he will be ready in 6 months
would like to fight Wlad the grab Klitschko
reports say he has been offered £50.000.000
how does this shame David Haye that old man Lewis had put his pipe down and kick off his slippers to come back and show em how its done

Oh this story gets wheeled out every so often doesn't it?
He's in his late forties now, has nothing to prove, has a fantastic legacy, so what would be the point? Your feet are up Lennox, just keep them that way.

That too. But also how how poor the division is. How lacking in quality and character. Its an absolute shambles in comparison to what it used to be. I remember in the 80s and 90s people used to say it had regressed from before my time. It probably had when you consider Ali, Foreman, Norton, Frazier etc. But the state of it now is a joke.

It shows how stupud and up himself Lewis is. Riddick Bowe said something similar a while back. Perhaps Lewis was hit harder than I thought.catchweight wrote:It shows how the sad the state of heavyweight boxing is.

It's $100,000,000 not £100.000.000. About £60,000,000 not exactly chump change but considering Lewis is worth millions already, not enough to risk his brain cells over.ONETWOFOREVER wrote:providing he gets £100.000.000

There's only so much money that you can spend and the last I heard Lewis was worth 50-60 million pounds. How much more money does he need?

He would get a lot more than the initial 100 million offered, imagine how much he would get from sponsorships.Atila wrote:I would do it, but I wouldn't do it if I was Lewis.Champagne_Socialist wrote:Why wouldn't you get in the ring for 30 minutes for £100 million or $100 million?Atila wrote:It's $100,000,000 not £100.000.000. With the extra 100 million or so he could really help boxing by opening new gyms and really help to pump funding into the sport.

I don't see this happening anyway. I doubt Lewis v a Klitschko would generate enough money to pay one of the fighters 100 million. The Klitschko has to get paid too as does the promoter.

I struggle to see the fight making that much money... Unless they made it PPV in all European countries and HBO the numbers don't really add up... Where does it get staged to generate a gate like that too, it realistically would have to be Vegas, no? How many people are going to buy into a guy that looked past it in his last fight, has gotten fat and hasn't fought in over 10 years anyway? I know theres a lot of idiots in the world but jeez...

Agreed with Alex, it's nonsense, floyd got a reported 42mill in the highest grossing fight of all time.
People in the states wouldn't pay 75 dollars to watch Lewis v wlad, they can't be bothered watching wlad when he's on cable, and never really bothered with Lewis in his prime. Nonsense story.

As said above it's just the samestory doing the rounds. This will not happen. Lewis has not said anything official; I reckon he just said a few choice words to make a journalist's day. He's not serious and he has very little to prove either.
In my opinion, this is about as likely as me fighting Wlad for $100m.

Considering Sky Sports just post whatever stories they feel like backed up by 'Sky sources' half the time, I don't have the most faith in them either.
This isn't a story. Perhaps I should submit one: "Pele will play for Manchester United for £500,000 a week."

If Lewis was serious about making a comeback he would have already done so.

But when he's in a calm controlled situation (e.g. the 606 podcasts or the SS 'Gloves are Off') he's reasonable, likeable and even quite nicely spoken.

Lewis is the greatest WUM in Boxing bar none.
Said he used to train in the Poconos but given the Russians would be financing any fight he'd happily relocate to Siberia.
When asked about his fighting weight he replied, "Well under 300lbs"
Only "wind up" that actually rings true is that even at 48 years old he'd still knock Fury out inside a round.

Haha great response from Lewis!! Showing the difference in boxing between the past & present to a degree.
Fury with his hyper controversial and foul ridden, unfounded tweets....Lewis with a simple and educated retort!
I know which one I prefer though I am sure plenty will feel that Fury is doing the right thing and creating controversy in order to get his name out there and sell.

The same type of banter goes on it gyms and locker rooms all over the world.
It's reassuring that not all fighters are pseudo intellectuals like some of their fans.
