This game shows why the English teams and the Irish teams need to stay in the Heineken Cup. Or whatever European competition is created.

Re: Leicester v Ulster
Ulster cynically killing time with these scrums. Both should have been Tigers penalties but nothing given by Owens. Ulster provide one good scrum and the penalty is straight there. Frustrating.
The injuries have hurt us here, can't afford to lose the impetus from the bench against a team as good as Ulster.

We miss Manu so much in the backs to provide front ball in the backs.

Can't work out why the first one was reset, I thought it was a clear cut penalty.

Definitely, with Tait going off as well we've really lacked any penetration in the backs.
Needed a bit of luck really, a yellow for Jackson's very early hit on Morris for instance. That's rugby though.

Woah - this is what the Heineken Cup is about - round 6 epics.
Big credit to the Tigers fans, they are a classy bunch and I've had a message from a Tigers congratulating me on the victory already....also the respectful silence for Pienaar's kicks even the kick that give us a 3 point lead they were absolutely silent for it.

One of the most tense games I have ever watched.
Well done Ulster!
Commiserations to the Tigers, that was one of the hardest games we have played.

Pienaar, what an uber- legend! Surely now surpasses Cuchulainn and Fionn McCool as the greatest Ulsterman!

It wasn't THAT tense, I was quite relaxed.

Re: Leicester v Ulster
When I was 10 years old, I was at a home semi-final for Ulster versus Stade Francais- I was there when David Humphreys went streaking down the touchline and I think that was the moment I fell in love with the game of rugby.
That was the last European Cup knockout game to be played at Ravenhill. I feel rather emotional at this, tbh. I'm just about keeping it together. We'll be finally taking a game back to Ravenhill. All those wet Friday nights over the last 15 years, all those last-minute heartbreaks all those long years.
All hell might stand against us, but I wouldn't bet on anyone else.

Re: Leicester v Ulster
Leicester are a great team, they deserve to be in the quarter final. I'm just proud of the mental resilience.
Most teams go 19-9 down at Welford Road in a game like this when they are pumped and the crowd is in full voice never recover. To not concede a single point after that...

Re: Leicester v Ulster
Chris Henry, face bleeding. One stupid offside decision aside he was brilliant, and Wilson & Best were absolutely superb in the pack. Tight match, tighter than it should have been. Best team won. But Leicester showed their pedigree in this competition and what a bloody good team they are. Welford Road is a fortress but we managed it. We might not be good enough to win the tournament but this shows how far we have come in a short period of time.

Humphreys streaking in front of a 10-year old……..
Is there nothing these Ulstermen won't do to recruit fans?

This. If there was a hug emoticon I'd use it right here. Sums up exactly how I feel right now.
