Re: Ospreys v Edinburgh, 21 September
Hugely disappointing result. I haven't seen the game, but the reports suggest that we went right back to the Bradley/Moffatt days of limp tackling and sloppy passing.
Still, we have won our home game against the Dragons, and lost away to the Ospreys and Munster. The performances haven't been there, but in the round those results are probably par, given where we are with the new coaches.
The most depressing news is that Mrs fES has managed to "lose" my season ticket, so I suspect the SRU are about to sting me with some silly fee for issuing a new one.....

You sure that you've not deliberately and conveniently "lost" it, fES?funnyExiledScot wrote:Hugely disappointing result. I haven't seen the game, but the reports suggest that we went right back to the Bradley/Moffatt days of limp tackling and sloppy passing.

It'll be on Iplayer I would imagine FES, give it a watch if you want to depress yourself massively. Failing that, give it a swerve and hope the SRU take a couple of months to reissue you with a new ST.

I'm no Ospreys fan but I thought Embra looked a bit dirty, maybe its because they were glaringly awful in other areas. I've not really noticed it before though.
I'm assuming they played better against us Dragons ?

Not really dirty from what I saw. I'd prefer someone like Hines in the side to add a touch of steel. As for the dragons - yes Edinburgh played better then. they were just unmitigated awful on fridaymunkian wrote:I'm no Ospreys fan but I thought Embra looked a bit dirty, maybe its because they were glaringly awful in other areas. Re: Ospreys v Edinburgh, 21 September
There was a lot of illegal hits going on by Edinburgh throughout the game, not sure if the TV pictures showed the off the ball stuff but at the ground it was pretty evident. It's been noted in a few articles online and I think there were some questions asked about it in the post-match interviews.

Lutui has been cited - I didn't see it but will be interesting to see it comes of it.
I don't know how much truth there is behind Edinburgh's 'dirty' play, but I'll be massively disappointed if the palyers have stooped to those tactics - we have never been a dirty team and I don't want us to be a dirty team. That's not how you earn the respect of other teams, something Solomons wants from his players.

Re: Ospreys v Edinburgh, 21 September
As I said, its not something I've noticed before, I reckon it was just frustration, massive over reaction to Tipuric's tackle mind by the ref and the Embra players.

Has Tipuric been cited for tipping Kennedy, does anyone know?

Re: Ospreys v Edinburgh, 21 September
If it is dealt with on the field can they still get cited for it? I know it can if it's super serious but considering it wasn't the worst tip tackle and he was yellow carded will further action be taken?AsLongAsBut100ofUs wrote:Has Tipuric been cited for tipping Kennedy, does anyone know?

You'll all be delighted to know that I've found my season ticket, meaning I get to watch Edinburgh get walloped on Friday by the Scarlets. Can't wait.....

I wouldn't be so sure. Apart from a strong scrum Scarlets look pretty hopeless. On that note, Edinburgh's scrum looked pretty strong. Have they recruited in the front 5?

Done a lot of recruitment in the front 5 department - 4 new props, a few hookers and numerous 2nd rows. A lot of them Scots qualified, but a few not. Lots of saffers!

I think "pretty hopeless" will probably be enough for the Scarlets to take all the points on offer.....The Saint wrote:I wouldn't be so sure. Apart from a strong scrum Scarlets look pretty hopeless. On that note, Edinburgh's scrum looked pretty strong. Have they recruited in the front 5?

We expect updates from your every time a try is scored. That's right, every 5 minutes.funnyExiledScot wrote:You'll all be delighted to know that I've found my season ticket, meaning I get to watch Edinburgh get walloped on Friday by the Scarlets. Can't wait.....

It's unrealistic to expect Visser to score that many tries, perhaps one every 10 minutes....George Carlin wrote:We expect updates from your every time a try is scored. I expect us to at least get a LBP against the Scarlets and to give the Blues a proper wedgie.

Re: Ospreys v Edinburgh, 21 September
Well hopefully against the Blues we'll have a couple of important players back ahead of the HC "campaign" (I use that term loosely).
To be honest I haven't seen much of the Scarlets this season so it's hard to rate our chances for Friday. I'll need to see the team sheets. We were just about ok against the Dragons at home so hopefully the Ospreys debacle will give the players some motivation to bounce back (in the non-Partridge sense) and pull off a second home win.
