Early start times on final weekend
I was just updating my - 'drinking on the final 6 Nations Saturday and getting my excuses for being a wreck to the missus early' and noticed two things
1) All the same teams have home matches in the same order as last year
2) All the matches start 2 hours earlier - so the first match is 12.30 rather than 2.30
Point 2 does mean slightly earlier end to the matches, but also means slightly early start to the drinking
Is this a good thing? Does have earlier matches make it a more enjoyable day - or do we like the evening match to round it all of

You sure the first match of Super Saturday wasn't at 1230 last year ?

I wonder who decides the fixtures... RFU must have some say in this, to be able to engineer a final game against Italy. Suppose they wanted to ensure that the party is unlikely to be spoiled as it was last year.
Mind you, if England where to be on for a Grand Slam and Italy took it away from them, what a coup that would be for the Azzuri. I reckon that could even top them beating France last year.
All academic though, as the deciding game, as per previous years will be the middle match between Wales and Scotland...
As for the timings of KOs, it is all down to TV scheduling. If they put it on to late, they reckon they lose viewing numbers to the reality sh!te that is on...

Agreed, but not as bad a having to play France on a Friday night again!!!
Thought the WRU said this was an experiment and not going to happen again... Yet it still happens...
If the French want to play on Friday nights, why not let someone else playing them then... Why is it only Wales gets this cr@p time...

Actually the Welsh fixtures aren't very good at all this year... 1 Friday and 1 Sunday... terrible.

Not overly thrilled by Super Saturday kicking off at half 12. Rather partial to a long lie at the weekend, which ain't going to happen if I want to watch all 3 in the pub.
Re: Early start times on final weekend
The only reason they mess about with the Welsh fixtures is because we are that blind and loyal for our love of rugby they know we would watch Wales play rugby in the middle of the Antarctic at 3am on a Wednesday morning if Wales were playing there.

The pub issue is a real one. In reality is means an extra two hours drinking - I wonder if I will even remember the day, let alone the final match

Stick to light ales and pub food for the first match then work on up

i think the earlier start times are to accomodate the England Grand Slam T shirt suppliers who will either be busy printing or burning.
