I'm not a Cardiff City fan, but if I was a Tan advisor i'd suggest reintroducing the mid 1970s shirt with the white/yellow vertical side stripes. Supporters would be ecstatic, i'm sure and no doubt they'd sell by the truck load.

Not sure Pie's really cares about the Blues anymore. No idea why he's even still here.

I understood he was going to pack it in soon after the retreat back to CAP. Maybe he's hanging about until we conker Europe once again.

Good game doe him to come back to. Glad to hear about Smith. He's done well when he's played for us, would like to see more of him in the centre.

Re: Cardiff Blues Season Thread 2 - Rey Lee-Lo signs long term at centre
Have the Argies signed long term? Or just this season?
If long term there would be a lot of competition in the centre with Lee-Lo, Tuculet, Smith, Allen, Evans, Thomas and so on

Given the form of the two overseas locks, should Reed and Dicomidis be at 2nd row going forward?

Total rugby maybe?
I like it. Very Cruyff. Very Dutch. Dickie Dutch...
"Ever heard the phrase "total football"?
Put simply, it means all 10 outfield players in a team are comfortable in any position."

It's kinda the opposite though...!
Why so many props and so few locks? Ravaged by injuries???

Maybe it's simply because it's Rovigo who are rubbish. Dunno actually.

Not a smart move either way. This pool is going to come down to points difference, which LI are leading?

At 6"2 he's a bit short for a lock, same height as Delme Thomas

By a country mile and looking at the fixtures, it's LI's for the taking with Grenoble at home then Rovigo away.
IMHO, Cardiff's priority now, considering we've failed big time in the Pro12, is preparing for next season and that's it.

Of all of our props i always thought Hobbs might be more suited to 2nd row. He's 6ft4 and until recently has been having a tough time of it. Andrews will be fine tonight. I'd rather not rush Cook back for this game. He is becoming a big player for us. Glad we've got Thomas at 12 as well. He'll break the line and give Allan something to run off of. Lets just enjoy tonight. We can't win the group unless Grenoble do us a favour.

I'm guessing Andrews will possibly add power to the scrum playing at lock, and to be fair with Turnbull in the backrow you will still have two viable line out options.
Also not being disrespectful it is only Rovigo, so it should be a bp win still.

Patchwell gets the crucial 4th try.
Rovigo also have an amazing history - onced coached by Carwyn James. Didn't know that.
Just got the crucial 5th. 33 nil. Wish I was there.

Cardiff making the name 'Challenge Cup' sound ironic. Doesn't sound like it was challenging at all

This comp is a joke the blues and dragons will get better games against Welsh premier teams, any half decemt teams put out reserve teams like Stade, even the LV games are more competitive.

Points difference doesn't matter in these rounds if you mean for top pool spot v London Irish - if both teams end on the same match points then the decider is the head to head - which is in LI's favour.

Well done Blues is that their highest win in europe. I know the Italians in the Amlin use to send out weaker teams so they could focus on winning their league. This could explain the score.
The tries will help in the pecking order for the quarters

Pretty weird way to decide on group a group winner. I thought points difference was universal. Ohh well. Rules is rules, hope Grenoble can do us a favour then.

LI more than capable of slipping up and not getting 5 points against Grenoble today. System worked against us last year with us and Stade finishing on 24 points (LI PD +228, Stade PD +127) and Stade going through on the narrow head to head advantage. Was pretty frustrating.

Still 26-27. Red Card for Pace (London Irish). Hate to spam this thread with updates from another game. But we should target this as a cup to win this season.
Grenoble might put out their best team Saint. But it gives us the chance of topping the pool. I'd rather be in with the chance.
And London Irish have their 4th try and the Bonus.
