Alonso vows to mount title challenge
Fernando Alonso says he is "convinced" he can mount a title challenge as long as Ferrari maintain their upturn in form following the Turkish Grand Prix.
The Spaniard is 52 points - more than two wins - behind Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel after four races.
But Alonso, runner-up to Vettel in 2010, said: "What matters are results and we've started to make the podium.
"We must do that regularly and if so I'm convinced that we will again be able to fight for the title."
Alonso was a strong third at the Turkish Grand Prix following a race-long battle with Mark Webber, who ultimately held him off to secure a 1-2 finish for Red Bull.

Its a message of intent from Mr Alonso who has not exactly had a good start to the season. Do you think he can mount a challenge?

Well, after seeing his late charge last season, I wouldn't rule him out, but he's certainly got his work cut out for him.
Still think Red Bull will be too strong and if McLaren get their act together, regarding qualifying and race strategies, I think Hamilton will probably finish ahead of Alonso too. Reckon it'll be a close run between him and Button for 4th.
Alonso needs to win 3 races and have Vettel finish out side the top 10, to catch him. Don't see that happening at the moment.

Well at this rate so he should, as it stands it Alonso doing all the work for the team..
Funny how people remember one race when Massa let him pass, but ignore all the times he has failed to take points away from other drivers hunting for the title.

The same can be said for when hamilton has one bad race!
To be fair massa hasnt done too bad this season. BUt there better not be another "fernando is faster then you" incident.
I think Alonso will be in with a shout of the title. I think it will be between Vettel, Hamilton and Alonso this season. Button wont have what it takes, neither will Massa. As for Webber, i dont think he'll perform like last season.

Button was never in for title until Brawn GP invented the double diffuser, with the aim of a technical loophole. He's the luckiest World Champion ever.
The title contenders are only Vettel. Fernando and Hamilton.
