Ah come on Lovetotup, it's bound to come up eventually. So long as we're more respectful of others' views than the types that frequent the Scotsman comment pages (both Nat and Not) and we'll be doing alright.
We could probably wait a few months until we discuss this properly, so we can read Salmond's mythical white paper.

Ok - let's leave OFF the the subject till the new year at least. We are going to have to read and listen to all sorts of drivel for the next year - it would just be nice to think we could could come onto these boards and follow something we all support.

10 pounds sterling?? What is that? I've already divested myself of any meaningful currency in advance of the referendum. Bags of corn is what you'll need up here......"Barter" economics.....George Carlin wrote:I don't say this often enough, FES, but I've very proud of how far you've come.funnyExiledScot wrote:Thanks Asbo. i can only afford one wife, a girlfriend as well would bankrupt me. She is an exceptionally beautiful Lebanese woman. On the other hand, she is heavily pregnant and extemely hormonal. And Her Feistiness was quite a highly spiced dish beforehand.Jenifer McLadyboy wrote:Feck it. They better be something special if I'm going all that way and missing the game.

I'll be very interested to see what kind of shape he's in. He had to sit out a huge chunk of last season with his NRL team because the broken arms he kept getting never got a chance to rehab properly. Class is permanent but I wouldn't expect him to hit the ground, er, running.Mickado wrote:Apparently there's a slight delay with his work visa so he won't be able to play or train this week. Alan Jacobson is in good shape too. The shape in question is a sphere.
Glasgow team out at noon. Only a splatter of standing only seats left, save for which Scotstoun will be sold out again from a home perspective. Lovely to see 5000+ in there - it's such a nice little stadium.

Cakey, I'm pretty sure that c21st recommends getting both drink and food at the watering holes in the ground. This might also be of some use: http://www.rugbygroundguide.com/glasgow.html

Depends on the vintage. If it's a 1995 Reserve Nuits Saints Pollockshaws or a Chateau Govan Chunder 1998, "Le McCoisty", then definitely.cakeordeath wrote:I have never had Buckfast, would you recommend decanting it first?George Carlin wrote:That's true, but you need to think carefully about whether that kind of thing is for you.AsLongAsBut100ofUs wrote:Cakey, I'm pretty sure that c21st recommends sitting behind the bins behind the ground sharing a large bottle of Buckfast.

Hmm, I find the '95 a truffle oppressive for my pallet.
I'd recommend a lighter 2001 Macon-Village en Splattered Cat de Bath Street. Best served with fish.

p.s.Bru, GC, Cakey Buckfast is best savoured with a Crème de meths chaser in the early evening, after which dinner is usually a hoot.

Apparently the MFL have purchased a Deep Freeze for the Reading Room. It's a big unit and appears to be quite mobile. It may prevent this tear's festive drubbing in two parts from being too one sided.

Other than wannabee centre ahead of Bluto, and the continued absence of the Ruck Inspector, that's about as strong as it gets - happy dazeCaptain_Sensible wrote:Glasgow Warriors team to play Leinster, RaboDirect PRO12, Scotstoun Stadium, Friday 20 September (kick-off 7.35pm):

Strong side for Glasgow. Looks like Low might have paid the price for that yellow card last week. Also Mcguigan on the bench ahead of Seymour is interesting.
Ryder and Nekarawa don't seem to be able to get a look in.

Ryder is listed as having a head injury. Nakarawa might not be fit yet.Manky-Flanker wrote:Strong side for Glasgow. Looks like Low might have paid the price for that yellow card last week. Also Mcguigan on the bench ahead of Seymour is interesting.

The team is a strong one, especially at front row and in the back three. I think we'll miss Strauss' ball-carrying at the start, but having the ability to bring him on late in the game to smash stuff up is a lovely thought.

He'll go fine against him. Come the end of the game, Cian will be walking out of town trying to hitchhike passing cars, with the "lonely man" theme being played in the background on the piano.

Re: Glasgow Warriors v Leinster Rugby, 20 September
Cap'n, yes Strauss as an impact sub is a great thought but we have no second row cover on the bench other than Harley to move on up or Jedi.
However, behind the scrum it looks pretty strong although again I'm not 100 convinced by Wight and Barry. (Barry,Wight? Is there a joke there?)
Starting XV against XV then the Weege look favourites BUT if Hoggy isn't match sharp yet, if Dunbar isn't fully recovered, if Ruaridh has one of his flaky nights then the bench options look as useful as a condom the morning after.
Saying that, if the above mentioned are fully fit and on form then we should be too good for most teams in the Rabo. I posted earlier that Harley, Bluto and Sherlock was probably our best defensive back row while Bluto, Vernon and Fozzie was our best attacking choice.
Well, it looks a prey attacking minded team to me. I think Harley is in to give an other line out option and to put in the tackles that will allow Vernon and Fozzie to roam the pitch creating havoc (hopefully amongst the Ladyboys). The front row owe us a big performance. Let's hoe Angela's nails can stand the strain.
p.s. Madigan, and his haircut, at fullback? That's just mental Ted, so it is.

If fit and on form that is a very good Glasgow backline, and all but one Scottish.
What's happening with No Maits?
