I'd say Haloti Ngata would be a better fit. Soak up blocks to let Justin and Aldon Smith do their thing.

Tbh the days of fatasses that just soak up blocks are behind us. Teams want DTs that can push the pocket rather than guys like Raji or Soapoaga

IMO, 3-4 defense should be played with a strong NT that eats blocks and is strong against the run, allowing the LB's free to roam and clean up. See Star Lotulelei and Luke Kuechly.

Whatever though, let's just make the pick and move on.

McCoys an elite player at his position, whereas Verners somewhat of a drop off from Haden reputation wise.

I personally love Verner but could see where others wouldn't think like that. There's just something about the way he plays the game that draws me in.

Yeah I agree McCoy is a better DT than Verner is a CB.

Verner's a very good CB, but as GSC says doesn't have the reputation mainly cos nobody cares about Tennesse

Tbh Grimes is right there with him. I'd think I could target one of the two later. Jason McCourtys pretty good too as is Joseph in Houston.

Could also target Webb in Baltimore

Or you could probably mug DRC off Bull for a backup C

Is McCoy really a 3-4 NT though? He's more of a 3-technique than a 0. He would be best served as a DE in the 49ers system which uses a lot of base defense (and thus NT over Center) looks.

I deliberately didn't mention Ladarius Webb because I am planning to go after him when the draft is over. Tactics.

Most teams rotate their DL to be brutally honest. He could lineup anywhere on that line

He's not, but he could do it and as you say can play DE for em as well.
