Scotland's new kit - grand reveal at noon
First topic message reminder :
Well today's the day ladies and gentlemen, Scotland's new home and away kits are going to be released, time to find out what Macron are really like. So figured we'll need a thread where we can come over all Gok Wang and critically asses the stylistic merits...
From the teaser images the SRU have shared on twitter we know that the home kit is the standard dark blue / navy and similarly the away is the traditional white. The latter is a relief as I'd had nightmares that Macro might have tried to copy the orange monstrosity from 1999 http://www.talksport.co.uk/sites/default/files/imagecache/ts_magazine_big_picture/51501216.jpg
So hopefully the new kits will be decent and won't feature fools gold trim as was the case with our last home strip or neon yellow and red sleeves http://www.rbs6nations.com/images/galleries/73410834.jpg
If Macron produce something like the 2006 shirt or the 2010 shirt I'll be very happy...

He wasn't stroking. He was clubbing and punching.
And the court order is now 1 km away...

Ha - nah I went to Greave's sport and had a look at it!
And yes I have entered a competition to win one - no chance I'm buying it!

TBH after seeing the kit up close I think I might donate it to you if I do win!

And then, being a back, get away from it as quickly as possible?RDW_Scotland wrote:IanBru wrote:Sorry GC, if its any consolation, I'm eating Rivita as I type this.
Jeez what's happening to the modern man - first tigertattie complains about ironing his rugby shirt now you're eating Rivita??
I'm just heading out to down 5 pints of beer and get in a fight. Grrrrr.
Is it true that you can get a jersey without the RBS logo and name on it? Sounds good to me but I would be surprised if any sponsor allowed the sponsoree to have tops without the sponsors name on them. It costs a fortune to sponsor a national top so they will want as much exposure s possible

Dam straight - one of the many benefits of being out on the wing is that you're often far away when the hippos decide they want to start wallowing in the mud together. Can't have a fight getting in the way of a good game of rugger.
Saying that I was punched on the pitch once - but that was playing away at Livingston so it was inevitable really .

At least they waited until the game had started. I'm not sure they have always been as generous as that.
I was playing in a cup tie at Irvine years ago when a fight broke out among the forwards. It was joined by their subs (just about understandable) and then their ultras joined in. Well, I say ultras but I mean an old duffer who must have been in his 60's. the involvement of a 60-somthing does introduce an interesting moral dilemma to a fight

I think it looks pretty good. Mind you being a scummy Fifer my tastes are less refined than those in Edinburgh.

New Scotland change kit finally released:
Quite 'busy', but it's not bad.

That’s all well and good but not sure the design is what we need – the only teams we really need a change strip for are Italy, France and NZ. That top is similar to the colours of the Italy home top so I’d be surprised if the ref allows it, we’re not playing NZ this year so that leaves France…!

I actually quite like the away kit and the blue that is used in it which is what the blue should be in the saltire. Fairly impressed by Macrons designs, not actually seen the strips in person yet to see the quality though?
They are going to be wearing this kit against South Africa in November and then the only other team will be against France in the 6 nations. We play Italy over there so it will be them wearing their change kit.

Per the home kit would have preferred a straight white kit with the navy chevrons down the side for the change kit. If more blue is required across the shoulders why not navy, would agree the 'saltire' blue is too close to Italy.

Re: Scotland's new kit - grand reveal at noon
Anyone been to see the away kit in the flesh yet? Like the home kit I'm pretty disappointed. I think It looks cheap and tacky - wouldn't be out of place in a tat shop on the Royal Mile. I'm assuming this one will be in the £80/60 price range too.
So my personal view is that both look good in photographs but are disappointing in real life!
