The FA Cup
Well, nothing on here much for discussion so thought this could begin.
At the moment Westisbest is probably pulling his hair out, whilst Wigan are marching on towards there second FA Cup in a row.

Total rubbish.
Why enter if we don't take it seriously.
Pi55es me off.
Fair play to Sheff Utd.

Re: The FA Cup
We're out, the old new manager advantage seemed to have worked for Cardiff. Pretty disappointed really. This season was a good chance to have a cup run, knowing that we were already safe in the league. As I said last week, our season is pretty much petering out due to the cup exits & the teams above us in the league just having too much quality for us to really keep competing.

No Cabaye, Krul, Coloccini, Remy, Debuchy
What did we expect really. We're never going to win the cup but at least let's have a decent run this year, given our position. We've endured going out to Brighton twice in two years & now Cardiff at home. Pretty poor.

I'd be annoyed at that.
It's January, what is he saving the squad for exactly?

Hello Wigan. More pointedly, you're probably never going to win anything but a cup, so glory first. Shame, Pardew probably has the 2006 FA Cup final as his biggest regret in football, you'd think he would love to put that heartache to bed

We're gonna lose the replay to Fulham, I despise Fulham so much.
Fox played well, criminally underused and mis managed by Hughton. Josh Murphy also a bright spark, RVW did well but players still aren't picking out his movement, he more than anyone needs a manager who understands how to use him

Re: The FA Cup
Sherwood goes out with a full lineup Arsenal rests half the squad by choice or necessity but gunners up 1-0 at half. Should be up 2 or 3 frankly, Arsenal again really wasteful with chances. Eriksen missed a one on one with Fabianski about Spurs only really chance. Gnabry needs more time or needs to go out on loan, the kid is quality.

Re: The FA Cup
Arsenal showing that they have strength in depth, something I think they've been lacking last couple of years, still need a striker and central defender(s) to have a completely full squad in my opinion.
Sherwood made a mistake in sticking with 4-4-2, lacking control in midfield, Bentalab and Dembele have struggled, Arsenal have pace and so can negate the counter as well. Without changes I can't see Tottenham leaving with a win. Adebayor looking petulant, will not be surprised to see him sent off.

Whilst Danny Rose will take flak for that (and rightly so), that summed up Soldado in a nutshell. Just no urgency out to the ball, allowing Arsenal to get out, then plays the ball to Rose and doesn't even attempt to give him a return ball instead just walks nowhere.
Absolutely useless player. Useless

Danny Rose giving a lovely example of how to reduce your transfer value from a couple of million to a couple of pence in ten seconds.
Saldado and Adebayor up front = not exactly high on work rate. They need another striker at least in January.

Yeah if anything i found that Adebayor celebration more funny tbh. Yet that got slated.
Arsenal were outstanding tonight, they just simply outclassed Tottenham.

Re: The FA Cup
pretty pathetic from 15 minutes with a man advantage over a walking wounded Arsenal when walcott hurt himself and they couldn't even produce a shot on goal while Arsenal almost scored through Ozil when down to ten men. Ozil brought on to fill in for a hurt Arteta. A big win but a big concern as to the condition of theo and Arteta.

I love theo giving the spurs fans 2-0 sign with his fingers, he is being carted off and they are giving him the business real classy spurs, and all he did was smile and give them a little scoreboard reminder hilarious stuff.

Theo will be fine, seen it before with him, bit of a cry baby. He was hardly concerned with his injury was he? He was smiling, laughing & gesturing to the Spurs crowd, fully expect him to be fine.
Arsenal easily deserved to win that, Spurs pretty poor. End of.

Re: The FA Cup
I have to say Eriksen was really poor today and was totally outclassed by Rosicky in the center of the park. Kyle Walker was garbage trying to dive his way to a penalty and being caught out on the opening goal. And poor Danny rose got really humiliated by the one man wolf pack known as Rosicky. Frankly if not for some poor Arsenal finishing (how many times have we heard that this year) and playing with 10 men at the end this scoreline could have gotten way out of hand. Serge Gnabry is a revelation for me, every time he has played this year he has played well. He set up the opener beautifully for Cazorla and almost had two other assists to Theo and Ozil. Play him Arsene please!!!

Re: The FA Cup
Haven't really learnt anything from Spurs. Everyone knows Walker is garbage & an appalling defender, nothing new. Rose......less said the better. Will never be a class full back in this league, multiple loans around the lower ends of the league, no wonder Coentrao is being linked. Eriksen is an in & out player, either brilliant or goes AWOL. Same for Denmark.
Agree, Gnabry looks quality. Shame he's German though. Don't think Arsene would trust him in the EPL to start ahead of more experienced players in his position. One for the future though no doubt.

John if we weren't so hit with injuries I would say loan him out in January, to me he is just a few regular matches away from being a quality star this kid Gnabry. He just needs more time to develop. But Arsenal's injury woes will prevent that i feel. Would love to see him get regular time though for the gunners or get games for lesser side fighting it to stay in the prem.

Yeah, looks quality from what I've seen from him.
Not sure Vermaelen will endure another season on the bench, will move on in the summer, if he can't break into first team. Therefore, another CB will be needed along with a striker.

so we dont need another CB unless one of our CBs leave......isn't that the same for every team?

Possibly. Your boys were in this position going into 2008. Still a long way to go Champers.
Rather see Arsenal win it than City and Chelsea but the night is young.

Steady on lad. These four consecutive fixtures in the PL will let us know if Arsenal are the real deal or not:
Tottenham v Arsenal Sat 15 Mar
Chelsea v Arsenal Sat 22 Mar
Arsenal v Man City Sat 29 Mar
Everton v Arsenal Sat 5 Apr
I'd echo Freek in that I'd rather Arsenal win the league than either Chelsea or City, but I simply don't think they will. Lack of depth in defence and attack will cost them. 3rd place I reckon.

Oh and I bet lovely Theo will get a fine/suspension for his 2-0 gesture, while the absolute w@nkers that were lobbing coins at him, despite the fact he was on a stretcher and may have been seriously injured for all they knew, will get nothing.
Scum of the earth that lot - give 'em some national service and send them out to Afghanistan, see if they're that brave then. Tossers.

We'll only know come the end of the season, any team could blow up between now and then, what happens up to this point is quickly forgotten come the end of the season.

Exactly, I don't know if we will win the league but the team is much improved over the last 12 months and are a real contender now and should be with their young core and money to spend for the next couple of years at least.
