Spanish football as a whole will struggle to progress on the racism front until heavier punishments are made; punishments that UEFA/FIFA are too scared to hand out.

The guy who threw the banana was arrested. That'll hopefully make the idiots think twice... or at all.

It's a great pity. I eat five bananas a day, always have, and suddenly people think I'm making a stance against racism. Do monkeys even eat bananas more than other foods, I

Madrid struggling to break down Valencia so far. Valencia should be ahead Parejo denied by a quality save by Diego Lopez.

You should do the Annual London to Brighton bike ride Olly. At least then by the end of the night you won't be the only one in Brighton with a sore bumhole

Haven't had a cucumber in a while. Still prefer bananas. So consistent.

2 - 2 final score.
Madrid still 2 points behind Atletico.
Apricots on the other hand are like Larry David terms: a low percentage fruit. Maybe 1 in 100 is good.

I'm happy for him, Cristiano that is, that hes been able to take the title of best player in the world again. I shouldnt like Real Madrid, but I genuinely want Ronaldo to win every game he plays.

Without question?
As much as I like Bale, Suarez is better and there is an argument for 2 or 3 others too.
he meant after Hazard and Suarez, obviously
I'd rather have Suarez over bale, but I would rather have Bale over Hazard. Bale is a big strong kid that physically overmatches Hazard. Hazard has better technique but Bale also has a very good technique and touch that he doesn't get credit for.

Also, rather improbably, if it stays as it is this weekend, Barca will head into the final round knowing they'd win the title by beating Atletico. If I understand the H2H rule after Atletico and Barca drew 0-0

Shall be an interesting end of season there.
Malaga vs Atletico is the key game.
Elche should lose to Barca but their awkward at home.

Don't even understand all the criticism, he had as good a record as Guardiola over his first 50 odd games, and has been decimated by injuries at the worst timeGSC wrote:Quite a shot in the eye to his critics if Martino can win the title

Re: European Football Thread
First thing is a win against Malaga. Then if Barcelona draw or lose against Elche - not an easy away game by any means - then the title is Atletico's already before the last match.
Have a feeling though, tonight's result will galvanise Barcelona after their limp display against Getafe.

Re: European Football Thread
I see Barcelona eventually winning this. It's been a crazy year of football & it would not surprise me to see a below par Barcelona & the heavily criticised Martino winning it. To me, it looks like the two surprise packages of Liverpool & Atletico have messed up their best chances of a title in years. Of course, Atletico still might win it but a galvanised Barcelona will be difficult to stop now.

Re: European Football Thread
Atletico have drawn at the Nou Camp already this season.
Real will be eliminated with a loss or Atletico win; or Atletico draw and Barca win.

Last night saw one of the greatest imports in Italian football play his last game in Serie A. Javier Zanetti ended his Inter career with a 4-1 win over Lazio. The word legend is overused in football, but Zanetti deserves this moniker.

Another disgraceful banana-throwing incident in the Atalanta-Milan game today by the home fans.
That was followed by persistent whistling at the player in question for the rest of the game.
UEFA really need to take action.

The lack of experience & know-how has probably cost Liverpool/Atletico titles this year. Tough to see out winning your first titles.

Yeah was a great save by Willy, he really extended very well, showed great stamina making such a great save late in the game.Fernando wrote:I honestly thought it was done when Adrian hit that shot in the 92nd minute. Literally a fingertip save.
