The 606v2 CB Rankings
Was kinda hoping people would copy the concept.
Refer to the RB topic for process details.
1. Darrelle Revis vs Nmandi Asomugha
The only 2 lockdown CBs in the game.
Revis for me since he tracks the #1 as opposed to Nmandi taking a position.

Nnamdi for me. He plays on a defense that's nowhere near as good and still generates similar numbers to those of Revis.

Re: The 606v2 CB Rankings
Asomugha for me too. Similar reasons, worse defence. Although he gets less turnovers, he is the least targeted CB in the league ofr the last few years, and didn't allow a TD against him last year.
Also If he plays man he does line up against best receiver, rather than side, which was stated in article.

Asomugha for me, agree with AdZaco, he has less stats and less highlight reel plays because QBs just don't throw at him, Revis is still a brilliant CB just slightly lower than Nnamdi

I'd have to go for Asomugha too, very close call though. It's amazing that there is even such a thing as a shutout cornerback. The idea of being so good that QBs don't throw at you is incredible when you really think about it.

I have to go for nnamdi too, revis has a good d in front of him, the raiders dont have a pass rush so nnamdi always has more pressure

Re: The 606v2 CB Rankings
The Jets don't have a great pass rush. Oftens times its because of the number of guys brought, and the freedom given by Revis to to do that

not having an elite pass rusher doesnt mean you don't have a pass rush.

No, it means you have to bring more guys to generate one.

Re: The 606v2 CB Rankings
One way of getting more sacks, but you under estimate the Jets pass Rush, lots of good not great pass rushers. Had 40 sacks last season, the top team, Pittsburgh had 48. Thats a pretty good pass rush.

Re: The 606v2 CB Rankings
The Raiders had 47 sacks, so that's slightly better than Jets.

Agreed niner was wrong, was just pointing out that the Jets aint to shabby in that respect either.

Re: The 606v2 CB Rankings
And lets not pretend the Raiders have no defensive talent either.
For me Revis gives me the flexibility to effectively make it 10 v 10 as you can line him up against the #1. Nmandi will take one side of the field and that gives the opposition a chance to exploit matchups for me.

Woodson, his type of play means aging is less affected.

Samuel
What about Dmitri Patterson? He played well when switched to corner last season

Re: The 606v2 CB Rankings
asante samuel, flowers, talib, tramon williams and finnegan are all ahead of bailey now imo. He will go down as the best in his prime and will go into hof first time but he is not as effective as he once was and will most likely move to safety soon.

Not sure why so many people say Champ is on the decline, he is still an elite CB and dominated once again this season.

I Agree that Bailey can still hang with the best of them, whether he's an "elite" CB IDK but he did have a good 2010 season and there is no doubt in my mind that he's still a better all-round CB than Samuel.
