Re: MLB DISCUSSION THREAD
Tulo was injured much of his time in Toronto; his numbers may not have been good but you can date the Blue Jays' late season surge to his signing.
Still the most complete short-stop in baseball.
But agree about Price, notwithstanding his terrible post-season record. He'll give you the innings even when he doesn't win.
Sounds like the Giants are planning to empty the bank to sign Greinke.

They didn't just sign Tulo though. They also got Price and Ben Revere (who is a classy, if not-so-powerful player).

Re: MLB DISCUSSION THREAD
No argument on Price, although a post-season era of 6+ doesn't help anyone, but don't underestimate the value of Tulowitzki or the importance of a top-class anchor for any infield. Which is what a fit Tulo will give you.
Would kill two birds with one stone if the Yanks bought Price.

Craig Kimbrell from San Diego to Bawston for five (very) minor league no-namers. Quite a coup.

Re: MLB DISCUSSION THREAD
Opening Day on Sunday.
Anyone interested?
Sandoval looks like he's starting the season on the Boston bench - how long before he, and his ridiculous contract, are traded back West? To San Diego??
One or two top players, free agents, still unsigned. Hot stove action inevitable the first couple of weeks of the season.
Yankees closer Miller planning to pitch with fractured wrist at the end of his "non-throwing" arm. Let's see how that goes.
Anyway, good luck, for now, to all the teams, even the Red Sox.

Yankees Opening Day postponed due to a cold rain. Snow here, but Opening Day at The Stadium is supposed to offer light relief from winter and promise of spring.

Weather looks dreadful in Wisconsin too. Looked like a blizzard outside at the Brewers game.

Re: MLB DISCUSSION THREAD
Ugh, Worst possible (almost) Opening Day.
Red Sox win, Yanks lose, on an error from the great Betances.
Only thing worse would have been a Boston win over the Yankees. Which, of course, hardly ever happens.

Flying start for the Orioles (unfortunately).
Not for everyone however, be honest, who supports the Braves, Twins or Padres?

Los Angeles Angels pitcher Matt Shoemaker suffered a sickening injury against the Seattle Mariners last night. Shoemaker was hit by a line drive straight into the side of his head. Shoemaker suffered a small fracture of the skull and has undergone surgery.

Re: MLB DISCUSSION THREAD
Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout has been name AL MVP for the second time in three seasons. Trout was also runner up in 2012, 2013 and 2015. It's almost strange to say but Trout was more deserving MVP in the years he was runner up than the years he actualled received the award.

Congratulations to the Houston Astros on there world series win. 1st time they've ever wondered it in 50 years. The move to the AL seems to have really rejuvenated the franchise.

Good article in the Grauniad on Harper and Machado's free agency.
