Welcome to Season 6 of the Aviva Premiership fantasy rugby game. Below are the rules of the game which must be adhered to. If there are any situations that arise in the course of the game which are not covered by the rules, a final decision will be made by the RFU (SJE) as to how the situation will be resolved.
Senior Squads wrote:
The maximum squad size is 40 senior players. If a team has more than 40 players in their squad then they will be fined £1 million per player over the permitted amounts per day for the first seven days. If after 7 consecutive days a team still has more than the permitted number of players then the team will be fined £2 million per player per day, and fined 1 league point per player per day for the next seven days. If after this time a team still has more than the permitted number of players in their squad, the RFU (me) will remove players at its discretion to bring them back under the permitted numbers. There will be no right of appeal to players being removed.
Be aware that all tier one international matches which are played during the season will count in the game, and players selected in the match day 23's for those matches will not be eligible to play for their clubs on that weekend, therefore you must give due consideration to the make-up of your squad.
Academy Rules wrote:
Each team will be allowed to have an academy squad of 20 players. Players who are in the academy must be born on or after 1st September 1991.
Any player, who is at any Premiership club in real life, either in their senior, academy or AASE squads, can be bid for on the domestic bidding page. Players who are at your own club in real life and are coming through the academy system must be bid for if you want them in your own academy.
Transfers wrote:
- Domestic (other AP Teams)
Each team has a budget to use in the purchase of players. Domestic transfers between AP clubs, regardless of nationality of player, should be negotiated between the respective managers, and then confirmed on the Domestic Transfer Confirmation Page.- Domestic (Championship and below)
Each team may during the season purchase no more than 5 players from the Championship or the National Leagues. These players must be bid for on the Domestic Transfer Bidding page, and each bid will be considered by me on its own merits before being accepted or rejected. No bid will be accepted until a minimum of 24 hours has elapsed from the time the bid was made, in order to afford other managers the opportunity to make a counter bid.- Foreign
To make a foreign transfer (i.e. from any club outside of the AP, regardless of whether the player is English) a bid should be made on the Foreign Transfers Page, which will be considered by me against the posted guidelines for purchase prices before being accepted or rejected. No bid will be accepted until a minimum of 24 hours has elapsed from the time the bid was made, in order to afford other managers the opportunity to make a counter bid.
There will be a summer foreign transfer window, which will run as follows.
Structured Window
No cash will be used and each team will get effectively free transfers by way of a draft, which will run 12th, 11th, 10th …… 1st, 12th, 11th,10th… 1st place side. This will run from 10th June 2013 until all teams have had their two picks.
Open Window
Open transfer window, teams have unlimited bids provided they have the financial resources to cover them. Teams may only bid for one player at a time.
Player Releases wrote:
Managers may choose to release players from their clubs, for which they will be offered compensation
Compensation will be paid as follows
£2 million – current international (must have played international rugby in the previous 12 months)
£1.5 million – former international
£1m – top flight experience
£0.5m – other
All released players will be deemed to have joined a Championship side and can be bid for on the Domestic Transfer Bidding page.
Retirements wrote:
There will be no compensation for retiring players. Should a player who retires decide to come out of retirement and play again, then he will automatically go back to the club who he was playing for in the game when he retired.
Fixtures wrote:
There will be 22 Aviva Premiership games per season, plus the play offs. There will also be Heineken Cup, Amlin Challenge Cup and Anglo Welsh Cup matches. These games will take place once a week. A match thread will be put up every Monday. Home teams must be named by midnight on Tuesday. Away teams must be named by midnight on Wednesday. Both teams must provide tactics by midnight on Thursday. Predictions will be open from 00:01 hours on Friday and remain open until 20:00 hours on Saturday. Managers will post the scores that they think will happen from these games (apart from games in which they are involved). An average of all predictions will be taken, and then 0.5 points added to each teams score for each prediction that had them as the winner, and that will then be the final score.
Managers are asked to provide detail as to why they have predicted a result. To be considered a descriptive prediction this must be a full 3 lines long when entered into the text box. If you are not providing a descriptive prediction you will be restricted to predicting a 1 point win either way.
Teams wrote:
When naming your team, not only should you put the starting XV and replacements, but also tactics that your team will employ. Results will be affected by the tactics described.
In addition, each team must have the following:-
At least 10 England qualified players in your match day 23, and at least 4 of those must be in your starting XV.
At least 2 props and 1 hooker on the bench.
All players must be eligible (not injured or banned).
Failure to comply with these rules will result in forfeiting the match and a 1 league point deduction.
If you fail to submit a team for a match, then the other team will be automatically awarded a 30-0 bonus point win. If both teams fail to submit a team, then it will be scored as a 0-0 draw.
Injuries and Suspensions wrote:
Injuries in this game do NOT reflect real life, they will be generated by me.
Players banned in real life will be ineligible for selection in this game for the duration of the ban.
Inclusion of injured/banned players will result in them being replaced by players on the bench, and the bench not having eight players, which may result in punishment if it concerns the front-row.
Punishment for fielding an ineligible player will be loss of one match point for a first offence, two for a second offence and so on.
Financial Rewards wrote:
There will be no rewards for the result of an individual match, instead the managers will receive cash for predicting.
£2m for descriptive predictions
£0.25m for scores on the doors predictions
If you fail to predict without first advising me that you are unable to do so that week, you will be fined £1m for a first offence, £2m for a second offence, £3m for a third offence etc.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda Chris. All teams can point to games that they could or should have won but didn't. At the end of the day if you go through a season like that odds are you'll be in a dogfight.dammit_chris wrote:Nick, can't see Wasps being dragged into a dog fight at all - we should have won both our opening games and would have done if we took our chances.
Issue at the moment is that Young is picking the wrong centre combinations, have to play Masi there and get Tommy Bell playing at fb while Daly and Southwell are injured - our centre combos are stopping a lot of attacks at the moment.
Missing Vunipola though - AJ has stepped up but could probably do with Haskell playing as well. Though Thompson and Jackson both started well for us.
See that Wood has been reported as the new England captain on a permanent basis.

