Have you guys considered having a tournament of some kind? That might help determine who is better if everyone plays everyone.

We did Miky, only Viva doesn't have the same console as those of us who were in the tournament so claims he's the best.

Re: N.E.D. Social Area
We normally do, but I'd imagine with the delay in results there'll be an extension to get tactics in. Mine are already written but want to see the feedback before submitting.

Don't know what to suggest on this guys, if you all have the results you've sent Gregers you could forward them onto myself and I'll try and cobble them together at lunch perhaps but I know there's some like Fan that aren't going to be on now until tomorrow so apart from hacking into Gregers account and checking his inbox we're a bit stuck.

Re: N.E.D. Social Area
we will just have to delay the submitting of tactics then..otherwise it's just pointless submitting them if we don't know what people thought about the week's before..

Re: N.E.D. Social Area
Vincent Kompany is overrated, he makes too many fouls and jumps in far too quickly. It's only because of a lack of great CB that he is rated highly, 10 years ago they wouldn't mentioned him. John Terry is a million times better at his peak and even at 30 plus he has performed higher than Kompany. Lescott and Demichelles get far too much stick yes they man sausage up but I've noticed at times its because of Kompany poor positioning but they'll never accuse him.

The football board really is dominated by c*nts isn't it?

Results ( I hacked Gregers account and have emailed him to apologise for doing so)
Parma v Lyon
2-0
2-1
2-2
1-2
2-1
1-0
Result
1.66 - 1 = 2-1 to Parma
Again, both teams really cancel each other out. I would like to see both mix it up from the tried and tested 4-2-3-1, though in this game I feel Fans side suits it better, and has an edge of quality overall.
Parma feedback: Really strong team and great tactics. You will be difficult to stop. Although it felt as much like you were telling what your players were good at, as it was giving them instructions.
Lyon feedback: Good tactics and almost earnt a draw. Just felt you were up against a much higher quality XI. I think the weakest positions were Kone, Fofana, Briand and Finnbogasson, which unfortunately is the spine of the team.
Similar sides with similar systems, Parma marginally better going forward but not by enough for me as Lallana and Finbogasson link well for Lyon. Both sides pushing for the win cancel each other out somewhat. Very few differences in quality between the teams except Parma's wingers being better. Score draw today.
GP: DM Pairing/Front 3 all bring a different aspect to their play good choice.
BP: Niang should be starting Cassano shouldn't anymore he couldn't handle 80 mins nowadays/ Kone & Fofana need updating
This was a very close game but I feel Fan's experience paid off with him paying attention to detail with opposition tactics and his subs which won him the game. Both midfield enjoyed a strong fight but like I said Parma were instructed slightly better. Riviere is a great signing and too intelligent for Lyon. Lyon pushed later on in the game and grew stronger but couldn't make it pay.
Parma Good Point: Tactically Parma look good and with the addittion of Riveier improves them
Parma Bad Point: Cassano is a luxury player and won't offer much defensively
Lyon Good Point: Trio in midfield work well together especially man of the moment Lallana
Lyon Bad Point: I would look to bring in a new winger if I was Lyon manager

QPR v Ajax
0-2
1-2
1-1
1-1
0-1
1-2
Result
0.6 - 1.5 = 1-2 to Ajax
I'm not really sure why CF is persisting with pushing CMs into AM role, I'd much rather see him play a 2nd striker. QPR have the makings of a decent side, but CF needs to put more detail in, whereas Heros Ajax are better prepared and see full dividends.
QPR feedback: Much better tactics this week than last. At CM, you have plenty of experience and a nice look combo. Just need to improve on the quality throughout, particularly RB, AM and CF
Ajax feedback: Solid side throughout and with the AM trio, you will score plenty of goals. Weakest area looks to be at LB and your CBs look lopsided with Umtit playing on the right of the pair, it looks unbalanced.
Much better use of Pirlo from QPR although a lack of depth in the team as SWP, Simpson and Faurlin not really good enough. Ajax strong and well detailed but no real change of tactics/no Plan B if losing, and no gameplan for stopping Pirlo who is a huge player for QPR. CF needs to put more into his tactics, but the general jist of it is decent. Score draw today.
GP: DM Pairing good combo's for both sides
BP: Id rather have Cesar then forster & Simpson/SWP & Ramis need moving on/Apart from Umtiti not really a fan of the defense.
QPR look a lot better with Pirlo playing in the deeper role but the Ajax midfield pairing were stronger and did not allow the QPR attack much, also with Ajax having majority of possession allowed them to dictate the game. With the pace and sharpness I feel the QPR fullbacks couldn't deal with them.
QPR Good Point: Pirlo in preferred role and decent centre backs
QPR Bad Point: Need a better striker than Rhodes if they to make chances count
Ajax Good Point: Allan and Strootman are a very strong partnership which allows attacking players freedom
Ajax Bad Point: Hero is a fan of young players but in this position you need a top end striker

