Twitter?
First topic message reminder :
Was just wondering what you all thought of setting up a 606v2 American Football twitter account, though it may be easier if it was called 606v2AF. The idea has been pretty much stuck in my head since Leedscowboys had managed to ask Jason La Canfora about the possibility of a shut down. It could be a good way to get experts views on rumours, plus there are already accounts set up for Golf, Rugby and Wrestling which seem to be working well. Rugby has only been up for a short while and they have already had the site retweeted by a few professional players, and for some reason Peter Jones from dragons den, which all helps with publicity I believe Golf and Wrestling have also managed to get the site retweeted. Plus Rugby have managed to get a Q&A with Marcel Garvey, while I know Wrestling have managed to get a couple too. So it could be a useful way to raise awareness of the board, and we can use it get the “experts” opinions on topics we are discussing, not sure how successful we would be with getting Q&A session’s but it’s a possibility.

Re: Twitter?
What we have done quite successfully with the rugby twitter is start a conversation or poll on here, and then post them the link (using a tiny url) and asking them to either reply, comment or retweet.
Its worked well so far.

Interesting tweet:

Most people don't expect a decision on the temporary stay from the 8th circuit. I'm not one. Have a sense we'll get a decision this week.

Also you'll want to talk to some of the admins so they put a link to the page on the portal.

Is this twitter account sanctioned by the admins? I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere other than here.
If it is an officially sanctioned V2 twitter account then I will add it to the portal

Re: Twitter?
I noticed it ping through on my rugby account.
Have you ran polls on things like best positions? (ie QB etc). Then if you see a player on line who plays in a position where you have ran a poll (ie if you have done a Wide Receiver poll and Jerry Rice tweets), send him the URL and ask his opinion and to RT.
Obviously that isnt a good example, as Jerry Rice would win that poll anyway! Its always better to get someone to respond who isnt winning the poll (I had Shane Williams who was second on our winger poll respond).
If they do retweet, I usually then requote it on the thread.
Just some ideas - I would welcome some too!

Re: Twitter?
Cheers for the idea Hobo, we can give it a go with the power rankings we've currently got running. I've also got a few ideas for threads in my head which we might be able to use twitter to get the input of others on but I'm trying to revise for exams so they may take a while to pop up.
Pr4wn just seems to talk to some of his teams players, like he managed to get a nice conversation with Geno Hayes and now he's following us. Also something I guess you can't do with rugby, tweeting the rookies and saying stuff like: @MillerLite40 Hey Von, us UK fans at www.606v2.com can't wait to see you in a Broncos uniform. Can we get a RT? Maybe you could adapt that so when news comes through of players moving teams you can wish them luck etc.

Re: Twitter?
I tweeted Hayes as I thought I had a good chance to get a conversation going with him and it worked.
I think the polls idea is great! What I'll do is set up a proper poll on WRs maybe, then we'll see what sort of response we get and then tweet the results to the relevant players.

Re: Twitter?
Obviously you could do it for all of the positions and then create a dream team so to speak (or a All Stars team for the Americans on here!)
Re: Twitter?
Good idea Hobo, we can start off with Pr4wn's WR poll then move to QB (always a lively debate), etc. until we've done the offence, then give defence a go.

If anyone's got a good question related to fantasy football just post it here and we'll tweet it to Michael Fabiano, he said he'll answer the best 10 he gets in tomorrow's fantasy mailbag.

How about "Which QB do you think will provide the best value in later rounds?"

With teams throwing more than they ever have, should defenses be taken slightly earlier than in previous years?

Dont know, as I am not sure how fantasy AF works! Was just trying to help! So I will say both - last season and ever! (2 different questions)
Re: Twitter?
Hobo: @Michael_Fabiano Looking at last year, who do you think was the best value pick from the later rounds?
Is that ok for you? I've not sent it yet.

How about for another question:
If Fantasy football had been around for the last 30 years, who would have been the best pick of all time?

Thanks chaps
I have been a Broncos fan since the mid-90s.
Back in the south-east now but I go over as often as I can.
Let's not talk about Wembley last October though

Passing time on my flight to vacation, so if you guys have any questions, have at it ... But first, a couple things on the mediation ...
So if you've got anything you want to ask him, post it quick. I would guess he's expecting lockout related questions.

@AlbertBreer Do you think the only time the two sides will come to an agreement is during mediation?
@AlbertBreerAlbert Breer
@606v2AF At this point, it's the only way. Owners need collective bargaining, players need litigation settlement talk to protect positions.
@AlbertBreerAlbert Breer
@606v2AF ... Mediation protects both sides from entering the other's "playing field" and compromising their negotiating position.
