Jack Sock up Next, get ready folks
Mr.Show time silently pushed himself to the 3rd round once again, he did that last year as well, and this year in my view he had a very good FO and was very unfortunate to have met Tommy Haas in the 2nd round whom he pushed to a 4 set.
Sock is more deadly in USO considering his huge fan base among the natives, we Canadians support him as well, he did get a huge round of reception on and before his match against Raonic which says the story.
Sock like Nalby is a way too huge for his height, he is just 6'1 a perfect height to play the tennis [Federer, Sampras and Nadal all being 6'1 proves it] but he looks bigger than that due to his heavy body frame, this is one aspect in my view preventing him from honing his skills further, his game perfectly mocks the yesteryear legend Jim Courier, may its time Sock to step it up from youngsters count in the USO.
He next faces a very tricky challenge in Tipsarevic, given Tipsy form a upset is more than possible and it could be in st.sets as well, but if Tipsy steps it up he might be too much for Sock, but I hope Sock step it up and make a good match out of it.
Go Sock Go.

Boy Oh boy, those who missing this match is missing something special, Sock's forehand is next only to Del Po in terms of power and next only to Fed in terms of Skill and Next only to Rafa in terms of Precision.
Sock rules, leading 3-2 with a break in the 1st set.

Lemme apologize if I haven't spoke much about his down the line backhand its as crispier as his forehand, something we miss on tour barring few players like Djoko and Murray.
Sock the way to go. I will talk about his serve and returns next, right now Sock leads 4-2 in the first set, and mind you he is playing a very good opponent in Tipsaravic.

Tipsy double faults to hand Sock the 1st 6-3, but over turned by Hawk Eye, so still 2 set points.

Jim Courier on Sidelines is proud of the way Sock is playing, I hope he passed his tips on how to get to the top of the pack.
Come on Sock make us proud, in my view he is the best available young talent ahead of Dimitrov and Tomic.

Tipsy now in control and he isn't the sort of player to let this kind of match slip. He needs a good showing here as he has had a poor year. Now we will see what Jack Sock is made of.

Well well well, Sock's level has got down from immortality to die now levels in contrast Tipsy's pathetic form improved and improved with every minute of the match and now leading 5-1 in the 3rd.
Curtains for Sock I guess.

Yup CC, Tipsy upped his game, Sock should have somehow won the 2nd set to break Tipsy's spirt but now Tipsy is more determined to bring the Sock show to an end, while I admire most aspect of Sock's game I don't think he has that will to win like a Del Po/Rafa to succeed or win from here.CaledonianCraig wrote:Tipsy now in control and he isn't the sort of player to let this kind of match slip. Ping me if he did on the right way , but if he pulled his socks to go home early then just forget it, another disappointment .CaledonianCraig wrote:Its time he pulled his Socks up.
God gives somebody hell lot of talent like Gulbis, Sock etc,. but these guys don't use them, in contrast He gives very little to players like Ferrer etc,. but they make the maximum out of it with sheer heart of an attitude.
I would rather take little talent with more heart than hell of a talent and no heart.
Sock while I love your game I don't like you attitude towards hard work , I have to re think on being a fan of you.

In Jack Sock and Ryan Harrison I believe the US has two future top 30 players - both have good shot making abilities and handy serves, but whether they shall ever be able to make the jump to top 10/15 and contend for masters tournaments I cannot say at this point.

Unfortunately both don't have the will power to take it to next level, they are playing Tennis for fun and not as a profession I guess, otherwise how on earth Jack Sock hasn't played that many tournament this year? he just plays USO casually coz he gets wild cards for free, such a talent but no will to be a pro.ALPanorak wrote:In Jack Sock and Ryan Harrison I believe the US has two future top 30 players - both have good shot making abilities and handy serves, but whether they shall ever be able to make the jump to top 10/15 and contend for masters tournaments I cannot say at this point.

This is his 25th tournament this year. How many should he be playing? He is also in the US Open by right, not as a wild card. I'm unconvinced he will make the top 10 but if he doesn't it will be due to a lack of talent not hard work.invisiblecoolers wrote:Unfortunately both don't have the will power to take it to next level, they are playing Tennis for fun and not as a profession I guess, otherwise how on earth Jack Sock hasn't played that many tournament this year? he just plays USO casually coz he gets wild cards for free, such a talent but no will to be a pro.ALPanorak wrote:In Jack Sock and Ryan Harrison I believe the US has two future top 30 players - both have good shot making abilities and handy serves, but whether they shall ever be able to make the jump to top 10/15 and contend for masters tournaments I cannot say at this point.

All the underline ones are in USA, in general most of the time he gets wild card, and when inspired he takes down some top seeds and established players but otherwise never capitalizes on the given opportunity and just participates in my view for the sake of participation.
What you can see is clearly in consistency and not lack of talent its indeed lack of application.
He got all departments covered in the game except however only time will tell whether he takes it professionally to march on to the next level which his talent is capable of .