Lazio v Spartak
1-1
1-0
1-0
1-0
2-1
Result
1.2 – 0.3 = 1-0
Lazio Good - back 7 pretty strong, wingers + am also good
Bad - would have tried to work totti in there personally, at the cost of promes, also would look at defoe
Spartak good - same as lazio really, strong 11 out on the pitch
bad - ahamada may cost you points in future
Spartak going route one didnt help Spartak and saw Iturve and Jese being missed out alot and this is where I see Spartak being most dangerous, Movsisyan was eaily dealt with as Lazio scored through Jermaine Defoe early in the second half.
Dull game, not many chances, Lazio sneak it late on with a defoe tap in.
Both teams work the way into the game over a bit of time and chances start coming through for Defoe for Lazio Its Magic and he eventually manages to poach a goal. Spartak Moscow work hard to try and get an equaliser but they can't quite manage it - Jese Rodriguez and Iturbe share most of the opportunities.
Lazio Its Magic Feedback: I like the instructions given to Defoe, quality player who will do extremely well off of these instructions in my opinion. Strong lineup and Gregers did well to switch the team around without Cabaye who seems to be a key player for him.
Spartak Moscow Feedback: I really liked the instructions given to Jese Rodriguez and Iturbe today, i feel that they are very good at the things that they were asked to do and this is where the chances in the game will come from.
The switch to Defoe was inspired with Moscow's tactics to mark with the slower CB, also not inpressed with the comment 'No idea what Gregers will do' in the team talk, what inspiration to the players!

Lille v Rotterdam

0.6 – 0.67 = 1-1
Lille good - up to cabella a very good lineup
bad, that front 3 needs work done to it, and i think you lost the tactical battle with cabella lacking space against 2 dms and the winger not tracking back left your full backs too much to do
Dam Good - won the tactical battle
bad - need a better backup keeper as that injury was a major negative
A poor game all round again Kaka and Quintero out wide is wasting them but imo porr tactics from both and nop real direction for either
After an exciting first half, the 2nd half is a more dull event, with not many chances, and it stays 1-2.
Pretty evenly matched teams and they both play well but no team manages to make a breakthrough. Gilardino and Mandzukic get the chances for both teams.
Lille Dwayne Feedback: Good straight forward instructions and set up well. Good tactics and a good plan for the game.
The RotterDamned: Good straight forward instructions and set up well. Good tactics and a good plan for the game.
Find it hard to find a winner between these two sides, both have plusses both have weaknesses and the new manager Enigma coming in has the framework of a good side there that Bian left. Lille need to fluff out their tactics a bit more imo, seems a little light at present with no mention of what to do if losing with subs, set pieces etc.