Re: Season 6 Homepage I
We didnt get a marque signing to make top4 - though looking through the team we should only lose Launchbury and Masi during the AI's - maybe Wade if Lancaster opts for him.
Think the 4th spot is very much open this year, but after seeing Bath's first two games I think they will take that come the end of the season - but would say that Quins and Exeter are probably better teams and we lack consistency as we get roughed up by big packs - always lose to Exeter and Saints.

Thought you did well to stay close until the second half, strange decision to take of Qera though and keep all the backs on, thought you could have done with him in the game.

That's the one! THink he's a great player.
Are they coming over because they have a Scottish relative of some sort? With only two teams in Scotland must be very hard for them to get foreigns in with the knock on effect it must have with the national team.

Wasps next two games are worc and falcons i believe. They dont win them then a relegation battle could well be on the cards. Irish can give themselves a bit of distance today with a home win over chiefs, like sale have done.

Well as expected we got smashed.
It was a weakend lineup but poor result, Rose was supposed to have had a shocker. Such a poor ref, I watched a champ game last week and he was horrendous. Barnes spent most of the game saying how good he was, suspect he knows as much about the laws as Rose does.

Wow glos game was sensational.
Sign of a good player is north who was quiet all game then suddenly exploded.
Sharpies
Defended brilliantly against him all match.
Glos substitutions were wrong. Bought on Robson when Cowan was having a stormer. Bought May on against north when he has not played for months.
Good glos win. JSD Qera and stookes was magnificent on debut. He completely outplayed day and manoa. Future England player on that performance. Only 20

Not quite sure how we managed to lose that. Exeter were very good in the final 20 minutes, but it's tough to take as we had been on top for most of the rest of the game and built a decent(ish) lead.

We now have aulika, hagan, skivington, low, sinclair, fisher, halaufia, phibbs, sa, armitage, ojo injured. Ridiculous. Our three best forwards out were gonna struggle now. Although i think we have a decent loan signing next week

Re: Season 6 Homepage I
The injury list is a definitely a worry, especially if Aulika is out for the season as feared. Hala'ufia didn't look like he will be playing anytime soon, he was limping heavily and had a knee brace on. Sa was saying that he will be ready to go pretty soon, although it doesn't help us that much as 12 is not a shirt we are struggling in, as Sheridan was pretty good again today.

Don't think Wasps are relegation candidates at all just yet - another game where the opposing manager says we should have won, but didnt and I know that doesnt help with getting more points in the league, but would be worried if we were losing by 10+ points a game and not being able to say we should have won the game.
We need a ball carrier in the pack though, as we do have some physical players but none are enforcers and we have to get Daly or Southwell back asap as need to get Masi playing at 12, as at the moment our centres just aren't creating anything, especially with Goode at 10.

If you lose against us or Worcester (or both) you're in with a battle I think.
Can you see beating both but results are poor at the minute for Wasps, you're def in the mix.
AI & 6N will only get worse with you losing Masi, Launchbury and possibly Wade too.

Pretty sure we had a similar start last season, then went on a run after the team gelled. Though when you look at the team and see how many new players and combinations there are it isn't a surprise really.
AI and 6N wont be too much of a problem as should keep 20/21 of our match day squad, while others will suffer a lot more -we've got a lot more depth than anytime in last 5 years, but don't just have that one world class player that could make a difference - you look at Saints and would say they have 3 WC players Corbs, new scrumhalf and George North, we can't compete with that.
Although maybe Goode fits into the WC category...

I would not have fotuali In the world class bracket yet Chris. He is terrific player but has some weaknesses. Very good going
Forward but less so defensively on the sweep and position ally. Glos picked on this with success a few times yesterday. His passing was also wayward yesterday but that is a one off as usually strong there. Sarries killing bath

Not sure Mat, think I'd have him as in top 3 scrum halves in the world, probably second behind Genia. Agree with you about his weaknesses though - didnt realise he was 31/32.
Gloucester deserved to beat Saints but can't believe the ref missing 3-4 players offside from the kick off and then mucking up the scrum to give a penalty against Saints. Great try from Elliot though.
Have Sarries now got three BP wins in a row?

Yes sarries look good. Thought they would be nailed on. Can't discount Leicester.
They put out a largely second team against falcons and got the BP win.
Think its a shoot out between worcester and falcons for the drop with wuss looking more likely after the first 3 games. Long season though so lots can change

i wouldnt rule out irish just yet. with all the injuries mounting up our pack is depleted and we have some tough games coming up. providing we can get some players back and keep the core of the team fit we will be fine as the morale of the squad is so much better this season than last.

Re: Season 6 Homepage I
yeh we are scoring tries which is fine and our attack looks decent enough. Having Sa playing soon should help that too.
The pack worries me though. Aulika could be out for the season. Hala'ufia is out for a couple of months and Skivington is concussed so who knows when he will be back.

Sarries squad is so strong all over and they seem the team that can best deal with injuries - quite nice to see them trying to play attacking rugby now. They seem to be finding a lot of ways to get the Vunipola's and Brits on the ball and teams just arent dealing with them at the moment.
