Unlicensed Boxing - Shocking Scenes Last Week Empty Unlicensed Boxing - Shocking Scenes Last Week

For the past 2 years I've been attending unlicensed boxing events in the Kent area. The one I went to last Sunday was shocking for two reasons.

Firstly on two occasions boxers fought twice after being TKO's a matter of only 1-2 hours earlier! One of the guys who was stopped by the referee after being knocked down 3 times from head shots fought again as a late replacement. After only about 30 seconds into the first round he was dropped from what looked like a mild punch to the head. Once up he was knocked unconscious from a huge punch which left him motionless on the floor for several minutes.

What made this worse was that there was no paramedics or any form of doctor on site! He was basically put in the recovery position by his corner and eventually came round.

All the other events I have been to, paramedics have been there which I thought was compulsory? It was held in a nightclub in Rochester too so would have thought they alone would have stipulated this?

Also, surely it should not of been allowed to have people fight after being stopped that day. The other boxer who fought was also stopped again, but not like the other one!

Not sure - I just assumed there would still be a requirement? Not knowledgeable of these things but thought there would be some rule of an event held on a premises to have it?

Sounds like you went to a club in Rochester and a couple of fights broke out.

I always stay well away from unlicensed boxing fights, the quality is usually very poor and the medical care is also very poor.

It's for bloodthirsty, classless scumbags who just like watching incapable oafs getting the trash smacked out of them........

Let me know when the next event is Valero.. thumbsup

Will do Truss!

Generally I agree with Champagne, the level is very poor for 80% of the fights with people wind milling for the first round then gassed.

There are a few gems hidden in the madness! Normally go because a friend or friend of a friend is fighting.

The others I have been to have all had 2 paramedics and ambulance outside so was surprised when the guy was KO'd there wasn't any.

Another lad looked no more than 16 years old (looked younger but must be at least 16 I would hope!) and he got KO'd pretty bad very quick and looked like he never got in the ring before.

I find the events are generally made to promote a local promoters' fighters with lots of mismatches to make them look good. To be fair this happens at the very top level to most young potential stars.

The most shocking aspect appears to be the fact the people are prepared to pay money for this cr@p (the fact that the OP parts with his cash doesn't surprise me)

I've been to some Muay That fights in Bangkok where the fighters were as young as 13. I thought at first it was semi contact but when an adult came in and flattened a lad no older than 14 I saw enough. Apparently the kids fight daily and get KO'd every day also.

Sparring with Kell Brook as he talks about "a war of nutrition" would be worth a fiver of anyone's money!

Shocked and appalled! I paid £40 for ringside table seats as well! I could see Degale on Saturday for the same!

You could walk past when they were stacking the chairs away afterwards and see him for free

sounds like the people who organise it were a bit dodgy.
it's unlicensed yes but letting them fight again after being knocked out is dangerous. he could have had a death on his hands.

he had a slot to fill and sounds like he'd fill it with anyone he could put gloves on.
