Liking the side apart from patchell really don't see what the fuss is he has mpre bad days than good days, if your going look at bringing a young 10 in look at Owem williams featuring for his club even holding down the kicking duty with flood back much much better player

I think some players like Dan Evans, and Hallam Amos must be hoping they can sneak their names into the match day 23.

agree that Roberts needs to come off the bench but i dont think gatland would put north in centre only perhaps mid game through injuries . it be Roberts and Scott Williams . must say what a player Scott turning out to be . fair depth in centres when players come fit

I think Mr Made Of Glass ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/25594896 ), will need to do something to prove he is capable of playing test rugby again before I would consider starting him.

Regards my above post if either of O Williams or Allen is fit then would play them alongside Sc Williams and leave North on the wing to start.

I will probably get slated for this. But what has happend to( Gavin Henson?)
Is he still playing? As he retired from the game? Is he a long term injured?
Just have not heared any thing a bout him for a long time.

Re: Wales team v Italy.
Pat Leach is smashing people back in defense at the moment - would be interesting to seem him with Scot Williams
Amos should hopefully be fit. Evans,Tovey and Rees have had a great season, if they were Scarlets they'd be called up.
Is Ryan Jones injured again ? Lydiate seems off the boil at the moment.
How about capping the big lumberjack lock at the Scarlets ?

I think that Gats should steer clear of the scarlets this season, they have not been doing well, and should be left well alone. The Dragons are flying, so all welsh qualified players should go assist Gats and co.

I would like to see Tovey and Rees in the squad both looking good. I believe Ryan Jones is out for 5 weeks, injured during training, shame he was playing well.
I can't see Amos or Evans getting into the squad, if they played for Cardiff they may be called up, Dragons unlikely.

Amos has been called up and played to being at Dragons should now be irrelevant, that said I would pick Evans ahead of him

Just at 15 I reckon, though I heard he's a big fan of wearing the 10 jersey. How long does he have left on his contract? I could imagine Blues trying to swoop in for him.

Re: Wales team v Italy.
I'm Scottish so I'm not too up on form or injuries, but Gatland is not too known for mixing things up so I expect your traditional Wales. Only areas of concern are 9, 13 and possibly 6. I don't know if he'll play Warbuton as he hasn't seem to have appeared much. Also maybe discount Lydiate, he's apparently playing poorly at Racing. Ryan Jones maybe? Or Shingler? 9 - I'd like to see Rhodri Williams. I could see North moved to 13 with Scott Williams, but if Roberts is fit then it'll be North on the wing. They have more options at centre than wing so I think North might be a last resort tbh.
To Welsh fans -
What's the thought on Aled Brew and Lee Byrne (< too old?) regarding intl rugby if they move to Dragons? Could they be in contention for a bench spot?
Btw could you find a Scottish granny in one of your 10s - its almost embarassing the quality you have. Priestland, Hook, Biggar, Patchell, Shingler, Davies and 1/2p for kicking. Unfair

Funny.
We have a decent back line when in form - Hogg, Maitland, Dunbar, Scott, Visser, ?, Laidlaw
and with some good locks and our saffer invasion, we have a decent pack coming along.
We could just do with a ten. Cash or part-exchange would do. Or we could alter some birth records...

Doctoring records? Sounding a bit London Welsh there. Weir is pretty decent.

Do you think some of the young welsh tens should be getting more intl game time, owen williams principally and maybe Sam Davies (real talent)?ScarletSpiderman wrote:Doctoring records? Sounding a bit London Welsh there. Weir is pretty decent.

To be honest we are a bit stuck, we are well stocked there so someone is always going to miss out. Matthew Morgan would be a real game changing option though

Sorry Munkian just catching up on posts, I think Evans is more than capable of playing on the wing if required but I guess he is more and out and out XV. We would then have option of moving Halfpenny to wing and North to 13.
Always good to have extra options, especially with JD out and Roberts having taken a knock.

I agree, options are good.
Saying that, Brown got moved to wing for England and that didn't work out too well. I don't see Gatland moving North to centre unless of injury

Dan Evans did a good job on the wing whenever the Scarlets stuck him out there. I would say he is far better on the wing than he is at half back.

Well JD is out, Roberts took knock and out this weekend I believe, not sure on O Williams or Allen and Beck has never convinced me.
Any ideas on when squad is announced? I am guessing after this round of HC matches or at least an extended training squad announced maybe, that way least there an idea of who is getting looked at and in with a shout.

Munkian,
They play left and right not 6 and 7 so whilst he may wear 7 its just number to them.
Good news about Roberts though.