Fenerbache v Santos
1-0
1-1
3-1
0-1
4-4
Result:
1.8 – 1.4 = 2-1
Fener Good - like the balance of the midfield 3 and the front 3 work well together
bad - full backs for me are the weakest part, but its not like there eyesores
Santos good - like hernanes given a more advanced role
bad - keeper injury severely affected your team
Good tactics from both saw this as match of the day in this league, goals from Sow and Nem saw points shhared
Fenerbache dominate and never look in trouble..they are cruising, with Santos pulling a goal back late on to ruin the potential cleen sheet for Fenerbache.
Strong lineups from both teams. Damiao managed to score after holding the ball up and he manages to turn on the edge of the box and places it nicely in the top corner. Fernabache don't have a lot of chances to equalise because of Fernando doing a great job for Santos in protecting the back four and Fernabache do not end up getting the equaliser.
Fernabache Feedback: Good lineup and it looks like Viva knows what he wants from his players and knows how to use them to the best of their ability.
Santos Little Helper Feedback: It looks like Marky has chosen his team and tactics well. He also knows how to use his players to the best of their abilities and he knows how he wants the team to play. I like that Marky has included Taarabt in the lineup as well.
Game of the week for me with both sides trying to out think the other with formation and as a result both have gone with their sides top heavy on attack. I see a goal glut for both sides.

More than the opponent or just wins?
I'm just trying to help out here guys, I know it's hardly been the best of starts but I like you am not a runner on it and am just trying to pick up pieces.

Re: N.E.D. Social Area
Based on that rule then it'd be the following:
Parma v Lyon would remain 2-1 (both rounded down to 1-1 but Parma got the +2 wins)
QPR v Ajax would change from 1-2 to 0-3? (I had +4 wins so don't know if its cumilative? on the +2 = a goal?)
Lazio v Spartak would change from 1-0 to potentially 3-0 as well due to +4 wins
Lille v Rotterdam would be 0-0 rather than 1-1
And Fenerbache v Santos would be 1-1
Parma v Lyon would remain 2-1 (both rounded down to 1-1 but Parma got the +2 wins)

I don't mean because of you Hero
Money rules changed, changed back, both weeks results late, both runners rarely online and there's still issues over a week 1 result.
Plus I got feedback that "Fenerbache cruised against Santos" with no explanation why, that's scandalous feedback!

Re: N.E.D. Social Area
I noticed last week that Zebs did the rounding down, as per Marky's comment, and then +1 goal for +3 more wins (which felt wrong because there were only 5 or 6 votes per game).
And the +1 goal was only given if the game was a draw, not if the team had already one i.e. it was only used to separate the teams if required

Re: N.E.D. Social Area
That is probably the way the season will work out as +3 votes is just too many. With only a max of 6 votes, it probably needs to be different.
On the Euro Division, it was +2 votes off a max of 8 votes per game

The league needs someone to take over the running. If Zebs is blocked at work, then he isn't coming back, whilst Gregers sounds like he has other things to worry about.
A couple of you folk need to take over the reigns if you want it to carry on going

Afro didn't you want to be part of the running? Now is your chance, run the league and give everyone jobs to do. I can do injuries for the other league.
Re: N.E.D. Social Area
Nope. I only offered to help them out, not because I wanted to be. I've done my share of running and I'm happy to be out of it.
Plus I haven't got the time

Re: N.E.D. Social Area
thanks very much hero for picking up the slack, it is much appreciated...
im also not overly un-happy about the results..some good feedback there......with a 2 tier system, and me starting in 2nd tier...i can properly re-structure a squad without worrying about relegation.

One feedback says good straight forward instructions, the other I need to add important information like subs and set pieces

I'd go with the later when I do results I also look at subs if they'll make a difference to the game.
Re: N.E.D. Social Area
I've never once paid attention to who takes set pieces

What I'd say in regards to that is that yes the instructions are straight forward to the players who start but you need to add in late game stuff with the subs and what to do in set pieces, it's not waffling etc but just covering bases.

Re: N.E.D. Social Area
I've done my tactics and sent them to Hero and see that they're in for tomorrow. Does that mean TP is extended till tonight? If yes I'll like to be able to edit my tactics if not keep them.
Re: N.E.D. Social Area
Ugh. 7am, laying in bed while kids played in our room. 8am, at hospital as my son (20 months old) cut the top of his head after catching the top of his head on our wardrobe doors. He's fine but that's my lay-in gone...

Not sure a lie in would be top of my priorities in that scenario.
