32 teams in 32 days: Detroit Lions
Detroit Lions
Record: 7-9
Offensive Rank: 6th, Points: 13th, Passing: 3rd, Rushing: 17th
Defensive Rank: 16th, Points: 15th, Passing: 23rd, Rushing: 6th
Offensive MVP: Megatron (duh)
Offensive LVP: Kris Durham
Defensive MVP: Ndamukong Suh
Defensive LVP: Pick a CB, lets say Houston.
Story of the Season:
The Lions went as Matt Stafford went, first half of the season he was superb, second half, not so much. FA signing Reggie Bush promised spark but put the ball on the ground too much. Pretty good front 7, but secondary was a mess. It summed up all the hallmarks of Jim Schwartz's tenure, talented teams but ultimately stupid teams that couldn't get out of their own way as the Lions threw away a division served to them on a silver platter.
2014 Season Outlook:
Jim Caldwell replaces Schwartz at the helm after a stint in Indy, where he went to a SB and earned the #1 pick, and Baltimore where he inspired Joe Flacco into a great postseason run, before Joe Flacco became Joe Flacco again. Personally I like the hire, first task will be changing the mentality of the team, something his runs in organisations like Indy and Baltimore should help. Second fixing Staffords mechanics. The Lions have the talent to challenge for the postseason, they need to start forcing opponents to beat them.
2014 Draft Needs:
Ultimately somebody will make a Matt Millen joke everytime the Lions are slated to take a WR, but another target opposite Megatron could open up the offense. With Delmas departing, and the void at CB, secondary also figures pretty high on Detroits shopping list.

One of the more epic chokes I've seen from a team by Detroit and Stafford down the stretch.
