Europa League place.

I don't know who the answer is but I do think for depth and experience they hhave a squad that is up there in terms of quality with Aberdeen, I don't feel a new manager will have to do a whole lot of work to get far better performances out of them, what they do need though is width and pace, Fenlon spent a lot of money on wages but its all a bit samey in the midfield.Dr Gregory House MD wrote:Probably best for all concerned, question is who can get a tune out of Hibs?Kay Fabe wrote:Hibs sack Pat Fenlon

Butcher seems to be the Hibs choice, Kenny Shiels is the favourite, I'd love to see them think outside the box and go for Ian Holloway, he's a good coach, eye for a player too and having worked on a shoestring with Blackpool knows how to maximise his pennies, interestingly enough, when he was at Blackpool he was on less money than Colin Calderwood when he was at Hibs so it might not be far fetched

Re: The 2013/14 SPFL Thread
Just saw this...
BREAKING NEWS!!!!
SCOTTISH football will be screened live in China for the first time and to an estimated 60million people after the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) kicked off its new 10-year, £20million international broadcast deal with a Chinese partner.
First Minister Alex Salmond was joined in Beijing by SPFL CEO Neil Doncaster and clubs’ representative, Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell, where the SPFL struck the new broadcast agreement with live sports online streaming provider PPLive TV.
The ground-breaking deal covers the live screening of 58 SPFL matches in China, the world’s second biggest economy and fastest-growing, as part of PPLive TV’s European football offering that includes coverage of England’s Barclays Premier League and Spain’s Liga BBVA (formerly La Liga).
The agreement, which will see SPFL season 2013/14 fixtures broadcast online to 60million PPLive TV users in China, is part of an international agreement between the SPFL and MP & Silva that is expected to generate more than £20m for the SPFL and its member clubs over the next 10 years.
The First Minister made the announcement alongside Peter Lawwell and Neil Doncaster at a Scotland innovation showcase in Beijing that demonstrated the expertise and pedigree of Scottish business, design, education and sport during a five-day trade mission to China.
The First Minister said: “This is a hugely exciting development for Scottish football, with 58 fixtures from the Scottish Professional Football League to be screened live in China for the first time to 60million people through PPLive.
“There is clearly a growing appetite for European football coverage in China and now football fans across this country will be able to enjoy the action from iconic Scottish footballing venues such as Celtic Park, Easter Road, Fir Park and Pittodrie.
“There have been some tough times in Scottish football over recent years, but with news today that clubs can look forward to a £20m boost as part of this fantastic international broadcasting deal, I am confident the fans can look forward to a bright future.”
Speaking on behalf of SPFL clubs, Peter Lawwell said: “The English Premier League experience shows that giving overseas audiences the chance to watch games week-in, week-out is the key to building an international fan base.
“Celtic has already played a leading role in promoting the Scottish game to global audiences, mainly through our recent participation and successes in the UEFA Champions League, and we see China as a country with enormous potential.
"This deal shows the ambition of the SPFL and its clubs to continue to expand the Scottish game into new worldwide territories.”
Neil Doncaster, SPFL CEO, said: “This is a brilliant result for Scottish football and the Scottish Professional Football League. This deal will showcase the Scottish game to up to 60million people across China and opens up a huge marketplace in the world’s fastest-growing economy.
“We want to build on this opportunity, not only in China but across other significant global markets, and discussions with several potential partners are ongoing.
"We aim to significantly raise the profile and popularity of our game among global audiences, with the resultant financial spin-offs and commercial opportunities for the SPFL and our member clubs.”

Great News, though it'll probably only be to shore up the price when we sell (especially if rumours about QPR being in for Souttar are true)Kay Fabe wrote:This should cheer you up Doc

If we were a Championship club, I think we could be looking about £20-30 mil for the pair of them, sadly we'll be lucky to get about 10

Re: The 2013/14 SPFL Thread
Week 13 Fixtures
Ross County vs Celtic K.O 12:45pm Live on BT Sport
Celtic traveled to Victoria Park three times last season and failed to win, drawing two and losing once (after taking a 2-0 lead) two of those games came straight after a vital European game just like this weekends, Celtic haven't played well since the October 5th match at Celtic Park vs Motherwell, they've been quite slow and predictable and last week vs Dundee Utd were often chasing shadows, Ross County are suffering from second season syndrome, I believe they'll be in the battle to avoid the relwgation Play-Off come next May, their last two games have been abandoned which possibly saves them 6 points, I feel Celtic will want to prove a point after a turgid few weeks here. Prediction: Ross County 0-3 Celtic
Aberdeen vs Hearts
Aberdeen have been on excellent form, scoring lots of goals and conceding very few is a recipe for success, Hearts on the otherhand can't seem to buy a point, lowest scorers in the Premiership and can't keep a clean sheet (unless it's against Hibs), Hearts really have to start cutting into this 15 point deficit if they're ever going to give themselves a fighting chance but I can't see it happening at Pittodrie. Prediction: Aberdeen 3-0 Hearts
Hibernian vs Inverness C.T
Interesting sub plot to this game, Hibs having 'mutually consented' Pat Fenlon really need to start picking up points if they have realistic ambitions of finishing in the top 3 (which is fully justified with their budget and squad) but ICT have had their number for a while now, with Terry Butcher looking like he's all but been confirmed as the new Hibs boss I feel ICT will have even extra motivation tomorrow, I fancy this to be a meaty match, blood and thunder. Prediction: Hibs 1-2 Inverness C.T
Motherwell vs Dundee Utd
Scotland's Match of the Day for me tomorrow, Motherwell have been in devastating form at home this season, having lost their firat home game they've won 5/5 in the League and haven't won 6/6 since 1975/76, that being said Dundee Utd are in excellent form, their performance at Celtic Park last week was wise beyond their years, they attack in numbers and pass the ball with confidence, I can see this being a real ding dong of a match. Prediction: Motherwell 2-2 Dundee Utd
Partick Thistle vs St Mirren
Thistle have eased their way back into life in the top flight, they've played some great football but wprryingly for them its been their away form that's kept them away from the danger zone, they havent won any of their 6 Home matches in the League so far this season, St Mirren on the otherhand have had a turn in fortunes, so unlucky last week to have their game abandoned with 10 minutes to go having been 2-0 up, I fancy Thistle to break their duck tomorrow. Prediction: Partick Thistle 2-1 St Mirren
St Johnstone vs Kilmarnock
The Saints having hit a bit of a slump after their early season form have had a few good morale boosting results, same can be said of Kilmarnock, this game will be decided by the form of the strikers, Kris Boyd, Nigel Hasselbaink and Stevie May, I think it's got the makings of a good game but I fancy St Johnstone to have a bit more fire power to their game. Prediction: St Johnstone 2-1 Kilmarnock

Re: The 2013/14 SPFL Thread
I'm actually just speechless at the result today..just wow, without wishing to be cocky someone is getting an absolute doing in the coming weeks, I can feel it in my bones
Big Tel being shown in the harshest possible way what a job he's got on his hands at Hibs, I fear for him seems like a poisoned chalice at Easter Road
Good result for Celtic off the back of there game at Ajax, though from what I saw of Wednesday they didn't expend much energy over there
And poor Aberdeen, my heart bleeds for them it really does :P
Still I agree Kayfabe seems like a great day all round, those punt and chase merchants down south don't know what they're missing :P

Re: The 2013/14 SPFL Thread
Thats what? The 5th time in 16 games this season that Dundee Utd have banged in 4 goals in a game? Thats some going, Ryan Gauld is a class act, he really is, don't know if it's his build but combined with his balance, his left foot and vision and the way he just always strokes the ball he really does remind me of Shunsuke Nakamara.
Butcher has it all to do at Easter Road, no doubt ICT are a better team than Hibs but is I do think its a step up, Hibs have everything going for them off the pitch, stadium, training ground, big fanbase and a big in SPFL terms budget.
I'm really surprised you're not showing compassion for Aberdeen to be fair though I think they've looked great, that result yesterday though is proof that there's still plenty of work to do before they can start to believe they can finish top 3.
Heard Partick Thistle absolutely annihilated St Mirren at Firhill yet St Mirren pump them 3-0, Thistle just cant buy a win at home, Stevie May is outrageously good to watch too with St Johnstone, really impressive.

I'm in heaven right now, was going to put something yesterday but I feel the whole me drooling over United must be getting quite dull, this is possibly the most I've ever enjoyed watching United, only the early days of Houston's reign can competeKay Fabe wrote:Another 4 goals for Dundee Utd, getting beyond ridiculous now Doc
Looking at our fixtures I'm really optimistic, the festive period could be tough on young legs but we've got a run of winnable games with St Johnstone being the only top half team we face before the end of the year
Really dreading January now though, even if the English clubs aren't paying attention I would have thought Celtic would have half an eye on our guys
I'm saying it now though, Ryan Gauld is the real deal at 17 being the most marked man on the pitch yesterday could have been a daunting task for some but he took it in his stride and his through balls were just exquisite, if he were a championship midfielder I think paper talk would be £20million to one of the big Prem teams easily
Good result for Celtic though, always nice to see Clanger being put to the sword
